Nova’s POV
Walking through the dark hallway with my heart thumping hard against my chest, I held my shirt in my hand as fear engulfed me.
What the hell are we going to say to people about his Majesty? What the hell would we say happened to His Majesty while he was at our pack? How the hell are we going to do with his body?
A lot of questions lingered in my mind and I knew if I asked Tam, she wouldn’t have an answer to them. It was clear she didn’t think about the aftermath of our action but all she knew to do at that moment was to take revenge on His Majesty.
Prescott gripped my hand, forcing me to stop on my track. I knew he had a lot of questions to ask me, but who was I to tell him what I had planned against him?
Slowly, I turned on my heels when I felt his hold on my shoulders, telling me to turn around and look at his face. I couldn’t see the clearer look on His Majesty’s face but I knew he was worried about me. There was no light in the hallway, all the light here had been cut off the moment they stopped using the building. Only the dim light coming from the exit door we left ajar was the only light in the long hallway.
“Nova, I want you to tell me what this is all about…” Prescott was trying to say something, but suddenly paused when we detected a scent of freshly dug soil in the air.
I immediately knew who it was, but Prescott might not know who it was but I already knew it was my sister.
“Tamsyn is here, I need to tell Prescott before Tam does something we will both regret for the rest of our lives,” I mumbled to myself, I opened my mouth to speak but what happened made me move back in shock.
The sound of a blade moving in the air, and the sound of bones breaking filled my ear as I moved back in stock. The coppery scent of fresh blood was what made me realise what my sister had done.
“Aargh!” Prescott let out a sharp howl in pain, letting go of my shoulders. He writhed in pain which made me press my palms on my lips, stopping myself from screaming out loud.
“Your… Your Majesty!” I stuttered, even though it was dark in the hallway, I could still see him going down on his knees.
“Tam… Tam… Tamsyn?!” I knew what I agreed to, and I knew what we had planned to do to His Majesty. But, seeing Prescott groaning in pain, and Tamsyn grinning darkly at him, made the outcome of what I had agreed to come weighing my heart with guilt.
“Die! Die you bastard!” Tam screamed, her screen echoed through the hallway and I had to block my ears with both palms.
“You? I know that voice. You’re the first daughter.” Prescott chuckled, kneeling on one knee as he dragged the other one up on the floor, he groaned before standing up to his feet.
“Tamsyn?!” I cried out as I watched Prescott pluck the dagger from his chest, he stared at the blood on it and scoffed out angrily before tossing it to the floor.
“Aargh!” he groaned while pressing his palm on his chest, trying to stop blood from oozing out of the cut. His mouth parted before letting out a muffled groan.
“Why are you not dying?” Tamsyn yelled tears rolling down her eyes as she shook her head nervously, “I poisoned that blade! How can you not die?!” she quivered, her voice shaking as she moved back in shock.
“Poinson huh?” Prescott sneered, I couldn’t see the look on his face because his back was on me, yet I could tell he was getting pissed at how deadly he sounded.
“If you don’t want to die, you better give me a good explanation for rebelling against your King!” Prescott howled, his voice came out sharp and strong which made my heart ponder in fear.
“Your… Majesty,” I whispered, My inside was seething in fear, but I couldn’t move my legs, it seemed as though my feet had been glued to the dusty floor.
“You,” Tamsyn gulped, sliding her hand to the back of her dress, I watched the sly smirk on her face as she tried to pull out whatever she had in there. “You are not my King and you have no right to yell at me!” She barked, her voice shaking as she tried pulling her hand from her back.
“Take that thing out and I promise you won’t be walking out here yourself.” Prescott threatened, moving and closing the little gap between him and Tam.
I stood there like a coward that I was, watching everything with tears in my eyes. I couldn’t do anything but watch.
Tamsyn pulled out a knife from her back and made to stab it in Prescott’s chest, but he gripped her hand and twisted her hand to her back. Breaking the bone of her wrist.
“Aarghl” Tamsyn’s cries filled the air and I clenched my teeth in anger, watching my sister struggling to break free from His Majesty’s grip.
“How dare you rebel against me? Do I look that easy to you?” Prescott’s voice was rough and hoarse, making me want to believe that the man right here wasn’t the same man who was walking beside me earlier.
He gripped her neck and slammed her back against the wall. Sharp cries left Tam’s mouth as she remained in his grip.
