“When did you find out about the contract?” He asked and June stilled.
“I don’t -”
“Don’t start with that bullshit talk of you not knowing what I’m talking about. You know exactly what I’m saying and I’m not going to repeat myself.” He said annoyed.
“I- I” she stammered and Jaxon’s nose flared in irritation.
“Oh, and I don’t have all day so don’t beat around the bush. I would advise you to stop acting like a weak lamb because I know what you did. I know about Serena.” He told her and watched as June’s eyes widened in shock. June remained silent for a while and her mouth kept opening and closing like a fish.
“I-i can explain.” June let out slowly after she managed to find her voice.
“Knock yourself out. Don’t leave out any details when you’re “explaining” yourself, and just so you know, I’m not going to take things lightly with you. Not after what you did. And be careful how you answer this question because your life and company are at stake here.” Jaxon warned.
June was taken aback, her eyes widened in surprise and shock was clearly visible on her face as she struggled to find a response, her heart hammered against her chest as she realized the gravity of the situation she was in.
She had been caught. Jaxon already knew the truth and he was just asking to test her. She felt like she was about to have a nervous breakdown and her legs almost gave out under her weight. She slowly grabbed the chair and turned it towards her weakly. She sat on the chair and cupped her head with both her hands.
“I’m sorry.” June softly whispered and Jaxon sucked in a deep breath.
“I’m so sorry!” June’s voice broke.
“I don’t need your fucking apology! What I need is for you to open your mouth and explain what the hell happened.” Jaxon angrily yelled and June jumped in fright.
“I… uhm found out about… the contract.” Jaxon glared at her and grabbed the chair. He angrily pulled it closer to him and leaned down with a menacing look on his face. June’s fear spiked up as she looked up into Jaxon’s face.
“I didn’t hear you stutter when you were welcoming me and you won’t start now! Open your fucking mouth and speak clearly.” June nodded in fear and Jaxon smirked as he stood straight.
“I overheard you and Damon talking about the contract and I got jealous. I’ve loved you for a very long time and I thought that if anyone should have the privilege of ever getting married to you it should be me. I was filled with rage and I decided to have you followed until I found out about Serena. I got her kidnapped so that you wouldn’t marry her and you would have no option but to come to me when the pressure from your grandpa and the public became too much but you didn’t and I was even more annoyed.” June took small peeks at Jaxon’s face as she spoke.
“I used her to take out my anger and I instructed the men to torture her but keep her alive. I didn’t want her dead. I didn’t want to have blood on my hands. I just wanted to keep her away until Keith asked you to marry me… I’m so sorry.” June’s face was crestfallen as she confessed.
She was scared for her life. Jaxon had not said a single word and that frightened her, even more. She then thought about what she had done to Ruby, maybe he found out about that too.
“I’m so sorry for what I did to her and Ruby too.” Jaxon’s ears perked up at the mention of his wife.
“I have been so mean to her on several occasions and I had threatened to take you away from her so many times. I bullied her whenever we were all alone and I kept rubbing her status on her face. I trashed-talked her a lot… I feel so stupid for my childish acts and I’m sincerely sorry.”
“I apologize for locking her up in the restroom on Keith’s birthday… I just wanted to show Keith that I was the better match and she was a disappointment.”
“What did you just say?” Jaxon angrily shouted and her blood ran cold at the harsh tone.
