Going to get themselves chained up, Aiden asked, “Is Kira going to be okay? I really did not mean to hurt her.”
Bryan sighed, “I know, and she will be fine, don’t worry, let’s just get through this first, and we will check up on her, she’s not alone right now either.”
“Alright, let’s do that”, Aiden nodded in agreement, satisfied with Bryan’s answers and most, especially the fact that Kira was not alone.
With their mind at ease, they focused on their situation and according to the information given to them by the witch, the work of the injection was to help control their curse, also to reduce the frequency or intensity of the curse. It could also make it more bearable for them.
And also a warning from the witch was they would need to chain themselves up after taking the injection just to be on the safer side as the effects of the injection is unpredictable, and they could lose control during the process.
Chaining themselves up is a way to prevent themselves from harming others and the room was strong, built for the purpose to keep them in it if it came to that.
“The way this curse works is actually perplexing, it makes it harder to figure numerous things out,” Aiden said to his brother as they got ready to chain themselves, since the aftermath of the injection was coming up.
Bryan’s head was not hurting as much as before and Aiden seemed to have a little control of his mind now.
“I agree. Since we turned eighteen this whole curse stuff started, and we have been trying to figure it out, but it just keeps, should I say surprising us. I never knew we would actually need to go this far just to take back control of our mind, literally,” Bryan said exhausted.
“Well we have to do everything in our power to find a solution for this. If not for Morane who found out about it, we would have never found out that we were even cursed in the first place and that we needed to put an end to this curse,” Aiden said while kissing his teeth frustrated.
“I know right? But still, she has not found out how this happened, why it is happening, when it happens, like it will really make it hard if we do not know more information, we haven’t been able to fi-…ah”, Bryan cut whatever he was saying short as he felt like his insides were about to blow up.
“What is it?”, Aiden asked, his browsed raised as he watched his brother’s movements, “What is i-”
Before Aiden, himself could figure out what was happening to Bryan he felt his claws extend forcefully and growled loudly against his will. His head immediately snapped up, looking at the ceiling.
“The chains Aiden, now!”, Bryan groaned, “we either control the curse, or it controls us.”
Aiden looked back at his brother, his fangs extending as he growled once more, “I hate this shit.”
“Not more than I do brother”, Bryan uttered, managing to let out a strangled chuckle.
They each grabbed the length of the silver chain, knowing fully well the pain silver causes to their kind. With a deep breath, they clasped the chains around their wrists, the searing burn immediate and intense.
Bryan and Aiden swallowed the growl that threatened to come out from their mouth as they took the pain from both the chains, the injection they took and the curse.
The silver chains bit into their skin, leaving angry red marks as they tightened the chains, securing themselves to the cold stone wall.
Heavy breaths, eyes closing as the pain was sharp, like something was piercing through their veins, their jaws clenching.
As the injection started taking hold of them, their muscles spasmed and their eyes immediately darkened. One could hear how hard their breaths came out, especially in ragged gasps. They themselves could hear it.
“Arghhhhh”, they growled and screamed, fighting it and staying in control.
“Are you sure we should have done this?”, Aiden asked his brother breathlessly and hissed right after he asked as the silver chain burned his wrist.
“It got out of hand, we could not control it, we had no choice. I know she said if we could fight it, then we do not need the injections and chains,” Bryan answered, his eyes closed as he kept enduring the pain, “But we could not, we haven’t figured out everything yet, you lost it and almost choked Kira to death and my head almost exploded, I could hardly stay in control of my mind.”
“Maybe if we learn to control it and also stay in control whenever the curse decides to act up, then we won’t need to do this. This is just for rare occasions like this I suppose”, Aiden grunted out.
“It is, but do we really have to talk about this right now?”, Bryan opened his eyes, turned his face to his side and shot his brother a glare, “Save your energy to get through this.”
“You have no idea ho-…”, Aiden fell to the ground immediately on his knees and screamed out as he felt a strong hit of pain.
“Told you to shut up”, Bryan muttered under his breath, unable to laugh. This was really not the time to laugh, “But serve you right.”
“F*CK you Bryan”, Aiden groaned. He could not even put much force into the f*CK you, he said, it sounded so off, which made Bryan chuckled breathlessly.
They were that way for like ten to twenty minutes before they finally started feeling much better and uncuffed themselves and got up.
Due to them being able to heal very fast, the burns the silver chains inflicted on them in less than five minutes healed.
They rubbed their wrist, cracked their necks, feeling more relaxed and more themselves.
Bryan went somewhere in the room and grabbed throw bottles of water, throwing one to his brother to catch, “Here!”
Aiden caught the bottle of water and opened it, drinking everything at a go, “Damn, that was needed”, he let out a breath, “Where did you even get this?”, he asked Bryan referring to the water.
“Just In case we got thirsty and required one after we are done with the whole chains and injections,” Bryan said with a shrug and gulped down his bottle of water.
Aiden started pretending to vomit, making sounds like, “guuughh, urghh, eughhh.”
“What exactly are you doing?”, Bryan asked him, watching him like maybe the curse had actually succeeded in taking some part of his brain.
“How long has this bottle of water been there Bryan?”
Bryan let out a short, sharp laugh. More like a scoff, his head tilted slightly to the side. The sound was barely out of his mouth before the smile faded, and he shook his head after finally understanding why Aiden was acting the way he did.
“Sometimes I am not sure how you are my twin Aiden, I am really not sure”, Bryan uttered, still shaking his head, “I will have to go ask our parents.”
Aiden started laughing while walking up to Bryan and patting his shoulder, “I live to frustrate your life. Now let’s go check on Kira.”
