FEW MINUTES EARLIER
Ruby and Jaxon made their way out of the office with huge smiles on their faces. They walked into the elevator and Jaxon smirked as the door closed.
Ruby gasped as he pulled her into his arms, he grabbed her ass and placed a sweet kiss on her lips. Ruby’s face heated up as she softly kissed back.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and moaned softly as he massaged her ass. “Jaxon, stop it, the door can open any moment now,” Ruby said in between kisses.
“It doesn’t matter Gem, everyone is busy at their workstations anyways,” Jaxon whispered and deepened the kiss. Ruby moaned into the kiss.
She felt out of breath and tapped Jaxon on the chest. Her chest was heaving up and down as they separated and Jaxon smiled as he looked at her flushed face.
“No more kissing,” Ruby whispered.
Jaxon groaned as he placed a final kiss on her lips and pulled away. Ruby smiled up at him as she quickly tried to adjust her gown.
The elevator made a ding sound and opened. They both walked out.
Ruby squinted her eyes at the lady who was leaving, she found the figure familiar, but there was no way Kimberly would come to Jaxon’s company, right?
“If it isn’t my favorite couple.” Damon grinned as he stood before them. Ruby smiled politely at him, removing her attention from the lady.
“Hello to you too Damon.” Damon smiled as he stretched his hands and shook Ruby while looking directly into Jaxon’s eyes.
Jaxon glared at him and separated their linked hands.
“Hello, Damon,” Jaxon said with a deep scowl.
“How are you doing today? You look even more stunning today.” Damon complimented Ruby.
“Thank you. You don’t look bad yourself.” Ruby softly replied.
“Finally someone who appreciates my looks and amazing sense of fashion.” Damon glared at Jaxon as he said this.
Jaxon grabbed Ruby’s wish and pulled her to his side. “She’s just being demure. You look like shit.” Jaxon smirked.
“How do you deal with this annoying man? Are you sure you made the right decision by choosing him over all the men we have in this city?” Jaxon rolled his eyes while Ruby laughed at their exchange.
She found it amazing how Damon always had a way of starting an argument with Jaxon and how Jaxon always fell for it.
“He is the sweetest man in town.” Ruby defended her husband. Jaxon grinned and winked at Damon.
“You heard that. Now go back to work and allow us to go home.” Jaxon tightened his arm around Ruby’s waist and smirked at a displeased Damon.
“Come on! Why don’t we have coffee before you leave?” Damon groaned.
“No. We have a lot to catch up on and I’m sorry you can’t relate because you don’t have a partner.” Jaxon waved him off and started walking out.
Ruby waved at Damon as they walked out of the company. She gently pinched Jaxon’s arm and he looked down at her with amusement clear in his eyes.
“You could have politely said goodbye.” Jaxon smiled as he looked down at her.
“That was me being polite Gem. I’m sure he was shocked by my kind words.” Jaxon smirked as he opened the door to the car for her.
She shook her head as she entered the car. Jaxon smiled as he closed her door and went to the driver’s seat, he got in and leaned towards her.
Ruby shifted back and her heart sped up as she looked into Jaxon’s eyes.
He leaned forward and she shyly closed her eyes.
Jaxon smirked as he softly adjusted her seat belt and sat back in his seat.
Ruby opened her eyes when she couldn’t feel his presence anymore and her cheeks heated up as she finally noticed the seat belt.
She shyly used both her hands to cover her face and Jaxon laughed at her cute antics and started up the car.
They drove out of the company and Kim who had watched the whole interaction felt anger and jealousy boiling within her. Why did Ruby get the rich billionaire and not her? She was about to board a taxi when she noticed Ruby, she literally hid, so her sister wouldn’t see her.
She felt jealous that Ruby had Jaxon all to herself. She could see how happy she looked and her blood boiled at that thought.
Did she not deserve to be happy as well? Why was her own case different? She also wanted to be loved and cherished. She wished she also had someone who would look at her with as much tenderness and adoration as Jaxon had in his eyes while looking at Ruby.
She could see how he held her so tenderly as though she was a fragile glass and Kim felt her insides coil with jealousy.
Why did Ruby have to have the life she always wanted? Why did she get the man of her dreams and not her? Was she not beautiful? Did she lack anything?
Kim has always seen herself as a beautiful, educated, and modern woman. She always dresses to impress and keeps up with the trends so why was she always left alone?
Her eyes burned as she tightly clenched her hands. She hated how she was feeling at that very moment. She hated the fact that she wanted what Ruby had and she hated the fact that she was jealous of her own sister.
She made up her mind to apologize to Damon and forget her pride in the meantime. She brought out her phone from her bag and entered her chat with Damon.
She was about to start typing when she noticed that his profile picture was no longer visible and a notification was displayed that he had blocked her.
Kim shook in anger, her whole body was literally vibrating in annoyance as she clutched her phone.
How dare he block her? After everything that had occurred, he had the nerve to block her! He just cut her off from his life as if she meant nothing to him, like she was just an insignificant lady and they never shared anything.
Kim felt the burning in her eyes intensify and before long angry tears were slowly streaming down her face.