“You,” Tam gripped her teeth and spat on his Majesty’s face. Prescott let go of her neck and took a step away from her.
“To hell with you! The moon forbids you from being a thorn in my flesh.” Tamsyn cried out, I gulped nervously when I saw Prescott gripped her head and hit it against the wall.
He stopped after hitting her head on the wall severally before wrapping his hand around her neck, Tamsyn coughed as Prescott gripped tightly at her neck, choking the life out of her.
“Prescott, please stop!” I cried out, my cries were interrupted by Tamsyn yelling out my name.
“Nova, find that dagger and help me get rid of this bastard as you’d promised you would. Take that dagger and stick it in his heart, let’s put a stop to this beast’s life.” she coughed, slamming her fist on Prescott’s grasp on her neck.
“Who promised you what?” Prescott smirked, tightening his hold on her neck. “Don’t drag my Queen into this.” he barked at her, grabbed her head and hit it on the wall yet again.
“Tam I can’t!” I mumbled, my hands shook terribly as I tried moving towards them.
“Nova! You’re going to do it, right? You already promised you would. Don’t chicken out or I’m going to despise you for the rest of my life!” Tam shrieked, her voice came out with pure hatred.
I stumbled upon a sharp object and fell to the floor. My knees landed roughly on the object and I let out a sharp groan when I felt a sharp cut on my knees.
“Ouch!” I whimpered, moving my hand on the ground to see that it wasn’t any other object, but the dagger.
“Nov… Nova.” Tamsyn groaned out my name. I picked up the dagger and stood up from the floor.
Watching my sister on the verge of death made my blood rush. I held tightly to the dagger and briskly walked up to them.
“Your Majesty!” I shrieked.
“Stop right now, Prescott!” I thundered out his name, hatred clouded my mind as I raised my hand in the air, ready to stick the blade into his flesh.
Slowly, Prescott tossed Tamsyn to the floor and she fell with a loud thud. He made to turn around but I stuck the dagger into his arm.
“My Queen?” Prescott’s voice shook as he said those words, a wave of guilt washed over me and I moved back in stock.
The dagger was still stuck in his arm, but he didn’t bother to remove it. He turned to face me with shock on his face.
“I… I told you to stop.” I cried out, Tears streamed down my cheeks as I watched the hard look on his face soften a little bit.
“Nova, what are you doing…”
He made to touch me but I moved back in shock, who knows what he had in mind to do to me? What if he intended to kill me, or hurt me just like he did to my sister?
“Don’t!” I yelled, raising my hand to stop him from walking closer to me. “Don’t come closer you beast!” I rushed up to my sister and dropped to the floor beside her.
“You call me a beast?” his voice shook as he stared down at me, his brows furrowed and I watched him clenched his hands to his sides.
I gulped down nervously while watching him pluck out the dagger from his arm. He took a last glance at me before walking away from the dark hallway with the bloody dagger in his hand. He walked out of the exit, leaving me alone with my sister who wouldn’t move on the floor.
“Tam,” I tapped her arm, She didn’t react to my touch so I learned to feel her heartbeat but I was more than shocked to see that she wasn’t breathing.
“Tam… Tamsyn!” I yelled, crying out as my mind linked to my Dad.
“Dad…” I sniffed, tears rolled down my eyes as I kept tapping her arms.
“Princess, are you okay?” Dad’s worried tone echoed through my mind.
“Send someone over to the abandoned store, Tam is not moving.” I burst into tears as the mind link got cut.
I sat down there, staring at my sister’s lifeless body, lying helplessly on the cold floor. I gulped hard, trying to process what had just happened.
“Why didn’t you stab him when you had the chance?” Tam groaned, interrupting my cries with her harsh tone.
I thought I heard wrong until she moved her head on my lap and stood up from the floor. “I gave you a chance but you let him walk away!” she scoffed, dusting her butt and slowly caressing her bump.
“I hate you, Nova!” she spat, walking away from me.
I sat down there on the floor, trying to process what had just happened but then, a little voice in my mind growled out.
“She used us! She used us to get back to His Majesty!”
I gripped my head in my palms, crying out since everything that had just happened didn’t make any sense to me.
The door opened and I heard heavy footsteps running into the hallway.
“Princess, where is she?” I heard Dad’s voice, but I couldn’t raise my head to look at him.
