Aiden and Bryan left the room, making sure the door was properly locked.
“Alphas”, the guards and maids greeted as they walked past them, heading to Kira’s room.
When they finally arrived, Aiden knocked softly on the door, as he and Bryan both waited.
The door opened, and they were met with their mother, Elara.
“How is she?”, Aiden immediately asked his mother who let out a sigh.
“Are you both not supposed to be careful? How could it get this far?”, Elara asked them.
She understood what they were going through, she knew about it, but she just wanted what was best for them and Kira as well. She did not want them to ruin things with Kira, especially as it was already ruined. Now this whole stuff just added more problems.
“How is she going to accept you both now? How?”, Elara scolded them, her voice low but sharp, “She has not even forgiven you or us, our family, the pack, she still wants to leave, this does not help in getting her to stay and accept you both as her mate.”
“Then we will make her stay Mother, no matter what, we can not lose her and you know it. She is out mate!”, Aiden said, not wanting any arguments with his mother because right now, he just felt she was talking from a place of anger and was not considering them either.
“It was not intentional Mother and you know this. We will make her stay, just like Aiden has said, that’s it”, Bryan spoke up, he was starting to get annoyed with the way his mother was speaking, “You know very well that it becomes difficult to control, you understand what is happening, and we are trying our best, we are in pain too.”
He dragged out the last sentence, pointing out his annoyance.
“Mother!”, Aiden called out to her, “Everything will get better, just trust us.”
Elara just stared at her sons for some seconds and provided them with the information they needed, “She was scared at first to open the door, thinking it was both of you, but hearing my voice and with some convincing words, she let me in. She’s asleep now.”
With that said, she left.
Bryan closed his eyes softly and took a deep breath to calm himself, “Does she really have to be like this?”
“Let’s just go see how Kira is doing,” Aiden told his brother.
“I know she wants what’s best, but we do too, she should just let us do things the way we want, it’s our mate. We are the Alphas, so please…we will do whatever it takes to make things right, and now we have found our mates, we will try harder”, Bryan spoke out, getting himself now worked up and angry.
“Relax your mind Brother, you know how Mother is sometimes”, Aiden chortled and ruffled his hair, “Alright?”
“Yeah, sure”, Bryan waved the whole thing aside and they went inside.
They saw Kira’s sleepless form on the bed and went to her, careful not to wake her up.
Bryan remained standing while Aiden sat down at the edge, close enough to touch her. He first brushed her hair and traced his hand down to her neck, remembering what had happened earlier.
His touch was very soft and calm, she deserved the rest after all she had been through.
“I’m sorry, mate”, he muttered softly, regretting his actions as his hands touched her neck slightly. He noticed small red marks as to the force he had put when he lost control and choked her.
He could feel his heart hurt at the sight, like something pierced it.
They watched her for a few seconds before agreeing to leave and give her some space. Aiden kissed her forehead and so did Bryan before they finally left the room.
Immediately they left, Kira’s eyes snapped open and she wiped her forehead. She had managed to pretend to be asleep and thought they would never leave.
From the moment they walked in, she had woken up but on hearing their voice, she pretended to still be asleep. She would rather not see them or even speak to them, good thing they were gone now. Especially Aiden.
At some point when she moved, she thought they would notice but instead that even made them decide to leave and not disturb her.
“I can’t even do what I want in this prison”, Kira muttered to herself, still on the bed, under the covers while looking around the room, “I really need to find a way to leave as soon as possible. I need a plan or something, there has to be a way to end this bond and leave or just leave, and maybe the bond will sort itself out or whatever”, she quickly ended the topic, pulling on her hair.
She was starting to feel frustrated with everything and the more she thought about it, the more she confused herself.
The bond creates this intense, instinctual connection, and it makes it difficult for Kira to physically and emotionally distance herself from her Alpha twin mates. It was just like an invisible thread that constantly pulled her back to them, and she really did not want to feel anything at all, even when she leaves, nothing.
And seeing as she keeps resisting and fighting the bond, the bond’s restrictive effects now start, like her getting in heat, longing and yearning for them, if she finally leaves might even motivate her to return, some emotional discomfort, and so on.
Those were the thoughts that ran through her head and she just needed a way to end that stupid bond to be free. If she leaves with it, then she will never be free, how far can she even go with that stupid bond?
“Stupid and unwanted connection, I did not ask for any of this. I don’t want anything that connects me to them, anything that reminds me of their presence in my life, I do not want it”, Rolling her eyes she turned and laid on her back, staring at the ceiling and whispered softly, feeling hopeless and tired of everything, “I really did not ask for this.”
As she just laid in bed, bored out of mind and thinking of ways she could return to how her life was before she met the Alpha twins again, a thought came into her head.
“That’s true,” she agreed with the thoughts, stunned and confused, “How is it that I never experienced heat cycles before, but I got marked by them and then boom, I experienced it. Just how?”
