What was with this awkwardness around us?.
The last two days that Axel had taken over were a blur to me, I couldn’t remember much of what had been said or what was done, all I knew was that he loved every second of it because I felt his emotions.
Waking up in control felt amazing, but why the hell was Aurora sitting next to me naked on the bed with a cold expression on her face?.
I slowly sat upright and moved to the edge of the bed. I had nothing to say to her at all. If I remember correctly, last time she took over around me, she threatened me and wanted me to call her by title not name.
We were not on good terms at all, and having her around wasn’t making me feel any better.
“Why the hell are you in control?” I asked coldly.
She looked at me then shrugged.
“Ask Amelia.” She answered and stood up from the bed then walked to the bathroom.
Her body was covered in bite marks and hickeys. But she seemed not to mind.
“Axel, why the fuck did you go hard on her?” I asked in concern.
“Because she is my mate as well. Moreover she wanted me to make love to her.” He answered calmly.
“Whatever.” I whispered then stood up and went into the bathroom without knocking.
She was standing in the shower with her back towards me scrubbing her body with a washcloth.
I took a deep breath, released it, went straight ahead and stood in front of her.
When she continued to wash herself, treating me like I was invisible, I grabbed the washcloth from her hand and cleared my throat.
“What exactly do you want from me Ian?” She asked coldly.
“I too wonder, what exactly would I want from my own damn mate?” I spat loudly.
“By that you mean Amelia right?” She asked then went out of the shower.
“That is not what I …”
“She’s refusing to take over no matter how much I try to convince her, so you have to bear with me for the time being.” She said then walked out of the room before I could finish my sentence.
Her voice was strong and I couldn’t detect any sort of sadness, that’s why I was surprised over the sad feeling washing all over me which was either mine or Axel’s.
“She is sad.” He whispered softly.
“What?. No way, did you not see how unbothered she looked?. Her reply was very cold as well.” I answered in disbelief.
“Aurora may be strong and very dominant but that doesn’t mean she is happy having either one of her mates treat her badly. You and I both know that she cares and loves us entirely that’s why she came back to stand by our side, if she wanted nothing to do with us she would have left a long time ago or taken over the pack and we would have no say.” He said seriously.
I dropped the wash cloth on the floor then brushed my hand through my wet hair.
“She makes it hard for me to be with her.” I whispered softly.
“And you are making it hard for her as well.” He responded.
“Fine then, I’ll try and take her as I usually take Amelia, but if she won’t let me through then I will gladly back away.” I said then turned off the shower and walked out.
I was at fault as well so I was going to try and work out things between us for our better future.
I glanced at her while I walked to the wardrobe to grab a towel. She sat in a white robe In front of her dressing mirror looking at herself in silence.
“What is she doing exactly?” I asked Axel silently then pulled out a dry towel wrapping it around my waist.
“She really is sad.” He answered, this time a little stronger.
“I get it.” I whispered while I grabbed a spare towel and went to her.
“Excuse me.” I whispered and began drying her hair as I stared at her through the mirror.
“Why are you doing this?. Is it because this body is Amelia’s as well?” She asked while gazing into my eyes angrily through the damn mirror.
I stopped and dropped the towel to the ground angrily. Why was she bringing up Amelia every second?.
I moved in front of her, kneeling down on one knee.
“You make it hard for me to talk to you, you know?” I asked.
She glared at me then lowered her gaze to her hands which were on her lap.
“I’m sorry.” I heard her whisper through our mind link.
I moved my hand to cheek and made her look up, her eyes were filled with tears.
“Aurora, you asked me why I was drying your hair and what I wanted from you back there in the bathroom. I’m sorry that my answers were somewhat harsh and I made you misunderstand. I was drying your hair because I was concerned over you catching a cold, not because you are a part of Amelia, but because you are my mate as well. As for what I want from you, I want you to love and accept me the very way you do Axel. I understand that I was cold with both you and Amelia, but I changed or I’m trying to because I love the both of you and want to stand by your side. That’s why I want to apologize now from the bottom of my heart for doing all those shitty things to the both of you. I also want to ask you to give me a chance and time to prove my love. I may not be perfect but I’ll do everything I can in my powers to make our love perfect.” I said honestly as tears rolled on her cheeks.
“Do you really mean it?” She asked in a cracked voice.
“Of course. And I promise you both as a mate and an alpha that I will keep my word.” I answered.
She moved and hugged me tightly as she sobbed.
“It’s not because she is bitter that she acted coldly towards you, it’s because she felt like you hated her and loved Amelia more. She really wants to love and be loved so much, sadly she has no idea where to begin, am happy you told her those words .” Axel said.
“I’m glad.” I whispered then embraced her back happily.
“Thank you.” She whispered through our mind link as her sobs grew louder.
She truly was as kind as Amelia was.
