Chapter 26
DAVINA’S POV
“Tristan roared, “ALPHA MICHAEL!!” as he landed a punch in Michael’s face. I saw Michael plummet to the ground as I hurried to my feet.
“Tristan!”
“Seriously! Having a conversation with him!” he approached me, so furious. I saw his eye glow red; gradually, it kept getting brighter.
“Tristan, please calm down,” I saw him swiftly flying to the right.
Oh gosh, there goes Michael again! He hasn’t balanced. I shifted my gaze back to Tristan, who was now standing and adjusting his neck. By now, everyone was staring, and I let out a frustrated sigh.
“Is it a crime to talk to a lady who is having fun alone, simply because she’s available to everyone?”
“Michael!” Tristan roared as he pounced on him, delivering another punch to the face.
“Lexie, take over and keep me conscious,” I instructed. Lexie quickly gained access and approached Micheal, then subdued him with a neck hold.
“Davina can handle your insults, but I won’t stand for it. I won’t stay here while you insult me because you have a problem with Tristan!” She roared, and I could feel every bit of anger and emotion in her. At that moment, I just let her vent. She tightened her grip, trying to shift as much as she could as her grip got tighter.
“You can’t shift Lexie!”
“I don’t care, if you won’t do the needful, will!”
“Okay, we’ll consider shifting here, Comm Lexie,” I attempted to calm her down, but she was still furious. At that moment, Michael started shifting, and despite being an Alpha with considerable combat training, he couldn’t break free from Lexie’s hold. I was amazed by the strength she displayed against someone like Michael.
“Davina!” Tristan called out to me, but his voice sounded distant. “Not again, Lexie. Getting angry won’t solve anything,” I tried to reason with her despite feeling uneasy.
“Davina! Davina!!” Tristan whispered in my ear, his breath brushing against my skin. I witnessed myself coming back to life when Lexie released Michael. She softened, no longer angry, and granted me full access again.
“Thanks,” she said and slipped back into my mind. I fell. Feeling weak, I didn’t collapse to the ground. Tristan caught me halfway and gently held my face, trying to keep me conscious.
Men in identical attire hurried towards us, accompanied by a woman and a man. Their presence indicated that they were Alpha Zeus and his Luna.
“What have you two done?!” He questioned, looking confused.
Tristan carried me up, saying, “You should have told me Michael was invited. I would have turned down the invitation.”
“Oh, I’m fine,” I mumbled lethargically as I tried to wiggle myself out of his arms.
“You better stay still or I drop you to the ground.” He whispered and I kept mute immediately. He might or can drop me like he said.
“It was quite a party. Are you sure you both can form a strong alliance?” Alpha Zeus wondered, still annoyed because the party was a bit disorganized.
“I’m leaving. I won’t tolerate someone insulting, disrespecting, and harassing my woman. You should teach your guests better!” He fumed as he walked out, leaving everyone watching. I gazed at how beautiful he looked despite being furious. He adjusted me in his arms, and I comfortably rested my head on his chest, listening to his heartbeats.
“What were my instructions when you came to Golden Stone Pack?” he asked. I found myself cracking my head, trying to remember his words.
[Starmming] “I can’t remember,” I mumbled. He laughed sarcastically and let out a chuckle as he opened the car door and put me in the seat.
I muttered a “Thank you,” not expecting a response. He slammed the door so hard that it shocked me.
“Is he mad at me?” Questions raced through my mind as I watched him come to the other side and get into the car. He was silent and didn’t look at me, just at his phone. The car started, and we drove away.
The ride back to the pack was silent, with only the sound of our breathing. Somehow, I feel like I’ve offended him.
I remember offending him by giving room to Michael, to have a conversation with me. Still, he insulted and harassed me, and couldn’t remember his instructions when I entered Golden Stone Pack. I gazed at him, unable to read his expression or even his face.
“Tristan,” I called, but there was no response. My palms grew sweaty, beads of sweat lingering around my forehead under the A/C.
I returned my gaze to him, and this time he wasn’t staring at his phone. He was staring at me. I can’t say for certain if he was, as the car happened to be dark.
[Stuttering]”I’m sorry.”
“What are you sorry for?”
I paused. I didn’t know what I was sorry for, but I knew he couldn’t attend Alpha Zeus’ party that night, all because of me.
I’m the reason why you couldn’t stay until the end of Alpha Zeus’ party.
“Huh.” He hummed.
“I’m deeply sorry, Tristan. A lot happened tonight because of me, and I apologize for causing you so much trouble. It was not my intention-”
“But you did! Huh!”
“I’m sorry, Tristan. I sincerely apologize. I caused a lot of damage.”
“I can’t leave you alone for a while to attend to something urgent. You were already feeling lonely enough to seek comfort from Michael.!” He fumed, as his finger tightened.
“I’m sure you were smiling while having a conversation with you. You disgust me right now!”
That was harsh; my vision became blurry, and tears welled up in my eyes, ready to fall at any moment.
[stuttering] “I disgust you?” Those words came out amidst tears.
[stuttering] “I-I-I disgust you.”
I never craved to be alone for a long period. I badly want to scurry off somewhere quiet, just me alone. Perfect timing: the car halted. I checked our location and realized we were back with the pack. Without hesitation, I unlocked the door, hurried out, and slammed it. hard, while I ran out there sight.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I ran as fast as I could, not heading to my room, just wanted to be where I wouldn’t be called disgust!
“Lexie, can you shift in,” I requested and that was the last I remembered.
