Chapter 33
DAVINA’S POV
I stand in front of the door, at a loss for words. Tears well up in the corners of my eyes. I feel unappreciated and unable to understand what’s going on in his mind. I have to be strong and show him that I’m unique. Just because I was sold doesn’t mean I lack dignity and don’t deserve respect.
The tears finally rolled down my cheeks as I sniffed, trying to swipe my tears away. I turned to the other side of the bed and stared at the windows when the door burst open.
“Yaaaaaaaay” Tammy let out a high-pitched squeal, behaving like the young girl she was. A warm smile spread across my face.
“Please have a seat,” I said, tapping the little bed space next to me.
“Missed me?”
“No, I didn’t.”
“Oh!” I exclaimed with a perplexed face. Like father, like daughter. I thought.
“I was so scared. The thought of you being missing made me realize I hadn’t spent enough time with you. I was afraid I wouldn’t see you again,” she said, pouting and playing with her fingers.
I chuckled, “I’m a strong Luna. Nothing can stop me,” I replied, showing her my feminine, weak muscles.
“Daddy’s own is bigger. Daddy is stronger than you-
“Oh yeah. That motherfucker is-
She gave me a stern glare “No curse word. Daddy said no curse word.” She interrupted and I nodded, mumbling “Sorry.”
“How did you know I wasn’t around? Did rumors spread so fast?” I mumbled those last statements.
“Daddy instructed the workers not to disclose the information. She muttered and the door suddenly opened. I jumped up in fear, thinking it was Tristan.
“Oh, you girls.” A breath of relief came afterward. Cassy threw herself at me, and feeling joyous, I reciprocated. I beckoned Carla, Benedict, and Juanita to come close.
She stood just five steps away from the bed, staring at me while I hugged the girls. I was so glad to see them, happy to see how deeply they cared for me, but at this moment, I think and feel it’s different for Juanita. “What could be wrong?” I thought for a while, and then I broke the hug from the girls.
I stood up, left the bed, and walked close to her. I pulled her into a warm hug and said, “I’m sorry if I made you worried. I’m just glad to see you girls back because I thought I wouldn’t.” I cried on her shoulder, but she didn’t move or return the embrace.
It shattered my soul. I love them all equally and want them to be free with me. It seems to be working out, but Juanita keeps making it difficult. At the same time, I feel this is who she is.
I released the hug and wiped the tears from my face. She avoided my gaze and instantly bowed, which angered me.
I pleaded with Juanita to say something, attempting to hold her hands in mine, but she pulled her hands away instantly.
“We’re happy to have you back, Luna Davina. We were all scared, but despite it all, we’re glad to have you back. The pack misses you,” she responded with a smile.
“Juanita is acting distant and wants the two of you to have a boss-and-maid dynamic.”-
“Why?” I cried, staring at her.
“I don’t know Luna Davina, don’t get yourself worked up with her attitude. She will come around in the long run, hopefully,” Cassy replied as she sat on the bed. They all did, same with Tammy.
Is Tristan influencing you to do this?
“No, my Luna.”
I sighed and went back to bed.
“Just because Luna is friendly with you three doesn’t mean you can disrespect the Alpha by sitting in his bed, especially if he’s here,” she said. In a swift movement, they stood up immediately and positioned themselves behind Juanita, five or six steps away from the bed.
“Seriously?” I yelled.
“We got carried away Luna Davina, we are sorry for disrespecting the Alpha.” They said in unison and I chuckled.
“I can instruct them to sit wherever I want them to-
Sorry to interrupt you, Luna, but this is the Alpha’s room, not yours. You are here because he wanted you to be, but having your maids on his bed goes against the opportunity he gave you.
“Juanita!!!” Cassy exclaimed.
“Are you rubbing the fact that I was rejected on my face??” I stuttered staring at her.
They gasped, and Juanita shook her head in denial.
“No, that’s not what I meant, Luna Davina. You misunderstood my intention.”
“Intention? I chuckled, do you even have an intention for me?”
“Of course, Luna, it wouldn’t be nice if you kept getting on Alpha Tristan’s bad side. You need to understand his policy. Trying to win his heart over and make him see you are here for good is different from using constant trouble to get his attention,” she explained. For some reason, her words got me thinking.
Trying to win his heart and show your commitment is different from seeking attention through trouble. Wow! Words! Hmmmm.” I sighed deeply.
“And daddy loves peace of mind,” Tammy added, while her tiny eyes stared at mine.
“Oh thank you, dearie.” My lips caught with a smile. I looked at Cassy and she nodded in agreement to Juanita’s words.
“I will agree to your words Juanita, maybe I’m doing it the wrong way, maybe I’m just too weak to handle him-
“Of course not, you are doing the best you can. You just need an insider to guide you, because he’s made a lot of progress, and joining in suddenly might not end well. You just have to be cool and avoid getting into trouble with him. It’s okay if there are challenges because they can strengthen the bond, but too many can drain the other person.” She explained as I listened intently.
Wow, Juanita, how long have you had this? Benedict mumbled and gave her shoulder a friendly tap, but she received no response. Instead, she just stared at me.
“So, Luna Davina.”
“Yes, my advisor.”
“Oh, I’m just a maid who happens to be observant. I’m not your Luna advisor; your advisor has already been assigned. So, Luna Davina, are you ready to resume your Luna duties?” she asked, and everyone stared at me.
“Can I take a day off today?”
“Oh! Yes! sure my Luna.” She replied we will take our leave now. Ring the bell if something urgent comes up, we are a bell away from you.
“Oh! One more thing”
“Can I get Grady please?”
“He was fired yesterday night,” Cassy replied.
“I know-
“You know?” Benedict exclaimed.
Tristan fired him unjustly. I was at fault, but he believed he didn’t meet expectations, so he fired him.
“Oh, okay. I’m sure the Alpha would have gotten someone else to replace him. You will have a new personal escort now,” Cassy responded.
“I don’t want a new one, I just want Grady. I want to hire him back.”
“What?!” They exclaimed with a baffled facial expression. More like I just said something I shouldn’t say.
