SCARLET’S POV
I could not believe what I just seen, Violet and Elise in the lands of the rogues. But what are they here for?
They seemed lost and I heard them ask Chamlee for help. My heart continued to race fast even as Chamlee placed his hands over my shoulder as we took the lonely path back home.
Chamlee remained quiet as he walked beside me. He did not ask about the ladies or why I had reacted the way I did in their presence. Nevertheless, I need to tell him about who they are as I cannot keep this to myself.
“Those ladies…” I began.
“You don’t have to talk about them if you don’t want to” Chamlee assured me.
“No, I have to do this” I insisted on going on.
“It is making you nervous, Sabrina. We can as well forget that they exist” he persuaded.
“They are Violet and Elise from Blackmoon. I wonder what they are doing here” I whispered in case there was someone close by. I wouldn’t want to be heard.
“Really” Chamlee exclaimed in a whisper. “They were asking for help”
“Violet is alpha Jake’s mistress. I had to leave the Pack because of her” I revealed.
“They look rejected and lost. It seemed they have been traveling for days and the lady with the veil appears terribly sick” he said.
“That must be Violet. But what do they want here?” I asked without expecting an answer.
“We might have to wait to find out. I will have to send someone to investigate their visit. I will make Landon do that tomorrow if you don’t mind” he replied.
“I don’t think I am interested in knowing the purpose of their visit. I just want them far away from me as possible” I said.
“I can take them down” he offered.
I turned to look around. There was no other person on the path. “I don’t think that is necessary. We will be out of here soon anyway” I replied.
They look worse than dead. I would not concern myself with ending their lives. They should live in their miseries.
“Okay. I will just make sure that they get nowhere close to you” he guaranteed.
Their presence is like a nightmare to me, something that I have fought vigorously to run away from and so I would appreciate it if I never get to be close to them.

“You don’t look well, Sabrina,” Landon said as he met us at the door. He held my hands and led us outside. “Let’s talk in the garden” he whispered.
“What is the problem, Sabrina, you look all white and faded?” he asked, looking very worried.
“Violet and Elise, they are in this land” I whispered with a sigh.
“They are” he exclaimed but immediately brought his voice low. “But what do they want here, this is like thousands of miles away from Black Moon?” he asked, his eyes furrowed around the whole place.
“I wouldn’t tell. However, they were asking Louis for help” I replied.
“That apart, we have a letter from Pixolands,” Landon said and pulled out a letter from his pocket.
“A letter” I exclaimed. My heart skipped a beat.
I collected the letter from him with shaky hands and slowly ripped it open.
I went through the letter, words for words. “Diamond Cut sent their desire to go to war” I murmured as my eyes narrowed on the piece of paper and it dropped from my hand.
It was as if my whole world came crumbling on my feet. I have been in this land for a while now and I have not achieved my purpose. The last thing I need now is a war with a Pack like Diamond Cut.
I hope I have not brought my people to their doom when all they did was to place their fate in me.
“You have not decided on the rogues yet?” Landon said in a murmur.
I looked at them. I could see the worried look on their faces even when they tried to conceal it from me.
“No” I shook my head slowly.
“What did it say, Sabrina?” Chamlee asked and bent to pick the letter.
“Damn it… the son of a bitch” He swore in his rage.
“If we have found nothing against the rogues up till now, shouldn’t that be taken as enough sign to show that they can be trusted?” Landon asked.
I paid no attention to his question as a trailer of anger surged through me, and I can see it was the same for Chamlee and Landon too. My hand curled into a fist and the rate of my heartbeat metamorphosed into something thunderous and frightening.
Diamond Pack might be my Pack, but not anymore. In it, I was treated worse than a slave. I was made to live a life of penury there, a peasant. They are not my people and I must treat them as foes.
Noticing the state that I was in, Chamlee moved over to me and hugged me tightly. “We will pull through this too, dear” he assured.
“Sure” I nodded within his grip.
“Do we leave now?” Landon asked.
I held my eyes shut. The thought of letting the Pixies down shredded my soul to pieces. “Yes we will leave, but we will do that better than we came” I murmured trying to convince myself.
“You did your best, love” Chamlee said with his eyes locked in mine.
I slowly pulled away from his grip and took a few steps. I stopped and looked up at the sky and inhaled deeply. “So many things happening all at once right when I thought that I’ve got my life back together” I lamented. “Must it always be like this?” I questioned.
“You will defeat this…” Landon tried to pacify me but I was having none of it.
“Until when, Landon? just when is it going to end?” I asked with a feeling of dejection.
I turned to him, but he moved his gaze away. Chamlee did the same too. None of them have the answer that I was looking for. I sighed. They have done their best for me already.
“Now I wish I have Nana here with me. She is the only one that can help me in a situation like this. On one hand, is Diamond Cut, and on the other are the rogues I cannot still bring myself to trust” I lamented.
“Of course” Landon exclaimed in delight. “She said she would be there whenever you need her”
I smirked. Of course, she is here now that I need her. “We will have to leave tomorrow” I revealed, completely ignoring him. There are just some things that would always be beyond us, and it is time I wake up and accept reality.
“But even now she is here with you,” a tiny and shaky voice said.
