ALPHA FRED’S POV
“Honestly I must say that I have no pity for his sons, I don’t care about his family, they can all die one by one” I spat in annoyance.
“You are the alpha, and he is just a beta. He is a beta because he cannot be an alpha. You are an alpha for a reason and you should not have left everything to him, now see where it has landed us” Alpha Ray said.
He was going round and round and now I am lost as to the point he wanted to make but I think he meant that I gave beta Tim much leverage. That is exactly what we want to find a solution to, who cries over spilled milk?
“I know this is not a time to cast blame, but a beta should always remain a beta. There is a reason why they are beta and not alpha” alpha Jake added.
“The three brother Packs are in a deep mess and if we continue to administer blame, I don’t know what we would achieve but I am certain that it will not take us out of the mess” I begged.
“Of course, we have not forgotten that we are in a mess and that is exactly what we came here for and that is all thanks to Diamond Cut Pack,” Alpha Ray replied.
“Hey guys, I am sorry. I got us all into this. Please think of a solution, please” I begged.
I am at their mercy, and they are free to kick, punch, and push me. All I want is a solution.
“Is there a message from the queen?” alpha Jake asked.
“Not yet, but I don’t think that will be for long. Beta Tim and his witch succeeded in putting the king of the Pixies in a miserable state and I know the queen will come for us once she is through with that” I lamented with a sigh.
Alpha Ray and alpha Jake gasped in shock.
“Now this is a whole lot to deal with…” alpha Jake said.
“I know… I know… I know” I sighed.
“See, we just hope that the queen comes for only Diamond Cut Pack. That is the much we can hope” alpha Jake said.
“I wish. But who does not know that it is the brother Packs? I fear she would come for the three” I replied.
It is just common sense. Anyone who comes for one comes for the three. Capturing only Diamond Cut Pack is as good as not capturing any Pack. The queen would not be so foolish as to come for just Diamond Cut, even though I hope she does. I do hope she does.
The legacy left to me by my ancestors should not be destroyed in my time. I failed big time, I failed as a result of my weakness.
“That is hope in futility. I wish I could hope the same too, but I already know that such hope would be dashed” alpha Ray lamented.
I looked at their gloomy faces, I brought this upon us and now I don’t even know how to get us out of this terrible mess.
“Beta Tim, what has he said, he should have a solution?” alpha Jake asked.
“For his own good, I hope he never appears before me again. He should keep off to preserve his life” I said gnashing my teeth.
“He thought he was on the right, but the battle was uncalled for,” alpha Jake said.
“I allowed him, he served my parents so well. Even his father and the fathers before him. They were loyal to the Pack and smart. They have been no trace of foolishness in his lineage. Now I am beginning to question the loins he emanated from. I doubt if he is his father’s son” I grumbled disheartened.
“Beta Tim is a man overridden by ego. Now I blame myself for not calling out to you when he was maltreating his daughter, Scarlet” Alpha Ray said.
His words cut me like a knife. “I am the alpha of this Pack, no one needs to draw my attention pertaining to the state of my members. I slept for too long” I replied.
It was not until after Scarlet was declared missing that I was informed about all she went through with her father just because of the nature of her wolf. Beta Tim is truly a very wicked man. Yes, she has a weak wolf, but she is still a werewolf. How many female werewolves even make use of their wolf’s strength in their lifetime? He is truly heartless.
“She was my friend, and she relied so much on me. I failed her. She has the kindest heart I have ever seen, she never deserves to be hurt, especially not by her own father. I was just selfish. I claimed to be her friend, but all I did was show off as a hero in front of her. I did not lift even a finger to help her, I only took advantage of her naivety. She trusted me, she relied so much on me” alpha Ray lamented.
Yes, he was a friend and should have done more for her. But I am her alpha and did not even know her. She is the first daughter of the Pack, we are supposed to grow up as friends and siblings. But all those years I saw only Dawn, I never cared to ask about Scarlet.
I turned to alpha Jake and asked. “Speaking of Scarlet, has she been found yet? What if we are all paying for the harm we caused her? I am her alpha and did not even care that she existed, alpha Ray was her friend and did not care to help her, and you became her husband but only added to her plight”
“We are still on the lookout for her. She obviously does not want to be found. See, she left with five servants, two are among my best warriors, and three maids. I know no harm can come to her” Alpha Jake replied.
“That is not enough, alpha Jake. You would have gotten her if you had searched for her as soon as she left. If you had wanted to find her from the start, you would have done so. Weren’t you even afraid of her position in Diamond Cut, you did not care that she is the first daughter of the Pack?” I asked in anger.
“See, I was angry. Then I was annoyed that a person who was rejected was cast out of me. what was I supposed to do, even her father does not want her and her own alpha does not even know her. How was I supposed to have even imagined that her name would leave your lips someday?” alpha Jake replied.
“I left everything to beta Tim. How was I supposed to know that he could not even manage his own household? Beta Tim knows more than any other person that no member of Diamond Cut should ever be maltreated or regarded as a slave. How would I have imagined that his own daughter, the first daughter of Diamond Cut is treated worse than a slave in his own household?” I said.
“Talking about our predicament, I think it has to do with the curse of the old woman. We have to find her. Remember she said that we would end up in doom, and if we don’t find and recognize the one, even what we hold dear will be taken away from us. We must find her and ask her to show us the one she talked about” alpha Ray said.
I chuckled. His words are right, but how can he find the old woman? “Alpha Ray, we met the old woman over twenty years ago. Back then she was very old and was on the verge of death. Even if she was not on the verge of death, there is no how she would last up to this day” I replied.
“Alpha Fred is right, alpha Ray. That old woman would long be dead. And even if she is not, how can we find her?” alpha Jake said.
“Yeah… I guess I allowed myself to think too much” alpha Ray replied.
“I know what to do, I will start by putting beta Tim in his place” I murmured.
