Ruby and Jaxon entered the doctor’s office hand-in-hand, their anticipation was not hidden as they waited for the moment when they would learn the gender of their unborn child. Ruby was vibrating with excitement and she felt like she couldn’t stand still anymore.
Jaxon was no different but he was doing a great job concealing his excitement as he stared at his smiling wife.
The doctor greeted them with a smile. She guided them to the exam table and started arranging the equipment for the ultrasound.
“Please lay down on the bed Ruby and lift up your shirt.” Jaxon helped her to gently lay down and lifted her beautiful maternity gown. He smiled down at her and sat beside her.
Ruby excitedly squeezed his hand that was in hers and Jaxon placed a soft kiss on her forehead in return. The female doctor smiled at their interaction. She could feel the love rolling off them in waves and she felt happy for them.
“Are you ready to find out the gender?” the doctor asked, a hint of excitement in her voice as she gently squeezed a small amount of gel onto Ruby’s baby bump.
Ruby shivered at the cold feeling and sighed when it heated up against her skin. The doctor smiled apologetically and slowly started moving a wand that was connected to the machine screen around her stomach.
She gasped at the picture that was visible before her and her lips curved up into a small smile as she paid close attention to the screen.
“I have two amazing pieces of news for you both!” The doctor said excitedly and Ruby smiled as she excitedly looked at the doctor.
The doctor turned the screen in their direction.
“Congratulations you are having a beautiful baby girl… I mean you are pregnant with twin girls!” Jaxon froze with excitement and Ruby started smiling with happy tears rolling down her face.
“This is baby number one and this is baby number two.” The doctor pointed at the screen and both Ruby and Jaxon couldn’t take their eyes off it. Their eyes were filled with joy and wonder.
They had come for their baby’s gender but who knew they would be receiving even more exciting news.
They were both filled with love and adoration as they stared at their beautiful babies displayed on the screen. Jaxon tightened his hold around Ruby’s hand. She looked up at him and she almost melted at how lovingly he was staring at the screen.
“Would you like to hear their heartbeat?” The doctor asked and the couple happily nodded. She pressed a button and two soft heartbeats resonated round the room.
It sounded like music to both their ears and the doctor was happy to be the one that had given them such great news.
“Would you like some pictures?” She asked politely and Ruby nodded. She couldn’t wait to share this amazing news with the rest of their family.
The doctor turned off the machine and wiped off the gel from her stomach. Jaxon helped Ruby to sit on the bed with her legs dangling over the edge and the doctor excused herself to her desk.
“We are having twins.” Jaxon softly whispered and Ruby smiled as she pulled him and connected their foreheads.
“We’re having two beautiful princesses.” Ruby exclaimed. Her heart fluttered in excitement and she could tell Jaxon was just as excited with the new.
Jaxon pulled her to her feet and wrapped his arms around her, his voice a tender murmur as he whispered into her ears.
“I can’t wait to meet our little princesses. They are going to be the most beautiful, amazing girls in the world. Just like their mom.”
“Thank you for coming into my life Gem, you have filled my life with so much joy and I couldn’t have asked for more in a life partner. I love you and I’ll forever cherish you.” His voice was filled with raw emotions.
Ruby couldn’t contain her joy anymore as she pulled Jaxon’s head down and pulled him into a kiss. Their lips moved in sync against each other as they both tried to convey their happiness and joy into the kiss. They pulled away and Jaxon placed a lingering kiss on her forehead before he led her to the doctor.
“First and foremost, make sure to eat a balanced diet rich in nutrients and vitamins,”The doctor instructed, her words filled with an air of authority and care.
“Avoid processed foods and sugary snacks, and make sure to stay hydrated. Exercise regularly, but not to the point of exhaustion. Get plenty of rest, and if you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to call me.” The doctor said and Jaxon nodded as he processed all the instructions.
The doctor passed him a paper containing all the instructions and necessary vitamins he needed to get for Ruby.
“Thank you doctor.”
They were both overjoyed as Jaxon drove out of the hospital. Their hands were tightly clasped together and they had beautiful smiles on their faces. Jaxon decided to get something nice for Ruby.
He remembered seeing a flower shop on their way to the hospital.
He stopped beside the shop and left Ruby in the car. She wanted to tag along but he told her to relax and wait for her surprise.
Jaxon strolled into a flower shop. His eyes quickly scanned the rows of flowers and his nose twitched as several appealing scents filled his senses.
He walked to the counter and a man welcomed him with a polite smile.
“Welcome to our shop sir, how may I help you?” The man asked.
“I would love to get a bouquet for my wife. Do you have white lilies and white roses?” The man nodded and Jaxon’s lips twitched.
He walked out of the shop with a beautiful bouquet of roses and lilies beautifully arranged. He tapped on Ruby’s window and opened the door.
Ruby’s eyes widened in excitement as she stared at the beautiful flowers. They were her favorites. She collected the bouquet and brought it to her nose. The smell washed her senses and she was filled with warmth.
She dropped the bouquet on the driver’s seat and pulled Jaxon into a passionate kiss. They both smiled into the kiss.
They were both happy and they couldn’t wait for their bundle of love to arrive and complete them.
