Prescott’s pov
I entered Alpha Randale’s office to see my men, sitting on a large couch. They sprang up to their feet when they saw me enter the office.
“Your Majesty!” my men bowed in greetings as soon as I got closer to them.
“Where is Randale?” I questioned, seeing that he wasn’t anywhere in sight.
“Checking out a file in his inner office room,” Dixon spoke up, his voice hoarse as usual.
“Sit!” I ordered, taking the couch across from them.
“Yes, your Majesty!” they said in unison before plunging back to the seat.
I moved back into the seat, crossing my arms around my chest as I thought about what the rogue that attacked Nova earlier might have wanted from her.
Realizing that I might have gotten a little information from him, I wished I never had killed him.
“Sorry for keeping you waiting… Your majesty!” Alpha Randale halted on his track, he held a tray of mugs in his hands, and he bowed as he saw me on the seat.
“Your majesty, I never knew you would be this quick, hence, I would have bought a cup of coffee for you as well.” he groaned, staring at the tray in his hands.
“I’m not here for some coffee!” I brought down my hands to my lap, my gaze boring into the file he help with his armpit.
“I’m sorry, your Majesty!” he bowed slightly, sharing the coffee among my men.
“Can you come forward and tell me what was written in that file?” I demanded, gesturing to the file he had in between his armpit.
“Oh, it was the case file of the rogues that invaded this pack years ago,” he mumbled, moving towards me with the file and empty tray.
He dropped the tray on the table and strength forth his palm with his head bowed before me.
“Rogues have invaded this pack before?” I questioned, my brows raised as I retrieved the file from him.
“It has been over a century. That was the first and the only recorded attack on this pack in history.” Alpha Randale retorted with a proud smile on his face. “I haven’t even become the Alpha then, it was during my father’s regime.” He uttered, walking away from me, plugging his ass on a sofa beside my men.
“Is that all?” I knitted my brows as I waited for him to give me more clues, but it seemed like the file was lacking everything I had hoped it has.
I scoffed, tossing the file on the table. “If this case was over a century, I don’t think we can find anything reasonable that will be of help to this current case.” I sighed tiredly, moving my head back to the headrest. Realising the Alpha has nothing else to say. “Besides, you couldn’t be so sure that it is the same rogue from the past.”
“I believe it is the same group of rogues,” Alpha Randala blurted out, picking up the file from the table, “it says here that the rogues had a matching sketch of blue wolf tattooed on their arms,” he announced, my eyes darted to him at alert, I sprang up from the seat and snatched the file from him.
Scanning through the file more than ten times and the only information I could get was the name “Eruba” and their signature tattoo.
“This won’t do!” I groaned, throwing off the file. The pin was loose and the papers were scattered everywhere on the tiled floor.
“By the way,” he continued, stealing a glance at me before moving his gaze to my men who had gone muted throughout my chat with the Alpha. “My father killed the rogue leader who was known as ‘Eruba’ then. I have no idea if he truly died or the new Eruba is another person.” he added, I hissed as I found no meaning to his tale.
“You mean to tell me that a rogue who had been in existence for over a century, who had been hidden since that time would suddenly decided to come back into existence a decade ago, and now, coming back to invade your pack again? How’s that possible?” I scoffed, moving my thumb to my lips to wipe imaginary dirt off my bottom lip. Something I only do when I was been frustrated.
“Your Majesty?” Alpha Randale called, I shot him a deadly glare and he kept mute as I had wanted him to be.
“How are we going to catch a group of rogues that have been in existence for over a century? And how are we going to catch them when the only information about them we had is just a name we never know who bears it and a tattoo that even a random werewolf could have it?” I howled, kicking off the table with my feet.
“Ahh,” Alpha Randala gulped, unable to understand what was my deal with the rogue, since he was the one who should be feeling that way since his pack was the one that was likely to get invaded.
“A rogue almost killed my Queen right in front of my nose today, I had killed off the bastard before I realised who he was.” I barked, my tone harsh and fierce and I watched as Alpha Randale’s eyes widened in shock as he heard about his daughter.
“Is my Princess okay?” he questioned, standing up to his feet with his palms on his mouth, stopping himself from screaming out loud.
“Your Princess?” I scoffed, tapping my fingers on the arm of the couch as my gaze on Alpha Randale remained solid. “I’m talking about my Queen, and you still have to ask me that question. Would I be here if anything should have happened to my Queen?” I gritted my teeth together, boiling in anger as I couldn’t imagine what this man was trying to say to me.
“Mind you, she became my Possession the moment I crowned her as my Queen, it is my duty to worry about her, as her husband, not you!” I pointed a finger at him, making him see the reason why he shouldn’t ask me such a question.
For goddess sake, I wouldn’t be sitting here calmly if anything should have happened to my Queen.
“Oh,” Alpha Randale sighed in relief, plugging in his seat with his palm on his chest.
“Shit!” I cursed, pinching the edge of my nose, feeling frustrated at the thought of not having any clue about the rogues.
“Your Majesty?” Dixon cleared his throat, I moved my gaze to him, ready to hear whatever my best warrior has to say. “I think we may have a clue on where the rogues are staying in this pack,” he added, standing up from the seat after taking a piece of paper from Czar, and walking closer to me.
“Really?” I withdrew my head off the headrest and moved forward to see what was written in the paper he laid down on the table, after moving the tray to one side.
“Yes, your Majesty!” he pushed the table towards me and I knitted my brows, seeing what was written in the paper was not just any information, but a map of a Palace… the pack Palace.
“Isn’t this the map of this Palace?” I questioned, staring deep into the map.
Alpha Randale stood up at the mention of the pack Palace. He rushed up to us, checking out the map with his eyes widened in shock.
“I fear it was this… My palace.” Alpha Randale gasped, turning the paper over.
Dixon stood still, not saying anything as Randale turned the paper over to see certain rooms were sketched, out of some buildings.
“This is my building, and Princess Nova’s room, and… And my wife!” he gasped, slamming his fist on the table.
“My Queen’s room was sketched out?” I questioned, taking the paper off the table, I checked only to confirm that what he said was the truth.
“What was their deal with my Queen? And where do you find this?” I turned to Dixon who stood still beside me, his gaze was on Alpha Randale.
“In an abandoned building for travellers, dead bodies of travellers that hadn’t been reported to the pack authorities were found in the building. We got the news from a passerby who claimed to know when the travellers arrived but he hadn’t been seeing them coming out of the building for the past 12 hours.” he paused, taking a drag of air as if he had run out of oxygen.
“We got there, hoping we would find anything useful. Only the dead bodies and this map could be found,” he explained, moving his hands to the back as he does that when he was done talking.
“How many bodies were found in the building, and how do the passersby get to be so sure that something was wrong in the residents building?” I questioned, trying to put the puzzle together.
“About six bodies were found in the building, and I didn’t think it was done by werewolves alone, judging by the state of the bodies.” he shrugged, taking his hands off his back and crossing them around his chest.
“If not werewolves, who else do you think was involved in this scheme?” I threw another question to the guy who seemed to have solved the riddle in his head before coming to me.
“I think there are Lycans among the rogues!” he blurted out, clenching his teeth as he let out what I had never thought was possible.
“Lycans? You mean our species were involved in this?” I howled, and sprang up to my feet like I had been pushed off my seat by an invisible force.
