They found human brain tissue on the oar of the boat they had rented for their trip.
Because the oar had been soaking in water, no one noticed it at first.
After DNA testing, it was confirmed to be Ashton’s.
Jade initially explained that she had tried to use the oar to save him but accidentally hit his head.
But could an accident really cause someone’s brain matter to spill out?
Even though Ashton’s brain tissue had been washed away by the sea, traces still remained on the oar.
Unless it was a deliberate, forceful strike, it’s impossible that hitting someone while trying to save them would cause their brain to be exposed.
At the same time, after the police busted a drug trafficking case, they uncovered a new lead.
One of the arrested individuals had Ashton’s phone number in their recent contacts list.
Under interrogation, the person revealed that he was the one who had spoken to Ashton that day.
It turned out that Ashton and this man were close friends, both financially strapped due to their long-term marijuana use.
After Ashton met Jade again, he suddenly remembered that following her parents’ accidental deaths, Jade had received a five-million-dollar payout from the company.
They began planning to get their hands on this money.
At first, Ashton appeared by Jade’s side, but he soon discovered that she already had a boyfriend.
No matter how hard he tried to drive a wedge between us, Jade was still set on marrying me.
With no other choice, Ashton pretended to be sick, successfully luring her away from the wedding.
That day, in the hotel restroom, they discussed how to get the money as quickly as possible.
Ashton’s plan was to kill Jade discreetly during their honeymoon and take all of her inheritance!
The police realized that Jade likely overheard their plan in advance, which is why she decided to kill Ashton first.
They brought Jade in for questioning and focused on the people who had entered the hotel restroom that day.
Sure enough, a cleaning lady remembered Jade clearly.
She said she had seen Jade collapsed on the floor, her face full of sorrow.
But half an hour later, when the cleaner went back in, she saw Jade grinning eerily at herself in the mirror.
It was likely at that moment that Jade began planning her revenge.
With the DNA evidence making it impossible for her to deny the charges, Jade finally confessed to everything.
Her original plan was to donate the money beforehand, rack up some debt at a casino, and leave Ashton in despair after their wedding.
But during the honeymoon, she overheard Ashton’s conversation, realizing that he and his friend were planning to kill her!
She immediately decided to change her plan and strike first.
That day, out in the middle of the sea, Jade intentionally called Ashton over, saying she wanted to take a picture together.
She didn’t allow him to wear a life jacket, saying it looked ugly.
Ashton put his arm around her, about to make his move, when Jade saw her chance to act.
She viciously jabbed her fingers into Ashton’s eyes, and while he clutched his face, she kicked him hard in the groin.
Then, she grabbed the nearby oar and struck him, sending him into the water.
Fueled by a strong will to survive, Ashton desperately tried to climb back onto the boat.
But Jade showed no mercy. She picked up the oar again and smashed it against his head.
She struck him multiple times until Ashton stopped struggling and finally let go of the boat.
With that, Jade had her revenge.
She was charged with intentional homicide, but she didn’t care at all.
“Anyway, he would never forgive me,” she said with a smile as she pleaded guilty and accepted her fate.
After Jade’s arrest, I received a scheduled email from her.
