Jaxon had told Kim he knew she was the one behind the accident.
Kim had thought long and hard of how that could be and the only thing that came to mind was that Ruslan had told him something because he was the only other person present at the time of the fall. Could he have seen the oil?
Kim didn’t entirely believe Jaxon because if he knew she was responsible, why leave her in his house where she could potentially do more harm? It didn’t make sense.
So she decided to believe that he was calling her bluff and didn’t exactly know if she was the one responsible.
He had also told her to stay away from him which she was not going to do. He’d yelled at her too, but she did not let it deter her because she knew she hadn’t made him fall for her charms yet.
When she did, she would be sure to make him apologize. With a little material gift of course. A million dollars wouldn’t hurt anybody and it certainly wouldn’t hurt his bank account.
She now knew, thanks to the fiasco that morning, that being nice wouldn’t make her get her way. He would simply ignore her or yell at her if she were to go down that route again.
So this time around, she was going to appeal to the visual side of him. Wasn’t it said that all men were visual creatures? Well, she was going to play into just that and be the sexiest bombshell he’d ever seen.
No man in his right mind would be able to resist her, Jaxon included.
All through the day, she pampered herself and spent time to make sure her body was ready and fit for a commercial. She’d waxed, plucked, and scrubbed every inch of her body until it was smooth.
The evening had rolled around, and she had put on one of the most scandalous nights she owned.
The white silk material fell against her body seductively and stopped mid-thigh. It had an open back and neck which showed a full view of her ample chest.
She had let her hair fall down on her shoulders which gave her the guise of an innocent look and made her look feminine.
She twirled in front of the mirror several times and admired herself. What man could resist this, she thought.
Out of the blue, her mind suddenly flashed to Damon, and that put an immediate damper on her mood. She pushed him to the back of her mind as she watched a scowl form on her face through the mirror.
She didn’t want to think about how he had humiliated and rejected her simply because he “wasn’t looking for a relationship”.
But she guessed it was a good thing he dumped her because now, she wouldn’t be here and wouldn’t be this close to having Jaxon for herself and kicking Ruby out of the picture.
Who would go for the second prize when the first prize was there to be taken? Damon had and would have been a consolation prize if she had gone with him instead.
It was already past the time Jaxon would have gotten back from work and she wondered where he was.
Ruby was asleep and she knew this would be the perfect time to execute her plan. She’d been ready for quite a while now and was simply lounging in her room.
The house was quiet, and it was easy to pick up sounds, and that was exactly what happened because Kim heard the sound of a door opening, and she dashed out of her room.
She rushed through the hallway and then proceeded down the stairs when she saw Jaxon enter her line of vision.
“How was your day at work?” She asked as she continued down the stairs. She watched as he raised his head to look at her and his eyes remained on her.
Her heart swelled with pride and she lifted her chest slightly. She willed him mentally to look at her and she was glad when his eyes traveled their slow descent from her head to her feet.
“What are you wearing?” Jaxon asked in a slow, quiet voice. His nostrils flared and he looked away from her. Kim couldn’t tell if it was anger or lust she heard in his voice, though she hoped for the latter.
“What do you mean what am I wearing, it’s just nightwear.” She told him after she decided to play dumb. His eyes flashed with something she couldn’t catch before it was replaced with a neutral expression. It was disgust.
She’d come up to him and put her hands on his jacket when Jaxon swatted her away.
“What the hell are you doing? Didn’t I tell you to stay away from me?” He fired at her in annoyance. Instinct had her stepping back quickly and she raised her hands.
“I just wanted to help you take off your coat, I’m sure you’ve had a long day.” She assumed then tried to approach him again.
“You better back off or I won’t be held responsible for what I do to you.” He warned.
“I still find it hard to believe that you’re related to my gem in any way. She’s a saint and you’re a whore who’s shamelessly throwing herself at her sister’s husband. Tell me, do you have no respect for yourself?” Jaxon shook his head and carried on.
“Let me tell you now, I don’t do cheap women like you. I like women who have an ounce of regard for their image and who will not give themselves up to the highest bidder. I wonder how Ruby would feel when she finds out her sister is prostituting herself.”
“It’s too bad your parents are dead because they need to answer where they got you from because there’s no way you’re related to my Gem. You aren’t even as beautiful as her. I guess it’s only fair, one gets beauty, the other gets what was left over…” Jaxon trailed off and looked her up and down.
“Which is not a lot. Too bad you’re the one that got the shorter end of the stick.” He sneered at her.
“If you ever touch me again, I will forget whatever relation you have with my Gem, and I won’t hesitate to kill you,” Jaxon told her. With that, he pushed past a tongue-tied Kim and headed up the stairs.
Jaxon found Ruby asleep in their room and he sighed. He was caught between telling Ruby her sister was a raging whore or leaving her in the dark.
He knew Ruby would find it hard to believe because she was blinded by the love she had for her sister.
He let Ruby be and decided that if anyone was to expose Kim for her dirty behavior, it should be herself. Then Ruby would have no other choice but to believe.
