Prescott’s pov
“Because I am the Queen! I am the Queen of this nation. If you can do as you wish because you’re the King. I will also do as I wish because I am the Queen! Just as the king can exercise his authority, I too have the power to make decisions for the good of my people and you’re not to question me because I never questioned your authority!”
“No! You’re wrong!” I barked at her, Nova moved away in shock, tears shimmered in her eyes as she stared back at me in utmost shock.
I gripped her arm and made her look straight into my eyes. “I am the only one who has the power to do anything. I made you the Queen because I wanted to, not because you wished to. One word from me, and you’d be withdrawn from your post.”
Nova flinched back in fear, terror was clearly shown on her face. Shock slapped her face when I forcefully pushed her to Wharton, she crashed into his chest and staggered backwards before standing straight.
“In case you don’t know, your life is no longer yours but mine. Since you’re my property, anything you do will affect my fame. I don’t want to know if you have reasons for doing this, but next time you do this, I’ll have you punished greatly.” I whispered into her ear before moving away from her.
I walked up to Ulrica who seemed to be faking weak. I took her from the guard and wrapped her arms around my shoulder before sweeping her off her feet and into my arms.
“Take the Queen to her room, make sure she gets cut off from every activity. She should not step out of her room until I give permission.” I ordered, Wharton bowed before paving the way for me.
I walked away from them with Ulrica snuggling into my chest. I knitted my brows and moved my gaze to her.
“What? Do you want me to drop you?” I groaned when she kept moving her gaze everywhere.
“People… Someone might be looking.” she pouted and I rolled my eyes at her.
As if that wasn’t what she want. Having people me taking her to the resident in my arms.
“Don’t worry about anyone, Wharton asked everyone to vacate the premises.” I chuckled lightly, seeing the frown on her face proved me right. She wants everyone to see us.
“That fool!” she groaned and hid her flushed cheeks in my chest.
“Why are you hiding them? C’mon, you look cute when you blush.” I teased, everyone knows she looked weird when she was flushed but I like to compliment what wasn’t good on her so she will keep wearing them and I will keep teasing her.
I got to the residents’ building and the guards guarding the entrance door rushed up to me.
“I will take Lady Ulrica back to her room, your Majesty.” he expound, stretched out his hands to take Ulrica but I shook my head.
“Don’t worry, I can do it.” I declined, staring down at Ulrica whose hair was scared to her face.
“Okay, your Majesty.” he paved the way for me and I strolled inside.
I walked to her room and twisted the doorknob with my elbow. The door crept open and I walked in. I walked straight to her bed and laid her gently on the bed.
I sat on the edge of the bed and took her palm in mine. Despite the coldness of the evening, her hands felt warm and I rubbed her palm against mine.
“Does it hurt?” I asked, checking her neck to see bruises everywhere.
Ulrica sniffed back tears and nodded her head. “It hurts a lot.”
“Sorry, I’ll fix your bruises.” I stood up from the bed and walked up to her closet, picked up the treatment box before walking back to her.
“Can you sit ?” I pulled out a stool and sat on it.
“Yes, I can sit.” she groaned, brought down her legs from the bed and slid her feet into the flip-flop.
“I’m sorry.” I grabbed some cotton wool and damped it with the fragrant-free lotion.
“This will hurt a little.” I brought the wool closer to her face and she let out a soft chuckle.
“I know, silly!” she giggled, moving my hand from her face and guarding it to her neck.
She pressed my hand on her bruised neck and let out a soft moan.
“Umm, yes, there!” she released my hand and I stared at her, wondering what she did that for.
I gulped down nothing and shifted in my seat. “You know I can see the bruises, right? No need for you to show it to me.”
“Yeah, whatever.” she rolled her eyes and pulled the cloth away from her neck.
First, I moisten the cotton wool with the lotion when it seemed like the first one wasn’t enough.
Then, I gently wiped the area of her skin with the wool, making sure to be as gentle as possible.
Ulrica made a funny face and I tossed the lotion to her eyes.
“Ouch!” she groaned, I held back my laughter as I dropped the wool on the table.
“Sorry, that was a mistake!” I chuckled, picking up the ointment.
Finally, I applied the ointment to the area to soothe the skin and reduce any redness or inflammation that will remain after.
“Are you done?” Ulrica asked, she lifted her hand to touch her neck but I slapped her hand off.
“Not yet,” I mumbled.
Picked up the band-aid and fix it on her neck, she hissed when I tapped on her neck.
“Your neck will heal before the break of the dawn, only the dry bruises will remain,” I announced, packed the kit inside the box and took it back to the closet.
“Thank you!” she mumbled, she let out a winch and I hastily moved my gaze to her.
“Does anywhere else hurt?” I raised a brow, seeing her holding her head in her palms.
“It’s just a slight headache, It didn’t hurt anywhere else.” she grinned, I nodded my head and closed the closet.
“You know I didn’t do anything, she just came out of nowhere and leapt on me?” Ulrica blurted out, rather in a question.
I shrugged off my shoulders and walked back to her.
“I don’t want to know what interfered between the two of you, but I know whatever the thing is, you’re the cause of it.” I placed my arm on the edge of the bed, staring down at Ulrica who had a killer glare plastered on her face.
“Seriously? How can you say that when I am your friend?!” she sprang up from the bed and I moved away before she step on my feet.
“Just because you’re my friend does not mean I should always side with your wrongdoing.” I pointed out a finger at her.
“What?” Ulrica scoffed and crossed her arms around her chest.
“Stop acting like she means anything to you, we both know that you don’t love any woman!” she flared up, her face reddening.
I moved my palm to my head and brushed my hair backwards.
“This isn’t about me, I’m telling you that she can’t just go violent with you if you hadn’t done anything to engage her. You should be telling me what you did, not starting an argument with me.” I sighed, Ulrica will never take responsibility for her wrongdoing.
She’s not the type that gives in to her mistake and takes correction. She’ll prove right even when her wrongdoing was glaring back at her.
“You don’t love me, do you?” she tugged at my sleeve, pulling me to face her. “If you love me, you wouldn’t be saying this to me.”
“I never said I love you, and I’m not saying this because I hate you. You’re my friend and I will always tell you the right thing.” I grabbed her hand and released it from my sleeve.
“I can’t love any woman, you’ve already confirmed that earlier.” I
“I want to love you, even if you don’t love me the same way I do, just let me love you. I want to prove to you that you can love and be loved.” Ulrica insisted she circled her arms around my neck, she stood on her toes and gently pressed her lips on mine.
“Just like this, if you allow me to do anything, I promise you I will succeed in making you fall in love with me.” she sniffed, her eyes welled up with tears. She smiled, letting her tears roll down her cheeks.
“You’re only wasting your time, thinking I’ll someday see you as a woman.” I pushed her off me and she fell back to the bed.
“If your purpose in this villa is to make me love you, I think you should go home because it will never happen.” I turned away from her and headed for the exit.
“Again, don’t you ever kiss me without my consent, you may be reckless because you are with no man? But know that I am now a family man and anytime you do that, I’ll have you punished.” I grabbed the doorknob and walked out of her room without sparing her another glance.
Scratchy cries echoed from her room, I shut the door behind me, walking out of the resident building without turning back.
