ALPHA JAKE’S POV
“Damn it” I cursed and shook my head.
I was furious. I thought I had warned her not to go about digging up on Scarlet and she came all the way here to tell me this? Now I know that she is insane.
All I wanted to do right now is to grab her and strangle her. What right does she think she has to go after my luna? However, I restrained myself from hurting her even though that would be the only thing that would give me complete satisfaction.
I growled at her. My eyes were all red by this time and my fist clenched together in anticipation of my wrath.
“You have to wait and hear me out. I know you already warned me not to do this but you will be grateful to me by the time you find out about all that I discovered” she said. “Or maybe you should just let me go” she begged.
To hell with whatever it was that she discovered. I don’t care about it one bit. I moved closer to her at a slow pace, my whole being filled with rage.
“Stop it, alpha” she cried as I approached her.
VIOLET’S POV
“Just speak, Violet” he ordered.
“Leave the way, alpha Jake. You already asked me to leave your presence” I retorted.
Now he is forcing me to speak. I thought he does not care about what message I had come to deliver. I am done with him here and I am leaving. It is obvious that he was destined to be doomed and I am not prepared to get myself burnt in a bid to deliver him.
“And now I order you to go back to that seat and tell me what news had brought you to my presence” he commanded.
This is an interesting development. Now I have him just where I wanted him. Just a minute ago he was playing hard to get and now he is begging for me to stay. He might want to act like he is in control, but I am the one that is playing the music that he is dancing vigorously to.
I cat walked back to my seat. But he remained at the door to prevent me from going out.
With a feeling of pride, I revealed. “I actually found out that the luna isn’t what you think she is”
“Damn it” he cursed.
He was filled with rage when I had all along believed that I had a piece of great news. But why was he angry, or did he already know so much about Scarlet? I don’t think so. He places her on such a high pedestal and acts as if she had never known another before him.
His eyes have turned completed red like a wolf that is trying to defend his mate and he growled at me.
I have never seen him react this way before in all my years of knowing him. No, Scarlet cannot be his true mate. There is no way that can ever be possible. He had found her somewhere and had picked her. He was never in love with her when he married her, so what is happening here?
Seeing that I was in a dreadful situation, I started to beg for my life. If he does not want to listen to me, at least he should let me leave in one piece as I was when I came to him. “You have to wait and hear me out. I know you already warned me not to do this but you will be grateful to me by the time you find out about all that I discovered. Or maybe you should just let me go”
He was not listening to me. Instead, he started to draw closer to me in anger.
“Stop it, alpha” I cried.
I must do something, if not I don’t know what would become of me. The person before me is not the Jake that I have always known, the person standing here is a beast, no, a vampire, that is a better description.
I stood up from the chair and started to move closer to the wall in a backward manner.
“This is not you, alpha Jake, what are you going to do to me” I yelled.
When I got to the wall, I practically glued my back to it.
“This is a wolf that you have messed with his mate” he replied still moving closer slowly.
“I did not try to mess with her, believe me. Someone, sorry I mean I just found out about the news by accident.
Oh my god, what was I trying to do? I was about to reveal where I got the news from and now I would have gotten my informant into a very big trouble.
Right now, I don’t want to say anything to him anymore. In fact, I have not heard any news about Scarlet. He should just stop and let me leave with my life fully intact.
I promise that if I should leave here in one piece, I will go very far away from this Packhouse. I don’t care about his money again and I am going to leave Black Moon Pack never to show my face here again.
“And where did the news come from?” he growled.
“No one, alpha. See, it is nothing. Just let me go and I promise not to bother you again. You can even keep the money, I don’t need it. I promise” I whined.
He smirked. “Really,” he said and stopped.
“Yes, I promise. I will not bother you again” I replied.
“And what is this news that you have heard?” he asked.
ALPHA JAKE’S POV
“And where did the news come from?” I snarled.
I was already getting closer to her, with my mind contemplating what I will do to her. I would have thought to kill her, but Scarlet would never approve of such. I pray I find it in me to let her go because I can bear being disrespected but in no situation will I tolerate anyone disrespecting my luna.
“No one, alpha. See, it is nothing. Just let me go and I promise not to bother you again. You can even keep the money, I don’t need it. I promise” she screeched.
“Really” I stopped in my track.
So much for desiring to be free. How the hell does she think she will survive without my support? But that seems like a fair price to pay for daring to look down on my luna.
“Yes, I promise. I will not bother you again” she responded.
“And what is this news that you have heard?” I inquired.
I don’t know why, but a part of me was curious and was eager to hear the news about Scarlet.
Or maybe I should just stop her from speaking and go to Scarlet and ask her to tell me all I needed to know about her. But then, she might misunderstand my intent and think that I am more concerned about her past.
However, knowing who Violet was, I should be one hundred percent sure that she does not have any meaningful information.
“What?” she murmured. She must have thought that I was not going to ask of the news.
“Yes, say it. You came here to tell me something right? So go on with it” I replied.
“Okay,” she murmured and hesitated for a while.
“I don’t have all day, Violet,” I said.
“Actually, the thing is I found out that Scarlet…” she began but I cut in.
“Correct yourself,” I said.
“Sorry, alpha. I found out that you are not the first man for the luna” she revealed.
“What?” I asked.
“The luna has an ex-lover and that is alpha Ray. She was always with him before she married you. So she is not as innocent as she made herself to appear” she replied.
I did not say any word but walked back to the door and opened it. I should have known better than to expect any meaningful thing from Violet. And now I have just succeeded in wasting a good part of my day on frivolities.
As soon as the door was open, I pointed outside signally for her to leave.
She got the message and stood up. At least now we are clear on being time conscious.
As she was stepping out of the door, I said to her. “And wait”
She stopped and looked at me.
“For the part of not needing my money anymore, I just want to let you know that I am going to accept it. That seems like a fair price for daring to look down on your luna” I informed her.
Her mouth opened in disbelief and in anger, she turned and walked away.
But what was she thinking that I was going to continue to fund her even after what she has just done? That girl must be a clown and a very terrible one at that.
I inhaled and with a feeling of satisfaction, I shut the door and went inside.
