Months have passed and Ruby couldn’t be happier. Things have been going well and life has been good and most importantly peaceful. It was everything she had ever wanted and today was a special day.
They would finally know the gender of their baby and Ruby was excited. She couldn’t wait to know if she would be having a little prince or a beautiful princess. She smiled softly as she caressed her protruding baby bump.
Ruby’s eyes were filled with a maternal glow, a soft, radiant light that speaks of the joy and anticipation that filled her heart as she gently caressed her stomach.
She was standing before the large mirror in their room wearing black shorts and a sports bra.
Her lips curved into a smile as she turned sideways and admired the size of her stomach, she couldn’t believe she had life growing within her.
Ruby was grateful for this gift. She continued to gently use her fingers to trace her stomach as if she was touching her child. She gazed into the mirror with a look of wonder.
The bathroom door opened and Jaxon walked out with a towel wrapped around his waist. He had already dried his body and hair in the bathroom and Ruby felt disappointed. She enjoyed seeing him dripping wet, it had a strange appeal to her.
“Do you think I’m fat?” Ruby asked as she ran her hand over a stretch mark on the lower part of her stomach. Jaxon stared at her dumbfounded.
“I’m fat, right? I feel so fat and heavy! My body has been going through so many changes and I feel and look so different. Do I look repulsive to you? Do you still find me attractive?” Ruby sadly mumbled and Jaxon’s heart clenched in his chest.
“You are not fat Gem, you are carrying our baby, nurturing our child, and being an amazing mother. That is the most attractive thing I’ve ever witnessed and I’m glad we are doing it together. It is natural for you to look a bit different, baby. It’s a sign that our child is healthy and you are still the most beautiful woman alive in my eyes.” Jaxon’s voice is filled with love and adoration as he gently pulls her into his arms, encircling his arms around her as he showered her with words of love and reassurance.
Ruby sighed as she melted into his arms. He tried to pull her as close as her six-month-old belly could allow.
“You are beautiful. Strong. Sweet. Adorable. Attractive. I can’t even take my eyes off you even for a second! You are glowing and I basically have to turn into Hulk whenever we are outside so I can keep other men away… why do you have to be so pretty?” Jaxon murmured, his lips brushing against her skin in a gentle kiss as he cradled her belly in his hands.
Ruby giggled sweetly and Jaxon smiled softly as he stared into her sparkling eyes.
“I love you, Gem,” Jaxon whispered.
“I love you more babe,” Ruby whispered shyly. Jaxon pulled away from the hug and knelt before her with his hands still gently cradling her baby bump. He had a look of pure love and adoration in his eyes as he leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on her stomach.
“Hey there little one, can you hear me? You have the most beautiful woman as your mom and we can’t wait to have you here. I can’t wait for you to make our little family complete… I love you so much already.” Jaxon whispered, his voice was a soft, warm melody as he spoke to her stomach and Ruby felt like she might cry at that moment. She didn’t know how she got so lucky but she was glad Jaxon was hers.
He placed another kiss on her baby bump and stood up.
“Go and get ready Gem, we wouldn’t want to be late for our appointment right?” Ruby excitedly nodded and rushed to the wardrobe to get dressed.
They walked out of the house fully dressed and Ruby couldn’t hide her excitement anymore.
She was the one who couldn’t shut up about knowing the gender of the baby so she could properly prepare for their coming and Jaxon being the doting husband that he was, he booked the ultrasound appointment for her.
Ruby’s eyes were bright and radiant with joy as she recounted the kindness and generosity she had been receiving from Jaxon, Keith, Nana, and even Damon.
They had been pampering her nonstop and she felt like gushing about their kind treatments.
Since they came to know about her pregnancy she could count the number of times she was left alone with the guards and maids at home.
Keith and Nana had made it their primary mission to keep her company whenever Jaxon wasn’t around and she could cry at how comforting and sweet their presence was.
They were both so patient with her whenever she was having her mood swings and throwing tantrums like a child and their love and care reminded Ruby of how her parents would treat her if they were still alive.
Ruby felt loved by them. Keith had made it his duty to bake pies and other delectable snacks she loved munching on and it had gotten to a point that she rejected everyone else’s pie.
Keith has never complained and always happily skipped to the kitchen to bake pies for her.
It has become one of their routines. Keith would bake and Ruby would watch and keep him company in the kitchen.
Nana was amazing. She always knew the right meals to cook to satisfy her cravings and the shopping and walks were just a bonus.
Damon has also been available throughout the pregnancy and Ruby was grateful for that. He always came to the house whenever he was free and Ruby could see the excitement in his eyes whenever they spoke about baby things.
All in all, life was great and Ruby was extremely happy with her new family.
