ATOOR’S POV
The condition of the Chamlee is not a pleasing sight to behold. We the elders sat around his bed with none of us daring to make a sound. We were intrigued by the predicament.
We remained in the Chamlee’s chambers and time flew, seconds turn to minutes and minutes into many more minutes and none of us could bring ourselves to make the first sound.
It is true that the battle has been won, but with the present state of our Chamlee, was the battle even worth the fight?
What else can be done to save our Chamlee? We have taken all the approaches we could think of. But then, he who the Chamlar could not heal, can such a person be saved by another?
We should have known not to try when we discovered that this was beyond our queen, we should learn to accept that our Chamlee will not remain with us for too long.
We won against Diamond Cut, maybe this is the prize that we have to pay. I admit that it is too high a prize, but who are we to question the wise thoughts of fate?
Moorso and Tensa remained silent, both caught up in their thoughts. I bet that they must be having the same thought as myself, we all have come to accept the cruel fate of our king.
“We should learn to appreciate this extra time that the Chamlee is spending with us, at least we are fortunate to still have him around us for a little longer” Moorso was the first to break the silence.
That is the spirit of the Pixies. We don’t cry over spilled milk, and we embrace the cause of fate without any hesitations. If it is destined that our king will leave in this state, then we can as well cherish the little extra time that we still have him around us. We cannot question the hand of destiny.
“No, no way, that is not possible” the Chamlar retorted. “Nothing is going to happen to my Chamlee, I will do all that is possible to keep him here”
“My Chamlar…” we all exclaimed in shock.
“Can’t you see, my Chamlar, we have done all there is to be done, what more can we do?” I asked.
“No we have not done all there is to be done. My Chamlee lying helplessly here is a sign of such” she replied.
“What more is there to be done, my Chamlar? We should leave this to fate” Tensa asked.
The Chamlar wiped her face with her hand and went over to the bed. She placed her hand over Chamlee’s head and tilted his face to her. “I will never give up, Fernanda, I must see to it that you get out from this state soon” she whispered to him.
After that, she looked up at us and a tear ran down her face. “We cannot give up, I will not allow any of you to give up,” she stated categorically.
“My Chamlar, what more can we do? Look, the Chamlee… he is in a state of endless suffering, extreme pains, he deserves to be allowed to rest” Moorso persuaded.
“If he goes I will follow. Neither of us will have any peace without the other” Chamlar retorted.
What did she just say? She is ready to die with the Chamlee. But then, we can’t help the Chamlee, none of us can. She should be willing to accept that and not think of dying with him.
“No… no… no, my queen, nothing will happen to you. see we will not give up even now. We must gather all our arsenal, the Chamlee must live” I assured in distress.
What else can I say? We are about to lose the Chamlee and now even the Chamlar is threatening to leave with him, we must find a way around this, we must get this thought out of her head.
“We must save him, Atoor” the Chamlar sobbed. “He got into this mess because of me. I cannot watch him die. Do all you can, everything. Do all you can or be ready to lose me too”
“Of course, we will do all there is, but you must remain strong, at least for us, your people. Be strong while we think of a solution” I urged.
She got up and walked slowly to me. “I have no people but Fernanda, can’t you understand? He is all I have. He means the world to me” she said.
“And that is why we will never give up, nothing will happen to our Chamlee, we will do all we can to save him,” Moorso stated.
“He is in this because of me. He is all I have…” she murmured.
“He tried to save you. He did something noble and it is not your fault. You would have been dead long ago if he hadn’t done what he should” Moorso said.
“Yes, Moorso. The witch came with a spell and none other could go against her. Chamlee is only alive to this day because he has no wolf. The spell would kill any werewolf in seconds and if it had gotten me, I would not have returned alive” she paused and took a look at each of us before she continued. “How do you think Fernanda could go against the spell of the witch?” asking this, she broke down in tears again.
“Please stop this, my Chamlar, your endless tears are not good for the Chamlee” I went over to her and tried to console her.
She shrugged out of my grip and continued. “In the whole of the battlefield, only Chamlee could go against the witch because I made him one with me. I got him into this mess. If I had not been consumed by my weird lustful desire even while the fight was still going on, then my Chamlee would not have passed through any of this. I increased our bond by that singular act and this is the result of it” she said and pointed to the body of the Chamlee.
“See you did nothing wrong. You are one with the Chamlee and you need no permission to grow the bond between you two whenever and wherever you so desire. That noble act is the only reason why you are still here with us” I replied.
“That is a glorious act, my Chamlar. What do you think would happen to Pixolands if you were no more? We need you here” Tensa added.
“And who cares whatever becomes of the Pixies” she lets out a wail. “All I want is my Chamlee, Fernanda…”
“Please, my Chamlar, you have to relax… my Chamlar…” Moorso begged.
“You have to calm down, my Chamlar, please” I added.
“Yes… at least for Chamlee..” Tensa added too.
“You don’t ask me to calm down” she screamed pointing her finger at us. “Ahhh…” she placed her hands over her mouth and bent a little in discomfort.
I rushed to her. “My Chamlar, are you okay… My Chamlar, what is happening to you?’ I asked, perplexed.
In response, she pushed me and rushed to the restroom with her hand still over her mouth.
We all stared at her in bewilderment.
“What happened?” Tensa asked, his eyes wide as if they were about to pump out of their sockets.
“She was just here… and now… she has run over there… the restroom” Moorso stuttered, pointing to the restroom.
