When he saw her safe and sound, Corey’s anxious heart was finally put at ease.
Following that, he turned around and glared angrily at Yunis, rebuking him in a stern voice, “Get lost or I’ll bash you until you’re squirming on the ground!”
But why would Yunis leave willingly?
If a man was beaten, it meant that his dignity had been trampled underfoot.
Moreover, he was the boyfriend of his ex-fiancée. It made it even more humiliating.
He could not swallow this humble pie, no matter how hard he tried.
So he swung his fist and bellowed, charging towards Corey.
“Be careful, Corey,” Rosiley cried out in alarm.
“Don’t worry, sister-in-law. He won’t be able to defeat me.” Corey smiled at her and then gave his opponent a stern look. By the time Yunis’s fist flew over, he had already raised his hand to calmly parry it. Then, he lifted his long leg and kicked.
Yunis flew back, crashing heavily into his car.
After that, he slid down his car like a ragdoll and sat on the ground.
When she saw this, Rosiley turned back, unable to bear to look. “Damn it, that must have really hurt.”
“Yunis, if I see you again, I will beat you up,” Corey threatened coldly and harshly.
Yunis stood up, propping himself on the car. He glared coldly at Corey. Although he was unwilling to accept this outcome, he also knew he was no match for Corey.
He glanced at Rosiley beside him, then turned and opened the car door, getting in. He started the engine and drove away.
Watching Yunis leave, Rosiley heaved a long sigh of relief. She could not help but lament, “I’ve really been unlucky today.”
“Yes, today’s not been your day.” Corey nodded his head noncommittally. Then he asked, “sister-in-law, why did this cad come and look for you?”
Rosiley pouted her lower lip and said indifferently, “Nothing. He just wanted me to have dinner with him.”
“Jeeze! He’s got some nerve!” Corey spat.
Rosiley could not help but laugh. “He has always been so thick-skinned.”
Saying that, she turned around and saw a familiar figure not too far away.
She started and then shouted, “Xiaoxiao, how come you’re here too?”
When he heard her, Corey turned his head and followed her line of sight, only to see Ying Xiaoxiao stroll over.
“Rosiley, are you alright?” Ying Xiaoxiao asked.
Rosiley smiled and shook her head. “Luckily, Corey came just in time, so I’m fine.”
Ying Xiaoxiao looked up at Corey, vague emotions surging in her eyes. She curved her mouth into a smile. “Corey, you must feel good after acting like a knight rescuing a damsel in distress!”
A knight rescuing a damsel in distress? Corey frowned. “I was just helping my sister-in-law. What do you mean, a knight rescuing a damsel in distress?”
Rosiley also looked puzzledly at Ying Xiaoxiao. She did not understand why she would say such a thing. She even felt her tone to be quite rude.
“Could it be… ?”
She looked at Corey and then at Ying Xiaoxiao, whose brows were slightly knitted. “Is Xiaoxiao jealous?”
“If she is really jealous, things will get pretty interesting!”
Rosiley smiled secretly and then said to them. “I’m leaving first. You two can chat amongst yourselves.”
Then she gave Ying Xiaoxiao a meaningful look. “Xiao, I am Corey’s sister-in-law.”
As her voice faded, she waved her hand and turned to walk to her car.
Ying Xiaoxiao’s expression turned very awkward because of what she had said. She had not expected Rosiley to read her mind, making her too ashamed to show her face.
If Rosiley were to meet with any danger, she would also unhesitatingly rush up to help—not to mention Corey.
But when she saw Corey beating Yunis up because of Rosiley, she felt somewhat displeased for some strange reason.
Even though she knew that Rosiley was his sister-in-law, she still could not control her irritation.
She couldn’t help despising herself. How could she be jealous of Rosiley!
