Aurora’s p. o. v
I stood with a smile across my face watching Lee and Chase work together.
I had never seen such beautiful magic in all my life.
They stood further apart from each other on opposite sides facing one another with their hands extended forward. I could see the force of pure energy being released from both of them. Lee’s was slightly orange while Chase was whitish closely compared to smoke.
The water circle Chase had first created was now large, close to my height and it was mixed with fire. Between the circle stood a colourless door which we all could see because of the water and fire surrounding it.
“On three.” Lee whispered to Chase in a labored breath. His hair was ruffled and his chest was continuously falling and rising.
“Okay.” Chase answered huskily, his forehead was covered in sweat and his facial expression was pained.
It was taking everything in them to build this barrier. They really were good people.
“One.” Lee whispered then took a step back.
“Two.” He continued as Chase took a step back as well.
“Three.” He screamed on top of his voice as they both clenched their hands into fists
“Is it done?” Chase asked in a cracked voice.
“Yes. See how the door is still standing.” Lee answered, then groaned low in pain and fell to his knees.
I was about to move when Chase stumbled. Seeing how close he was to me, I quickly rushed to his side grabbing his hand and pulling him forward to rest against me.
“I’m sorry.” He whispered then closed his eyes as wings appeared on his back.
He really was weak and couldn’t keep his true form hidden.
I was about to move with him when Felix approached us with a cold glare on her face.
“Let go of him.” She ordered seriously once she was standing in front of us.
“I was just trying to….”
“Let go.” She hissed furiously showing her fangs.
I wanted to tell her how her behavior was getting annoying, when Chase moved weakly and fell in her arms.
“I got you.” Felix said in an assuring voice once her arms were wrapped around him.
I sighed in defeat and took a few steps back.
Despite being that weak he still wanted to be with the woman he loved. Their love was special and kind of admirable.
“Sorry.” I whispered softly then turned and went to Lee helping him stand.
“I’m okay.” He said in a low tone.
“No, you are not, you are very weak.” I answered then began walking with him to the cottages slowly.
“I just need some sleep to recover, my life force and energy is stronger than you think.” He whispered.
“I know, but you still need rest.” I answered.
When Ian saw us approaching, he quickly rushed to where I was and immediately moved Lee’s hand around his shoulders.
“Aurora, I’ll take it from here.” He said seriously.
“Okay.” I answered then stepped aside after seeing that Lee’s weight was fully on him.
“Stay here, I’ll be back soon.” He ordered then walked ahead with him.
I stood with my hands pressed on my hips watching them.
“If it takes such energy and strength to create a barrier that keeps us all hidden from plain sight, then how much more will it require to create a barrier that will keep the Alpha king trapped in and his warriors trapped out!. Wouldn’t it cost them their lives?. I am truly worried about them.” I said honestly.
“I am too.” Amelia whispered silently.
“They will be fine.” A male voice answered from behind.
I quickly turned and faced the elderly man who stood a few meters away from me.
“Uncle!” Amelia exclaimed. She was so happy that I found myself smiling.
I walked to where he was and stood in front of him.
“I’m glad that you are here.” I said happily.
He moved his hand and ruffled my hair playfully.
“You were gone for some time and now you are all serious with me?” He asked with laughter.
I stood there feeling dumbfounded. Couldn’t he see that I wasn’t Amelia?.
“Uncle, I think you are mistaking me for Amelia.” I answered seriously.
He dropped his hand and looked at me seriously.
“No I’m not. You being an Alpha queen changes nothing. If your human side was that good with everyone then you must have allowed her to be happy and wanted what was best for her. Because of that, I am sure you too are a kind soul. So to me you aren’t an Alpha queen but family just as Amelia is.” He said calmly.
I found myself hugging him happily in relief. Everyone I had met for the first time showed fear because of what I was. He was the first one who didn’t give a damn.
“There there.” He said softly while patting my back gently.
When I inhaled Ian’s scent I quickly pulled back and cleared my throat.
“My mate is the jealous type.” I whispered to him.
Ian finding me in his arms wouldn’t end all too well.
“All mates are.” He answered with a wide smile.
“Aurora.” Ian called from behind us.
I turned and faced him cheerfully.
I felt cheerful and safe in this territory for some reason.
“Yes honey.” I answered.
He stopped moving with an astonished expression on his face.
“Aurora. I think it’s best If I leave.” Uncle said.
“Okay.” I answered without looking at him.
He walked to Ian and gave him a slight bow then walked past him.
“Ian.” I called in concern when a few minutes went by without him moving.
He cleared his throat and moved closer.
“I hate how he has your scent on him, did you embrace him by chance?” He asked seriously.
“Yes. I’m sorry.” I answered honestly.
I didn’t want to lie to my mate no matter what.
“Oh well I guess it’s that upsetting because I trust you.” He said with a smile.
I smiled back then tiptoed and kissed his cheek.
“Thank you.” I said silently through our mind link.
“Don’t mention it babe because right now I want to know what you called me a few minutes ago.” He said sexily then wrapped his arms around my waist.
I swallowed hard and shook my head.
“What did you call me?” He asked in what sounded like a low groan.
I didn’t want to tease him, but I just couldn’t help myself.
“Daddy.” I answered playfully, remembering how Amelia had called him just that a few times when they were mating.
His expression instantly turned seriously and in his eyes I could see lust.
“You don’t know the cost of arousing me do you?” He asked huskily.
I did, but seeing him react in such a way, it was all worth it.
“I don’t.” I answered seductively.
He moved his hand to my ass and gave it a hard squeeze making me moan low.
“Don’t provoke me much babe, I need you ready for war not tired.” He whispered then leaned in and kissed my lips as I responded and kissed him back.
“I’ll take good care of you once we are done with that bastard.” He said in a low tone then pulled back and turned to walk away.
“What a waste, I could have made you feel so good, better than Amelia.” I murmured under my breath.
He chuckled softly then waved.
“And you will, soon.” He answered and walked away.
