June shivered in fear and her heart beat accelerated as she looked up at Jaxon’s darkened eyes. He looked livid.
June felt like she was about to faint under his harsh eyes, he was glaring at her with so much anger that she felt light headed from the intensity of the look. Her heart was beating so wildly that it felt like she was running a marathon.
June closed her eyes and tightly clasped her hands together on her laps. She took a shaky breath and gathered the courage to repeat herself.
“I apologize for locking her up in the restroom on Keith’s birthday… I just wanted to show Keith that I was the better match and she was a disappointment.” June muttered and Jaxon’s nose flared up in anger. He felt like punching her right now.
He had accused Ruby of lying to him that day and they even had a fight all because of her. He angrily slammed his hands on her table and June’s eyes started to fill with unshed tears as she shivered in fright.
“So it was you! It was all you! How dare you! How could you do that to them?” Jaxon’s face was a storm of rage, his features twisted in a mask of fury as he glared down at June.
“I’m so sorry. I’m sorry.” June apologized repeatedly like a broken radio. June did not want to get on Jaxon’s bad side. She knew how powerful he was and she didn’t want to mess with him.
“Please, please forgive me,” she begged, her voice a broken whisper of desperation and regret.
“I know what I did was wrong, but I never meant to hurt any one of them so deeply. I was angry, and I made a mistake, but I swear, I never meant for it to get so far.” June said remorse clear in her voice.
“I was so childish and made stupid decisions and choices that ended up hurting her and I’m so sorry. I don’t know what came over me. I acted like a brat, I was so immature and irrational and I sincerely apologize for that… I promise to never repeat these mistakes again if you forgive me, please.” Jaxon was quiet as she kept apologizing. He was filled with anger towards her.
She mistreated the woman he was supposed to marry and even went as far as bullying his wife. He angrily glared at her as he thought of the most suitable way to punish her.
June was desperate. She didn’t want to offend Jaxon. Her company depended on him for survival. She was able to secure her place and get her company to the position it was in today all because of Jaxon, what would she do if he decided to withdraw his support?
She felt like her world was crashing before her very eyes and it was all due to her foolishness. June felt like beating herself up as she thought about the consequences of going against Jaxon.
She ran her hand through her hair and tugged at it in fear.
If Jaxon withdrew his shares from her company she would lose all the contracts that she had managed to get with his support. She would lose her major shareholder and she could already see all the other shareholders backing out once Jaxon leaves too. All her investors would leave and she’ll be left alone swimming in debts.
She screamed internally as she pictured herself going bankrupt and having to sell all that she owned to pay off debts. June realized that she had made a terrible mistake and she had to make up for it fast.
“I’m so sorry, please forgive me Jaxon… I promise I’ll never cross your path again please, for the sake of friendship don’t let go of me. Don’t desert me.” June desperately begged.
“I’ll do anything you want but please forgive me and remain my friend. I can’t lose you.” June begged.
“I promise to leave your wife alone! I’ll stay away from her and avoid her like the plague. I’ll never bully her again and I’ll compensate Serena. I know I cannot make up for the suffering she had to endure because of me but I’ll take care of all her bills and compensate her. Please, just give me this one last chance.” June fell to her knees, her eyes pleading as she clasped her hands in front of her.
She looked sorry as she repeatedly begged Jaxon to forgive her. Jaxon didn’t say a word as he looked at her pitiful figure kneeling before him.
He could feel the sincerity oozing from her but he wanted to know how she’ll go to earn her peace back. She had tried to ruin lives and he couldn’t just let her. She needed to work and earn his forgiveness.
“Do you think it is so simple June? That you can display your stupidity when you are angry and the people you hurt are supposed to feel better just because you apologized? You tortured Serena for months and nearly killed her! You made Ruby look like a liar and a fool on Keith’s birthday! And let’s not even talk about all the harsh words that you said to her in my absence. Do you think your apology can make up for any of that?” Jaxon spat out and June closed her eyes in regret as tears started to fall from her eyes.
“I’m so sorry! I’ll do anything to make up for the wrongs that I have committed… I’m so sorry.” June whispered in a broken voice as she sobbed.
“Anything? Are you sure about that?” Jaxon smirked and June hurriedly nodded her head.
“Okay then. You will meet up with Serena and apologize to her properly, you will also compensate her handsomely and for my wife… I don’t want to ever see you near her. You are not allowed to be in the same vicinity with her and you will bury your so-called feelings for me. You are not allowed to feel anything towards me June. The day you decide to go against this agreement you’ll have yourself to blame for whatever happens.” Jaxon said in a deep voice.
“I agree. I’ll do just that. Thank you… thank you so much.” June cried in relief and Jaxon smirked as he walked out of the office. He knew she would never reject his proposal.
They both knew what he was capable of and she was too materialistic to let go of her comfortable lifestyle over pride.
