Chapter 2337: The Kitten Replied to the Email

Seeing the photo of Bubu, healthy and cute, a bit chubbier than before, Tom Fritz felt much better. “Up so early on a Saturday?” Tom sent a few words and suddenly remembered her profession, a comic artist working at Marsh Group. He was stunned. Could these two people be the same person?
Soon, Agnes sent him a video of Bubu. Tom opened it and saw the kitten in good spirits, meowing softly at the camera as if it knew the video was for him. A faint smile appeared on Tom’s lips. Agnes replied with a message: “I went to bed early last night, so I woke up naturally. When will Professor Fritz return to the lab?”
Tom thought for a moment and replied: “Within a week.” The girl edited another message: “Safe travels and good luck with your work. I’ll take good care of the kitten for you. Thank you.”
There was no further reply from Agnes, ending their morning chat with Tom Fritz’s “Thank you.” As he flipped through Bubu’s photos, Tom’s mood grew heavy again. His thoughts were no longer on the cat but on the sunflower avatar that matched the one in his inbox from Bubu. Were they the same person? Could he even ask about this?
The more Tom Fritz thought about it, the less likely it seemed that they were the same person. Over four hundred emails had gone unanswered over seven years; how could they suddenly meet now? Even TV dramas wouldn’t dare write such a plot.
With an hour and a half until ten in the morning, Tom Fritz turned on his computer and started reading emails from seven years ago, one by one in chronological order. He noticed something: after reading thirty or forty emails, he saw that the girl’s initial worry and concern slowly turned into longing… Later on, her emails contained words of affection.
Tom Fritz could feel that she was gradually expressing some of her inner thoughts. Her feelings for him might have been there from the beginning… With mixed emotions, he clicked on “Reply.” Though he hadn’t read all her emails, he felt it necessary to respond to at least one to let her know he was safe.
So he thought for a moment and placed his slender fingers on the keyboard-
“Hello Bubu, this is the kitten. I received your 478 emails. I’m sorry for replying so late because I just saw them now. My social media account was hacked seven years ago and I only recently managed to reset my password. It was an honor to accompany you through those years of youth, and I’m sorry to have worried you for seven years. I’m doing well; I hope you are too.”
Tom Fritz didn’t write much more. After reviewing these few short lines, he clicked “Send.” Soon there was a notification that the email had been successfully sent.
Even though he had replied, his mood didn’t improve much. Though he hadn’t done anything wrong, he still felt a sense of guilt for letting someone down.
Today, Agnes accompanied Summer to try on wedding dresses; Spencer was also there. They visited the wedding venue, which was almost fully decorated-grand, spectacular, and very expensive.
“Are you satisfied?” Spencer asked with a smile.
From the moment she entered, Summer was deeply moved by the traditional courtyard-style wedding setup-a grand wedding with all its pomp and ceremony.
“Very satisfied,” Summer said, her beautiful eyes misty with tears as she looked at him. “And very touched.”
