Chapter 73
The taxi Kim took pulled up in front of the exquisite five-star hotel Damon had booked. She stared at the building in awe before looking at the surroundings.
The guards and other employees she had met so far were nice. And an air of superiority came over her as they addressed her as ma’am and asked her if she needed anything.
She pulled out her phone and dialed Damon’s number. This time around, he picked up on the second ring.
“I don’t see you,” she said, then glanced around to make sure she had gotten a proper look. Earlier, he had called and told her he would be waiting at the lobby and that she shouldn’t bother going straight up to the room he booked.
“I meant private lobby. I’ll come out now, just sit somewhere while you wait.” Damon told her then ended the call. She perched in the nearest seat while trying to control her nerves. She pulled her dress which had ridden up down her thighs and glanced around the room to see if Damon had come. He hadn’t.
Her foot tapped against the hardwood floor anxiously while she waited. She made a sound that sounded like a grunt while she kept herself occupied.
Patience wasn’t a virtue of hers so she fought hard to keep her facial expressions in check. She was sure that anyone who passed her would jump from the way she was staring so hard.
She checked her phone again and was about to give Damon another call when he appeared from a side door.
“I’m sorry for keeping you waiting.” Damon apologized. He placed a gentle hand on her shoulder and urged her to get up.
“Please say you forgive me.” He added when she wouldn’t say anything.
“It’s fine.” She stated. She brushed her hands down the front of her dress. She took her time with this, enjoying the way Damon’s eyes followed her hands.
“So where to? Or are we just gonna head over to the room… ” She drawled out and stared at him expectantly.
“I was thinking we could grab a bite to eat before heading up stairs.” He told her instead and she nodded. He took her to one of the bars and they ordered. While they waited, Damon turned to her and regarded her cooly.
“Did I tell you you look beautiful today?” He asked with a flirty smile playing on his lips.
“No.”
“Well you do. And I love the dress you’re wearing.” Damon told her.
“Why thank you.” She said calmly but deep down she was happy for going with this dress. Men hadn’t been able to take their eyes off her since she had stepped out and Damon was no different.
Their food arrived and they both dug in. Kim stopped occasionally and glanced at how he was eating and the way his Adam’s apple bobbled when he swallowed. They finished and Damon finally led her to the elevator.
They came out of the elevator and Damon took her to the door. He opened it and her eyes nearly busted out from their sockets. She was thinking he had gotten a regular room, but he had gone for the luxurious one.
The room was large and had furniture that matched. The facilities were so much that Kim had forgotten even the smallest of things he had mentioned and explained.
She walked to the king sized bed and sat on it. She moaned inwardly as she enjoyed the soft, cloud like texture of the beds.
“Enjoying yourself?” He asked her with a smile. He shrugged off his jacket and placed it on the back of a chair.
“Mhmm. This room is gorgeous.” She said and glanced around again. Damon was staring at her so intensely and she wasn’t a saint that couldn’t recognize what he wanted.
“You know, I thought about you a lot these past few days even though I didn’t call you,” she began. Her voice had dropped to a sultry drawl and she stared at him through hooded eyes.
“Oh, did you?” Damon said. He walked up to her and sat beside her on the bed. “Yes.”
“And what kind of thoughts did you have about me?” He asked with a smirk. She gave him a cheeky smile then leaned closer until she was just inches from his face.
“About how you would make me feel less lonely.” She whispered remembering the excuse she had told him last time.
The next second, Damon’s lips crashed down on hers. There was nothing gentle about the kiss. It was simply two people going after what they wanted.
Kim tugged at Damon’s shirt, undoing the buttons. She tossed it to a corner and went straight to his belt buckle.
Damon had succeeded in removing the clasp of her dress and forced it down her body. Kim touched Damon with urgency and took what she needed.
She wasn’t the shy virgin that Ruby probably was or were, since she was married now. She had never been a saint and knew her way around a male body.
She laid bare between the sheets and watched Damon slip on protection. That was the last thing she could grasp before Damon took her soaring to new heights.
Thirty minutes later, she had gone back to normal and was processing what happened.
“That was wonderful.” She told him.
“I agree.” Kim knew she wanted to see him again so she had to play her cards right.
“Hey, I was thinking we should continue seeing each other.” She went straight to the point.
“I like your thinking Kim, but fair warning, I’m not looking for a serious relationship so if you’re okay with no strings attached then we’re game.” He explained and her heart dropped. This was not how she had expected this conversation to go.
“Sure, I’m fine with it.” She answered. She couldn’t possibly say no when her plan was progressing nicely. There were a few hiccups but they were nothing she couldn’t deal with.
“Then great. I’ll save your number and we can meet up another time.”
“Okay.” She went quiet after that. She had to settle for this but she would find a way to get more commitment, she thought.
