“How dare you!” The elderly man spat out a mouthful of blood. “You dare to kill members of the Heavens Sect? You must be tired of living!”
“Heavens Sect?” Billy’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Perfect. Answer a few questions, and I’ll let you live. Deal?”
“Just kill me already and stop wasting time!” the gray-robed elder said sternly.
“Your wish is my command!” Jennifer responded, striking out with her palm, instantly turning the gray-robed elder into nothingness.
Billy was speechless. “That was quick.”
Jennifer then walked over to another man standing a dozen meters away. “Will you answer a few questions?”
“No matter who you are, you dare kill members of the Heavens Sect…” The man gritted his teeth.
Before he could finish his sentence, he too turned into a mist of blood.
After killing five or six people in a row, someone finally couldn’t take it anymore. “I’ll talk, I’ll talk! What do you want to know?”
“Why are you here?” Jennifer asked.
“We… we were just passing by…” the man responded.
“Still lying? Do you want to die?” Jennifer’s killing intent surged as she raised her hand, ready to strike.
“I’ll talk…” the man hurriedly shouted. “It’s… it’s the nether clan. They sent us out to patrol…”
“Patrol?” Jennifer frowned slightly. “What do you mean? Be specific!”
“A while ago, several forces in The Wilderness joined hands to break the seal on the nether clan, but we underestimated their strength,” the man explained.
“In less than a month after being unsealed, the nether clan swept through the top forces in The Wilderness with overwhelming power.”
“Now, the nether clan is the dominant force in The Wilderness. All other forces, including our Heavens Sect, have submitted to them.”
“The nether clan wants complete control over The Wilderness, so they ordered us to patrol and eliminate any forces that refuse to submit.”
“Where is the nether clan’s base? What about their high-level combat strength?” Billy asked.
“I don’t know where their base is. I only know they have a stronghold in Wilderness City. I don’t know about their high-level combat strength,” the man replied.
“Have you heard of someone named Sanaa?” Billy continued to ask.
“I’ve heard of her!” The man nodded. “The reason we unsealed the nether clan was to counter her!”
“Do you know where she is?” Billy pressed.
“I don’t know!” The man shook his head. “You can check Wilderness City.”
“Have Desert City and Border City been taken over by the nether clan?” Billy asked again.
“Yes!” The man nodded. “More than half of the cities in The Wilderness have already submitted!”
“Go back and tell your people that Billy has come to The Wilderness. If they want the Nine Dragons Cauldron, they can come find me!”
As Billy spoke, his eyes narrowed slightly, and the Nine Dragons Cauldron appeared not far in front of him.
There were three purposes for this.
First, to prevent people from The Wilderness from sending more people to Silent Ruins Sky Realm to search for him. Although the seal on the passage in Silent Ruins Sky Realm had been repaired, no one could guarantee it could withstand high-level experts. If the nether clan had experts at the Source Realm or even higher, whether the seal could hold was unknown.
Second, to divert some attention away from Sanaa and her group, as the allure of the Nine Dragons Cauldron was also significant for the nether clan.
Third, to pass information to Sanaa so they could contact him.
“You… you’re really Billy?” Seeing the Nine Dragons Cauldron, the man no longer doubted Billy’s words.
“Get lost!” Billy put away the Nine Dragons Cauldron and said.
“Th-thank you for sparing my life!” The man quickly said.
Soon after, Billy and Jennifer continued flying towards Border City.
“The people of The Wilderness are reaping what they sowed. They hoped the nether clan would help them deal with Miss Sanaa, but before they could even face her, they shot themselves in the foot!” Billy said.
“They should have been prepared for this!” Jennifer said thoughtfully.
“Releasing the nether clan was partly to deal with Miss Sanaa and partly to rely on them to resist the Heaven Alliance.”
“Resist the Heaven Alliance?” Billy was slightly taken aback.
“Yes!” Jennifer nodded.
“The Wilderness is no longer suitable for living. The people here have two choices: go to a sixth-tier star domain or return to a seventh-tier star domain!”
“Relatively speaking, they prefer returning to a seventh-tier star domain because it’s better in every way compared to a sixth-tier star domain!”
“But to return to a seventh-tier star domain, they first have to face the Heaven Alliance, and with their own strength, it’s unrealistic. They can only rely on the nether clan!”
“I understand!” Billy nodded.
Two or three hours later, they entered Border City.
The city wasn’t very large. Perhaps because the nether clan had only recently taken control, patrols were frequently seen on the streets.
After asking a shopkeeper about the location of the teleportation portal to Desert City, Billy and Jennifer flew there.
A few minutes later, they landed a kilometer away from the portal. As described by the shopkeeper, many guards were stationed there.
According to the shopkeeper, since taking control of The Wilderness, the nether clan had regulated all teleportation portals in major cities. To use them, one needed a pass from the City Lord’s Mansion.
“Ma’am, should we get a pass from the City Lord’s Mansion first or…” Billy looked at Jennifer.
“No need. We’ll go directly!” Jennifer said as she walked forward.
“Stop!” A man shouted as he saw them approaching.
Before he could finish his sentence, Jennifer struck out with her palm, sending him flying a kilometer away.
“Hmm?!” The other twenty or thirty guards hesitated for a moment before charging at them.
After a series of muffled sounds, bodies flew in all directions. Jennifer didn’t kill them but rendered them incapable of fighting.
“Courting death!” An elderly voice rang out as the space around Jennifer distorted.
“Scram!” Jennifer waved her hand, causing the space to collapse and a wave of energy to burst forth.
After a loud bang, the elder who had charged at them was sent flying, leaving a trail of blood in mid-air.
The elder was in charge of this teleportation portal and had first-rank Prime Source Realm cultivation.
“Who are you?” The elder steadied himself, his face showing a hint of seriousness.
“Move aside and live! Otherwise, die!” Jennifer said calmly.
“Do you know the consequences of what you’re doing?” The elder asked.
“Let’s go!” Jennifer ignored him and turned to Billy before flying towards the teleportation portal. Billy followed closely behind.
“… ” The elder opened his mouth but eventually closed it and took out a sound transmission stone from his body.
Several hours later, Billy and Jennifer emerged from the teleportation portal into mid-air.
Billy looked around and saw an endless desert. Even the weeds and water pools he had seen before were gone, and the spiritual energy was extremely thin.
The sky was filled with yellow sand, and in the distance, he could vaguely see a city-Desert City.
Billy could sense several strong presences around them, with the strongest being at third-rank Prime Source Realm and five or six others at early Prime Source Realm levels.
This was indeed The Wilderness; even randomly encountered opponents had so many Prime Source Realm experts!
These people had clearly received word from Border City and were waiting here specifically for them.
“We’re already out here. Why are you still hiding?” Jennifer scanned her surroundings.
