ALPHA JAKE’S POV
“And what do you want here?” I asked.
I was backing the entrance of my chambers and as I hear her walk in, I rolled my chair and faced her.
She was there and just like always, looking beautiful. She was once mine and I had shared my world with her. However, all that is in the past now and I don’t want her anymore.
After the last encounter with her at the club, I have blatantly refused to honour any of her requests to see me. I wonder why she was been stubborn about this. I already made my decision about our relationship known to her but she just does not want to accept it.
She had sent a message to me stating that why she wanted to see me is very important and it is for the good of Black Moon. She persisted in resending the letter and even though I had initially ignored the message and refused to take her seriously, I had to later give in to her request and fixed this meeting with her in my chambers.
She is a member of Black Moon, right? And so she should be allowed to make her input to benefit the Pack.
“Good day, alpha” she greeted.
She looked at the seat before her and then looked at me. She wanted my approval before she sits but I am not in the mood to make her any comfortable with me. I want her out of my sight as soon as I can make it happen and giving her a seat might prolong such possibility.
“You know I was wondering why you could not include the message that you feel was very crucial in one of your numerous letters,” I said.
“At least I should be offered a seat first” she rolled her eyes.
She knows just how much I hate to see her do that, I hate it when she rolls her eyes on me. But all that was over now, it is her body and she is free to utilize it whichever way she deems fit. So I acted like I hadn’t noticed her, I ignored her rudeness and concentrated on the issue before us.
“Unless you only want to waste my time, I think a seat should be the least of your problems now. See, Violet, even till now I take care of hundred percent of your bills without my luna knowing. What more do you want” I asked.
I don’t seem to ever understand her. She lives a lavishing life all thanks to my benevolence. There is no need pretending about it, she was with me for the money and the money has not stopped flowing. Why then is she refusing to get contented?
Even now, my luna does not know how much I spend on her. And I don’t know what her reaction would be when she finds out. I hope to stop funding her lifestyle once she gets herself a mate. But sadly, with the way she continues to frolic over me, that does not appear like it is going to happen any soon.
Without waiting for my approval, she took her seat and said. “It is not about that…” she wanted to explain but I stopped her.
“Then it is about what?” I fired. “Admit it, Violet. You never had any feelings for me. It was all fun to you, it was nothing but fun for the both of us. You wanted the money and you still have the money. I am not going to sit here and watch you guilt trap me for your own greed” I yelled.
Yes, that is what she has been trying to achieve so desperately. She wants to blackmail me emotionally. But it is never going to work and the earlier she accepts that, the better for her.
“You’ve got to believe me, alpha Jake, I am not here for any of that, I am not here for us” she replied.
“Are you for real?” I inquired.
Ironically, she seemed to appear very serious. But then, what else could be more important to her than herself? Maybe she has become less selfish and really has something important to say to me about the Pack as she claimed. Then since she is here for the purpose of the Pack, I have no other choice but to grant her audience.
“Yes, alpha, I am not here to waste your time” she replied firmly.
“Okay, let’s say that I want to listen to you, so can you in one sentence tell me what the issue that you so much desire to share with me is all about? Because as far as we are concerned, the only thing that bothers you is you” I requested.
I know who she is, and I must not allow her to play any of her tricks on me. If she cannot say the gist of her supposedly important message in one sentence, then she has nothing important to say.
Instead of replying to my request, she placed her hands on her face and bent her face downwards.
I was right. For a moment I had thought that she was here with some vital information. But why has she chosen not to give up, why is it difficult for her to understand that I have found my path and that my life would have to go on without her playing any role in it?
Now I would have no choice but to send her out of my chamber and make a decree stopping her from ever appearing before me again. Not in the Packhouse and not anywhere else. At least that would be the only way for me to be able to maintain my sanity and keep it in check from jobless folks like her.
“You have completely overstayed your welcome woman, now you can get up and leave” I ordered.
Terrified, she flashed her eyes at me and she shook her head in disapproval. What was she thinking? That I was going to sit here and listen to her say nothing. I have time for important issues alone.
“You heard me, no need to repeat myself,” I said.
She still continued to stare at me in bewilderment and did not put up any defense.
“Or do I get my guards to throw you out?” I asked.
She saw how serious I was and started to panic.
“It is about the luna, alpha, my news is about the luna” she finally brought herself to respond. And having said this, she stood up to leave as I have commanded.
At the mention of the luna, my heart skipped a beat. What news might she have about the luna? Is anyone after the luna or is the luna in any form of trouble?
Now I don’t want her to go. I want to know everything that has to do with my luna. If there is news about the luna, then she must stay and finish it.
I rushed to the door and blocked the exit. “Tell me about the luna. What is the news that you have about the luna?” I pleaded.
“But I thought you don’t want to hear anything from me anymore?” she asked.
This was not the time for games. She has news pertaining to my luna and she must reveal it to me. And whether it is by hook or by crook, I must make her do that.
“Just speak, Violet” I yelled.
She giggled and tried to walk past me. “Leave the way, alpha Jake. You already asked me to leave your presence” she said.
“And now I order you to go back to that seat and tell me what news had brought you to my presence” I ordered.
She grinned and reluctantly walked back to her seat. I remained at the door and waited for her to begin.
“I actually found out that the luna isn’t what you think she is” she began.
