SCARLET’S POV
I continued to stare at her. Now I don’t know what to say to her to make her understand that I don’t hate her but would rather prefer she stayed away from me.
I have explained to her severally, using all the available tactics at my disposal. I had acted friendly, hostile, cruel, and even helpless just to make her maintain her distance. But then she was determined to pester my life.
“Should I come in?” she requested.
Her disposition was just like a little child asking for the little piece of snacks that had been dragged away from her.
I am just returning from my short walk outside the Packhouse. And I was with Lara and Kendra. I also have with me Rich and Landon as my guards. The short walk is a little afternoon walk that I try to take once every week.
But then, I don’t take the walk on any particular day, I pick the days randomly. So I wonder how she was able to figure out that I had gone for the walk today. Or is it that she comes here every afternoon trying her luck to see me? If that is so, then she must be a very determined woman and I must be careful of her.
She has her life to live and there is nothing in common between us so what then does she want from me? This and many other thoughts clustered in my head.
“Are you always here?” I inquired.
“Maybe yes” she replied.
“And that is not a clear averment” I retorted.
“Yes, luna, I come here about thrice every week. I know that you go out once a week and so I try to try my luck with the days” she replied.
On so many other days, I ignore her but that does not deter her from continuing in her quest. However, at first, I was determined to ignore her until she gets tired and stopped showing up. But then she did not stop, she kept coming and waiting by the gate for my arrival.
She was beginning to look like a nuisance in front of the Packhouse and that was when I decided to go against the advice of my friends, and give her audience occasionally and explain to her why she should stop seeking out for me. But so far, none of my approaches have worked. If not, she won’t be here again today, waiting for me.
“But then I am not answering you, why are you not deterred?” I asked.
“I sincerely hope that one day, you would come to realize just how sincere I am with my apology and accept me as your humble subject” she replied.
“And I don’t need to accept you. You remain a subject of Black Moon and that is whether I endorse it or not” I replied.
She opened her mouth to speak but I stopped her. “Okay, you have seen me again today. You can now leave”
“But it is not about seeing you, luna” she appealed.
“Then what is it about?” I inquired.
“I need your forgiveness, luna, I am sorry” she replied.
“Just that?” I inquired.
“Yes, luna. That is what will make me a fulfilled woman. When you came, I was very disrespectful to you and your union with the alpha. But I have come to realize how awful it was for me to do that to you when you have done nothing to me. I need to get your forgiveness, luna, that is the only way this burden will be lifted off me” she replied.
“But I hold nothing against you,” I said.
This is the truth. I hold nothing against her. I don’t even know anything about her and all I wanted was for her to let go of my man and since I have been able to achieve that, she became inconsequential to me.
“I need you to say the word for me to be able to forgive myself” she appealed.
“Okay, I forgive you, Violet,” I said.
“Thank you, luna. Can I join you inside?” she requested.
I cut a glance at Lara and Rich and I saw the disapproval on their faces. I would have loved to go by their desire, but then it will appear like I have not truly forgiven her. Moreover, the Packhouse is an open place and it is a place where every member of the Pack should be able to come and find solace.
So I cannot keep her away from the Packhouse. If she so desired to come in, then to show my forgiveness to her, I will let her in.

LARA’S POV
“I still believe that you should not have let her in, luna. And to tell you what I think, I do not for once believe any of her bullshit about being sorry. She may be crafty, but she cannot fool me with her guile” I said.
“But then, you heard her out there. Moreover, she was with the alpha before I came into the picture so I completely understand what she was thinking back then” I replied.
“And how sure are you that she does not desire the alpha anymore, luna?” Rich asked.
I wonder why none of them wanted to see things from the right perspective. Violet is inside the Packhouse now, I had instructed her to remain in the sitting room while I brought my friends into my second room to have a word with them.
I want Lara and Rich to be open and accommodating to Violet. I would not want Violet to get the hint that my friends have some reservations about her. So what I want to do is to clear things up with them so that we could all be on the same page as regards Violet.
I do not intend to force them though, I just want to make them understand and agree with me.
“The alpha is mine and he had long abandoned her. There is no way that she will ever be able to have him, at least not under my watch” I replied.
“Then she should remain where she was abandoned. We should not wake sleeping dogs” Rich replied.
“Listen to us, our dear friend. Enemies usually remain enemies” Lara appealed.
“And what would you say about the alpha, he changed didn’t he?” I asked.
“There is no way you are comparing that girl to the alpha. At least the alpha’s intention was clear, but can you say the same for her?” Lara responded.
“You could just go out there now and ask her to leave. She has overstayed her welcome already” Rich insisted.
“Enough, you two. Why is it difficult for you two to understand?” I asked.
“Then try and make us understand” Lara replied.
“But then you would have to think of a different explanation as to why you should have her by your side. The two of you have absolutely nothing in common. She is not a girl of your class” Rich added.
I threw him a sharp look and he immediately inputted. “Yes, I agree. You accepted us but there is no way you can compare her to us”
“Then allow me to decide that. Moreover, I never said that she will automatically be my friend or live with me here in the Packhouse. But a hello here and there is not going to hurt anyone” I explained.
“Really” they both chorused.
“See, she did something wrong long ago, and now she is sorry for it what kind of an example would I be showing to others as the luna if I refuse to forgive one of my own subjects? Moreover, as I have already stated, I was never in the picture when she started with the alpha, so her little jealousy was justified” I emphasized.
Lara placed her hands at akimbo and stared at me in bewilderment while Rich shook his head in resignation.
“Don’t worry guys, I will be careful” I promised.
