Uncle’s p. o. v
I felt nervous as I knocked on the door to the cottage where the Alpha was resting. It was late at night and everyone seemed to be inside. The only ones who were left outside were a few warriors who were guarding the place.
I composed myself and lowered my gaze to the ground when I heard his light footsteps approaching.
“Beta.” He called immediately and he opened the door.
“Alpha, I’m so sorry to have disturbed your sleep at this hour.” I said in respect then looked up to meet his eyes.
He stood shirtless with his arms folded.
“That’s alright. I hope there is no problem.” He answered calmly.
“Can you step outside for a few minutes, you and Aurora?” I asked.
He frowned for a second then nodded.
“Sure, let me dress up.” He answered, then turned and went back in.
I moved and walked to the second cottage knocking.
“Come on, we are busy!” Felix exclaimed angrily.
“Felix it’s me, I want to talk to you and Chase right now.” I said seriously then went to the next cottage and knocked.
The door was instantly opened on its own. As usual, Lee had no time opening the door by himself, unless it was for Jeannie, he usually let his magic work.
“Lee, come outside together with Jeannie, there is something I want to say to the both of you.” I said then turned and walked to where the fire was.
I had put a few mats around it and a few chairs set a bit further from the mats.
I sat down lazily and waited for them to join on.
The Alpha was the first one to sit opposite me across the fire with Aurora next to him. His hand was linked to hers and he would glance at her a few times while waiting for me to speak.
“I’m waiting for the others.” I said softly.
“Okay.” He answered calmly.
After a few seconds, Felix joined me with Chase and sat down on the mat next to me on my right. She had an angry expression on her face and looked agitated.
“Were you feeding from someone who had his energy drained?” I asked seriously.
She rolled her eyes then looked at Chase.
“He made me.” She answered as I raised a brow.
“I’m serious, he wanted me to feed so bad that he wasn’t taking no for an answer.” She said when she noticed my gaze on her.
“She is right, I made her.” He answered in a low tone. He really was a quiet young man.
“You overworked yourself this afternoon, you didn’t have to do that.” I pointed out.
“Uncle, a water fairy’s life force is unlike any other fairy. All they need is to draw energy from water to restore their strength.” Lee answered behind me.
“I get it, but I still worry, you know.” I said honestly.
He moved and sat down with Jeannie on his lap on my left.
“We know Uncle that’s why I’m assuring you that he is fine.” Lee answered.
“Okay.” I whispered.
The Alpha cleared his throat, getting my attention.
“I believe you have something to say to all of us, right?” He asked.
“Yes.” I answered then continued.
“We all know that we will be at war sooner or later with an Alpha king. No one here has ever seen his full potential and strength I believe, but that shouldn’t mean shit to us, because victory will be achieved through standing together and having each other’s back. Ever since I was a kid my parents used to tell me stories about how alpha kings and queens were created, also how they ruled over all Werewolf ranks. But what I will never forget in their story was how they emphasized one part. They said, in order to kill an Alpha king or Queen one had to aim for the eyes and blind them. Yes, I know some of you may argue and say he will still stand his ground because of his good sense of smell and you might be right, because I too argued, but my parents later said, a mixture of wolfsbane and Otis power thrown direct to his nose may dull his sense of smell temporarily giving you the right moment to kill.” I said then kept quiet for a few minutes expecting them to say something. When no one did I looked around.
“What?. You think I’m saying crap right?” I asked seriously.
“No, on the contrary your plan might work.” The Alpha said loudly.
“It’s brilliant.” Lee whispered.
“I know right, my mind is blown away right now. Like I have lived longer than most beings yet I have never heard such a tale before!” Felix exclaimed.
“You are a vampire.” The Alpha mocked as I smiled widely.
“Aurora what do you think?” Chase asked.
She stood up and looked at each one of us in concern.
“I won’t lie Chase, I think the plan might work.” She answered as I sighed in relief.
“But at great cost. You know, an Alpha king is above all for a reason. It will be hard to take out his eyes, we will need someone who has unpredictable movement and a perfect aim.” She said seriously.
She was right, blinding the Alpha was going to be hard. Lee and Chase were going to be putting up a barrier by then and a few warriors were going to stand guard on them. Although the Alpha, Felix and Aurora would put up a great fight, they had no perfect aim. Any reckless aim and movement would reveal our plan and true intentions to him.
“I know three of my men who can do just that.” The Alpha said proudly.
“You do?” Jeannie asked in shock.
“Yes, in my pack, the twins are good at masking their scents very well, so it would be hard for him to predict their movements no matter what. Then there is Logan who can never miss, his aim is perfect. All we need to do is hold back the Alpha king and allow them to take the perfect hit.” The Alpha said proudly as I smirked.
“Then there is nothing to worry about, starting from tomorrow we shall all train on how to move and be in the right position, I’ll be in charge on the day of training.” I answered happily as they all looked at each other then nodded.
