Prescott’s pov
Staring out from the cafe transparent walls to the old residents building with my arms crossed, I kept staring, waiting patiently to see if anyone would enter the building. Just as the owner of the Cafe had suspected the house when the travellers didn’t come out of the building, I had decided to inspect the building by sitting down here with my Queen.
Nova kept talking to me, but I wasn’t paying attention to what she was saying, all my attention was on the building across from the coffeehouse. Staring keenly at the building so as not to miss anything.
I had come to check out the building after Dixon, my best warrior had filled me in on what they found in the building, I had decided to come inspect it by myself.
But having Nova with me, I chose to wait in the coffeehouse while I checked from up here if I would see anything suspicious.
Just then, a guy who was clad in all-black attire entered the building after looking back and forth.
I hastily stood up from the seat, my gaze was on the guy as I wouldn’t want to let him off my sight.
“Wait here, I will be back,” I said to Nova, about to walk away when she also stood up from her seat with her eyebrows raised.
“Going somewhere, your Majesty?” She questioned, a thin line appearing on her forehead as she speak, “Should I come with you?” She tried getting out of the seat but I shook my head.
What the hell was she thinking? Why would she want to follow me? It might be dangerous in there.
“Sit back down, I will be back,” I uttered, rushing out of her sight with my mind on the guy who just appeared in front of the building.
I walked out of the store, watching the guy enter the old resident’s house. I trailed quietly until I got to the gate, fortunately, the gate was left unlocked, so I slid inside without any problem.
The compound was a little dusty, I walked towards the front door and entered the living room, not seeing the guy anywhere.
“What do you want, your Majesty?” a voice chuckled behind me, I made to turn but I felt something made contact with my head.
“Oh, shit!” I groaned, moving my palm to the part of my head that got hit, checking for blood.
I moved my palm to my face, but nothing was on my palm.
I smirked, what the hell did he take me for?
“Guess whatever you hit my head with isn’t strong enough to give me the slightest cut.” I groaned, turning on my feet to see the guy smirking back at me with a dumbbell in his hand.
He didn’t just hit me with a dumbbell, did he?
“Yeah, you’re a Lycan after all, this shit got nothing on you. I know that much.” he grinned and tossed out the dumbbell in his hands.
“I’m glad you’re well aware of that.” I smiled and stretched the joint on my neck before staring back at him with my eyebrows furrowed.
“What are you? What’s your identity?” I asked, moving my nose up in the air to sniff his scents but he was smart enough to have hidden his scents before I entered.
“I am one of those you’re looking for. Does that answer your question?” he shrugged off his shoulders, walking past me to the lone stool in the living room, that reminds me of the private torture room at the royal villa.
Guess my style is everywhere! I chuckled, sliding my hands into my pant pockets.
“Great! You’re a rogue,” I snorted, not believing I was having a friendly conversation with someone whose head would come rolling to the floor at any moment from now.
“Are you a werewolf, or a Lycan? What exactly are you? That’s what I want to know.” I questioned, grabbing the doorknob and shutting the door behind me, I need to know his identity so I would know far I could go while fighting against him.
“Does that matter? Aren’t you here to torture me… Perhaps kill me?” he raised his shoulders, a sly grin found its way to his lips and I smirked at his silliness.
“Great! You know too well you won’t be stepping out of this room, that’s a relief you know what you’re here for.” I leaned back, resting my back on the wall with my hands wrapped around my arms.
“You’re so full of shit!” he chuckled, moving his palm to the back of his head, while he crossed his leg over his thigh.
“That’s not a lie. If killing was counted as shit, I would be more than happy to commit another shit right here, and right now.” I beamed, raising and slamming my back against the wall.
“Oh,” he smirked, dropping his leg to the floor, “I would love to see you try.” he whistled, tapping his foot on the floor while nodding to the beat he made with his foot.
“Great!” I released my back from the wall and took a few steps closer to him, “I no longer care about your identity. Whatever thing you are, I’m not going to leave you here, alive anyways. So let’s break the ice.” I closed the little distance between us, leaned forward and stared down at him.
“Who is Eruba, and where can I find him?” I howled, my gaze burning into his.
“Eruba?” he chuckled, dropping his gaze to the floor, “even if you kill everyone who exists in this nation, you would never find him.” he howled, his eyes glinting, making me look away from him.
I sighed and straightened up to my feet. I slid my hands into my pocket and turned my back on him.
“Tell me where I can meet your leader and I will let you go.” I howled, feeling my chest burnt as I tried hard to keep my act in check.
The guy chuckled faintly, his voice cracked as he tried to speak. “Not only are you full of shit, you’re the real shit!” he spat, his chuckles filled the room, and I gulped, shutting my eyes as I fought the urge to rip his mouth off his face.
“How dare you give me conditions when I’m not begging for my life?” he barked, I could feel his hard gaze on my back, I opened my eyes, gulping down the sudden lump that formed in my throat.
“I came here on my own and you’re not going to make me beg for my life…”
I swiftly turned on my feet, grabbed him off the stool and threw him to the wall. He bumped his head into the wall and fell to the ground with a loud thud.
“Um,” he groaned, bumped his fist on the floor and tried to get up to his feet, there, his scents came filling the air and I howled out angrily.
“So, you’re nothing but a mere werewolf!” I smirked, walking towards him with my boot hitting hard against the concrete floor.
“A mere werewolf, you say?” he grinned, getting on his feet with his hand on his head, “I thought you stopped saying that about you married a mere werewolf.” he hissed, rubbing the back of his head with his palm.
“I dare you to repeat what you say!” I howled, my voice echoing through the room as I took a dangerous step closer to him.
“I said your Queen is nothing but a mere werewolf like myself…”
I charged towards him and dipped my claws into his arm, gripped tight to his arm and pulled it off his body. Blood oozed out of the cut and he let out an agony howl.
“Ahhh!” he howled, falling to his knees as tears streamed down his eyes.
“Who is Eruba?” I barked, gripped his neck and raised his face to look at me, “Tell me who the fuck Eruba is before I tear your limbs!” I threatened, clenching my teeth as the guy kept smiling at me.
“The goal is to keep you useless here, and I’m glad to waste a few minutes of your time.” he spat on my face.
“Huh, what the hell are you saying?” I glared at him, he chuckled but didn’t say anything. I raised my hand and whacked my claws into his neck, he hissed and laughed like a weirdo.
“Tell me what the fuck is going on!” I shrieked, getting fed up with the rubbish he was spilling.
“You’ll find out when you realise that you are of no use to them. You will know what I mean when you realise how useless you are to them.” he coughed, blood dripping out of his mouth as I stared at him in wrath.
“Stop acting funny,” I scoffed, gripped his neck and stared hard into his face, “you’re such a fool for protecting a weakening until the end!” I dipped my claws deeper into his neck, he let out an agony cry until he could no longer make a sound.
I twisted my hand and pulled his head off. His body fell to the ground and I let out a satisfactory howl.
Just then, I heard a rustling sound in my mind, followed by a voice that I could recognise anywhere.
“Your Majesty, the pack is under attack!” Dixon’s voice echoed in my head, I gasped and fell on my knees.
“This is what he meant?!” I howled, banging my fist on the floor.
