Jaxon finished getting dressed in his three-piece suit and after spraying the perfume that Ruby got for him he walked out of the closet with a small smile on his face.
He felt like stepping on his own toes for being so sappy. He didn’t know when he became so soft because of his cute wife. He softly walked up to the bed in order not to make any sounds that would wake Ruby up from sleep.
He smiled as he stared at her sleeping face. She looked so peaceful with her hair all over the place and her cheeks all puffed up.
Jaxon placed a sweet kiss on her forehead and made his way out of the room softly closing the door behind him.
He walked down the stairs and made his way to the kitchen.
Jaxon saw Kimberly setting the table and he felt a rush of annoyance.
“What are you doing?” Jaxon asked.
Kimberly was startled by the loud voice and turned around to find the source. She smiled shyly when she saw Jaxon standing behind her with a blank face.
“Good morning Jaxon. I was going to call you down for breakfast once I finished setting the table.” Jaxon was not amused as he stared at her. He didn’t know why he felt irritated by merely looking at her.
“Why don’t you have a seat while I finish setting up the table and get you something to eat?” Kim gave him a sickly sweet smile as she tried to collect his briefcase.
Jaxon moved to the side and angrily pulled out a chair. Kim pouted and stood beside Jaxon.
“I know my sister can’t cook because she is scared of the fire but you don’t have to worry, as long as I’m here I’ll make sure you are well-fed with healthy homemade meals,” Kim smirked as she softly touched Jaxon’s shoulders.
“Your shoulders are so broad and strong,” Kim said sweetly as she massaged it. Jaxon angrily batted her hands off and she gasped as she held her hands close to her chest.
Jaxon felt annoyed by her antics. She was like a stubborn housefly that refused to die. And he hated houseflies. And who told her Ruby couldn’t cook? As long as she had someone around her while she cooked, she was good to go and made the best meals.
She wasn’t even missing a moment to bad mouth her sister. Jaxon frowned at the thought of that.
“You must be in a bad mood due to hunger. Ruby must have starved you the night before due to her lack of skills.” Kim ignored her hurting palm and gently placed her hand on Jaxon’s hand that was placed on the table.
He used his other hand to pinch the bridge of his nose in irritation. Jaxon felt like tossing her into the trash can and throwing it very far away.
He hated being touched without his permission and hearing trash about his wife. He glared at her and pulled his hand away.
He wondered what type of lady she was. Did she not have any shame? Who touches their sister’s husband so carelessly? He didn’t know what was giving her the audacity to think she could even appear before him.
“Whatever trash you have to say, save it. I’m neither interested in your food nor your annoying words. Stay out of my sight.” Jaxon said coldly and Kimberly involuntarily shivered in fear.
She has always heard about how scary Jaxon could be but she has never experienced it till now. Since she came to the house he has been ignoring her presence and she hated it.
She wanted him to look at her, to notice her presence, and eventually leave her sister for her but he didn’t even spare her a glance.
“I was just trying to be nice to you, why are you being so mean?” She angrily started throwing a fit and Jaxon acted as though he was not in the room. He brought out his phone and started replying to messages.
“Do you know the time I had to wake up to start preparing breakfast for you?” Jaxon felt his anger rising. He hated her high-pitched voice and he wondered where she got the energy to be so loud in the morning.
He felt like screaming and asking her if she had mistakenly swallowed a microphone. Jaxon sighed.
“Look at my beautiful hands! It feels so painful and it’s already looking red and sore because of how hard you hit them just because I tou….”
“What’s going on here?” Ruby asked with confusion clear on her face as she looked at Kimberly.
Kimberly glared at her with annoyance clear in her eyes. She watched as Jaxon smiled softly and turned to face Ruby.
She felt betrayed as she saw how his eyes lighted up like a kid on Christmas. He looked like a huge gift was standing before him.
“Good morning Jaxon,” Ruby said sweetly and connected their lips. Jaxon smiled into the kiss as they leisurely kissed with no tongue involved. Kim watched with clenched fists as they kissed as if they were the only ones present in the room.
She glared at Ruby with jealousy and hatred bubbling writhing her. Jaxon should be smiling at her, he should be looking at her with those eyes and kissing her so tenderly.
Kim was fuming by the time they broke up from the kiss.
“Good morning Gem. How did you sleep?” Jaxon asked sweetly.
“How could I not sleep well when you held me so tightly all night long?” Ruby teased.
“Would you like some tea before you leave?” Ruby asked and Jaxon nodded eagerly.
“I’ll be back shortly.” Ruby pecked him on the lips and went into the kitchen. She hurriedly brought out the kettle and poured some water into it.
She brought it to the electric stove that Jaxon specially bought for her and placed it to boil. Ruby rummaged the cupboard for Jaxon’s favorite tea bag and mug.
A few minutes later Ruby came out with a cup of steaming hot chamomile tea and gently placed it before Jaxon.
“Thank you, Gem.” Jaxon whispered and softly sipped his tea. Kim was boiling in anger as she watched the whole interaction.
Ruby watched him with a sweet smile on her face as he finished his tea and stood up. Her face saddened since she knew he had to leave now.
“I’ll be back soon Gem. Take care of yourself.” Jaxon placed a lingering kiss on her forehead and walked out of the room without sparing Kim a single look.
