“Felix!. Felix.” I called as I quickly rushed towards her. She was walking quickly while crying loudly.
I stopped moving and sighed heavily. It was a matter of time till all the vampires knew where we were.
I needed to set a portal trap right under her feet so she could teleport back home.
I knelt down and touched the ground, whispering a spell over and over again. When a spark lighted up, it quickly moved in a straight line hitting her feet. She was about to take another step when the Portal opened beneath her, pulling her in and closing.
“What have you done to her?” Ian asked when he approached me.
“I sent her home.” I answered, then grabbed his hand and rushed back into the palace. I could sense some vampires approaching us.
“I think they know that they have intruders in their territory.” I whispered when we went upstairs together.
“I don’t care about them, all I care about is Samantha.” He responded when we reached the door .
We walked in and found the twins standing next to Uncle.
“Where is she?” Uncle asked in concern.
“Home.” I answered then moved to the wall and touched there, creating a portal.
“You should all first leave .” I said then stepped away from it.
“What about you?. What will you remain doing here?” Ian asked seriously.
“I need to clean this place up.” I answered honestly.
“But….”
“Alpha Ian, let the man work. You told us how Samantha needs us all now more than ever, so let’s all go to her. Lee will join us soon.” Evan said, cutting him off.
“Okay.” Ian answered in a low tone then walked into the portal.
“See you there.” The twins said together and walked into the portal as well.
“Are you sure you can handle everything by yourself here?. Won’t you need my help?” Uncle asked softly.
“I am going to be fine, so please leave quickly. And tell Jeannie that I am right behind you.” I answered.
“Okay.” He agreed and walked in.
I sighed heavily and blinked back the tears that were threatening to fall.
Everything Felix went through was so horrible and hurtful. I never wanted anyone to experience such pain ever again. I pretended to be strong while Ian was reading, when in truth I wanted to break down and cry with Felix. She was like my own blood sister, so seeing her shed so much tears made my heart ache.
I walked to the center of the room and sat down with my legs crossed. I put my hands together and formed a triangular symbol with my fingers.
When I closed my eyes, I began chanting a powerful spell that evoked dark magic.
I could feel a cold breeze sweep by, then in just a few seconds, the whole room turned very cold.
My breath became labored and I felt my body slowly weaken. My energy was being drained and my head was beginning to ache.
The spell cleansed the room, but it was also dangerous because it sucked one’s energy and later, their life force.
Immediately the room temperature went back to normal, I opened my eyes and looked around. Everything was back to place and the dead bodies and torn pieces of flesh were no longer there.
I slowly stood up in relief and went to the portal, looking back one last time before going in.
When I stepped out of the portal, I heard Chase screaming on top of his voice in the living room.
I was so shocked because it was the first time I was hearing him raise his voice.
I quickly rushed there and found him pointing his finger at Jeannie who had her gaze fixed to the floor.
“If you told me everything in time, I could have helped out and I would have been there for her!. But no, you kept you mouth shut as if you were doing me a favor, when in truth you were just acting selfish and stupid.” He spat.
I quietly went in front of him, pushing Jeannie behind me who was sobbing silently.
“Jeannie did nothing wrong. I was the one who asked her to… Fuck.” I spat and took a step back when a hard punch landed on my cheek.
The burning and the pain I was feeling there was intense.
“Chase that’s enough.” Alpha Ian ordered.
He turned and looked at him coldly.
“I am not a part of your fucking pack, So don’t you dare order me around!.” He yelled furiously.
“Chase, show him some respect.” Uncle warned.
“And you. Do you think you have any right to talk to me?” He asked when he shifted and looked at him.
“Fine, we were wrong to keep you in the dark. But what is done, is done.” I said seriously.
“Her heart is broken, asshole!” He yelled then brushed his hands through his hair.
“You should have seen how badly she was crying and hurting. She couldn’t talk to me or even look at me. She just lay down on the floor crying loudly. She didn’t even want me to pull her in my arms. That’s why I had to put her to sleep.” He said, then wiped off a tear that rolled down his cheek.
“After that, I read her mind. I knew it was wrong yet I still went ahead because I was so worried and scared seeing her like that. That’s how I knew everything.” He said in a cracked voice then turned to walk out of the room.
“Chase, I’m so sorry.” I whispered sadly.
“Yeah right. Sorry won’t bring back her dead parents and I doubt that Samantha will find strength to pull out of all this.” He said then walked out of the room.
I turned and pulled Jeannie in my arms, hugging her tightly.
“I suggest you go back to your pack Alpha Ian. Felix won’t want to look at you for now. Heck, she won’t want to look at any of us until she calms down.” I said softly.
“Fine, I’ll take my leave. Wait, where is Neo and Blade?.” He asked loudly.
I almost forgot that those two went with us that side.
The last time I saw them was when we all walked into the palace.
“Ah, fuck it.” Ian said loudly then pulled out his cell phone from his pocket and quickly dialed a number, putting it on loudspeaker as it rang.
I looked at the Uncle seriously who shrugged.
“Ian.” Neo’s voice came through as we all sighed in relief.
“Where the fuck are you?” He asked in almost a scream.
“Driving back to our pack.” He answered.
“You are not making any sense. Where the fuck were you?” He asked loudly
“Well when you guys went to that wing, Blade and I decided to start a fire with the lighter I had.” He answered.
“What?” I asked in shock.
“Ian, we both know how the coven is. The elders aren’t all good and nice to let everything slide when they find out what really happened. That’s why we decided to set the whole palace on fire. By the time we were done, we mind linked the twins who told us everything and mentioned that you were all going back. When the fire grew, all the vampires began to panic and try to put it out, that’s when we took that chance to escape.” He said seriously.
“Never ever separate yourself from the group again, do you hear me?” Ian asked in a loud growl.
“Yes Alpha.” He answered sadly.
I didn’t know if they were crazy or brave. How could they take such a risk!.
“Was burning the palace necessary?” Uncle asked seriously.
“Considering how the elders made Golden Watch as they killed Felix’s father, yes it was necessary. Burning it down was a pretty good idea.” Ian answered seriously.
I kept quiet and hoped that the elders wouldn’t realize that we were behind it, because it would bring unwanted war.
“Don’t worry Lee, I trust my brothers. I’m sure they left no clues behind. So they will never know.” Ian said.
I swallowed hard then nodded.
I guess what was left to do was open a portal one last time that would send him back to his pack.
