Ian’s p. o. v
“Was that necessary?. The way you treated my woman coldly?” I asked Felix seriously.
She glared at me then shrugged.
“You are in love so you can’t see how much of a threat she is.” She answered, pissing me off.
“What the fuck Samantha, has she ever done something that put your life in danger?” I yelled on top of my voice.
She widened her eyes in shock.
I rarely yelled at her, I only did it whenever I was very pissed.
“Are you yelling at me because of an Alpha queen?” She asked loudly as I felt Axel pull through.
She quickly cleared her throat then looked away.
“Axel.” She greeted me in a low voice.
“Show some respect to our mate and woman as we do to your wizard friend and fairy.” He spat then pulled back.
She looked back at us but this time with a soft expression.
“I’m sorry Ian, I guess I went a little too far with my horrible words.” She whispered softly.
“It’s fine, I understand.” I answered honestly.
“She freaks me out even if she has done nothing to me.” She said as I chuckled softly.
“I really do understand Samantha, that’s why I want you to try and get along with her as you do with Amelia, after all they aren’t that different.” I answered then quickly turned when I picked up a few movements from outside the barrier.
“Are they here already?” I asked with a loud beating heart.
If the enemies were the ones outside the barrier then we were done for because no one was prepared.
“No.” She answered and patted my shoulder lightly.
The first one to walk in through the barrier was Jeannie in her wolf form, then Lee shortly followed behind.
“Well, look at what we have here.” I said happily and approached them.
Jeannie turned into her human form and Lee wasted no time in covering her with his jacket.
“Alpha.” She greeted me calmly once I was in front of them.
“I’m glad that you came to fight with us, it really means a lot.” I said honestly.
She took a step forward then went down on one knee.
“My pack is my pride alpha, I might have been away all this time but that doesn’t mean I won’t serve when needed.” She answered with a bared neck.
I smiled widely then extended my hand to her. No matter how I looked at her, she was a female warrior and it was unheard of. In most of the packs around the world, if not all, the males were the ones that took the role of a warrior, it came as a surprise seeing that she was at such a rank.
“You will do well to serve your pack in your given rank.” I said seriously.
She looked stunned.
“Alpha, are you letting me serve you as a warrior?” She asked in a cracked voice.
“Of course. I know how there is no greater honor than resuming one’s true rank and position.” I answered as tears rolled on her cheeks.
The warlock quickly went to his knees and wrapped his arm around her sadly.
“Sweetheart, you don’t have to cry like that, have you forgotten that the Alpha still has his hand extended to you?.” He whispered.
She quickly moved her hand and put it in mine as I helped her stand up.
“I will gladly give my life to our pack. I vow to you my Alpha.” She said seriously.
“I know.” I answered then looked at the warlock.
“Chase is behind holding the barrier up. If there is anything you can do to help him, I would gladly appreciate it.” I said.
He nodded and grabbed Jeannie’s hand.
“Then excuse us.” He said in respect and walked away with her.
When an elderly man stepped through the barrier, I quickly took a fighting stance and growled at him in warning.
He looked very calm and relaxed for my liking. But that wasn’t the reason I was alert, he was a beta wolf who was way stronger than Neo. Despite my rank being above his, a fight with him would wound me.
But killing him wouldn’t be hard.
“Alpha Ian, I’m so sorry for coming here late. I am part of Samantha’s house.” He said as I glanced behind to look at Felix in disbelief.
“He is telling the truth.” She answered loudly.
“What the fuck!” Was all that went through my mind.
Since when was she living with a Beta in her house!. Not to mention everyone from her house looked extremely powerful, why the fuck was she hiding all of them from me!. To think she was my fucking friend!, The bitch was dangerous.
“Are there any more surprises or people I don’t know of?” I asked when I looked back at the Beta.
“No, uncle is the last member of our family.” She answered loudly.
“Uncle?” I whispered under my breath.
What the hell!. She hated my kind and called us dogs, yet she had a family full of them!.
Anyway that wasn’t important, I still wanted to confirm if the Beta was willing to serve me for just a few days until the war was over. Seeing how he was a part of Felix House, my guess was that he had no Alpha to serve. I still had a Beta in my pack but that didn’t mean I couldn’t take in another for just a few days.
“Beta, are you willing to accept me as your Alpha and work under my pack besides my warriors till the war is over?” I asked seriously, making sure my words held dominance.
He bared his neck in respect and answered.
“I will gladly follow all your commands Alpha.”
I smiled happily then looked at Felix who had walked to where I was with a wide smile.
“We will take them down Ian, we got this.” She said softly as I felt my body relax.
For the first time I felt at ease to be in the same territory with beings which were unlike my own, and very grateful to have met Samantha.
“Thank you.” I whispered from the bottom of my heart.
She nodded then bumped my shoulder playfully.
It was a simple gesture which gave me the assurance I needed. They had my back and I had theirs.
