“So will you manage to hold the barrier that can detain about fifteen people?” I asked Lee seriously.
He was sitting next to me on the couch and standing in front of us was Chase. We all needed to talk and discuss everything. We had to be prepared for the coming war.
“With the help of Chase, yes I can.” He answered calmly.
“I thought so as well that’s why I told Alpha Ian we would easily hold it up. The problem would be keeping it stable, we need three or four warriors who could stand their ground on protecting us, if one of us was to lose focus the barrier could fall and that would end badly for us if that alpha king comes with his army.” Chase said.
“I’m sure Ian will take care of that, he has a lot of warriors who are capable of standing their ground. My main worry is you guys.” I answered honestly while I gazed into Chase’s eyes.
I really felt uneasy having him fight beside me, if he was to die in front of my eyes It would break me, that I knew despite acting like I felt indifferent.
“Are you really worried about us or you mean him?” Lee asked.
I faced him and folded my arms.
“I don’t know what you mean by that, but all I know is that I worry about the both of you.” I answered simply.
“Well you don’t have to worry much about me because I have been in far worse situations and wars than you could ever think of.” He answered while he stood up.
“I will explain everything to uncle and Jeannie, they have a right to decide whether to join us or not because they are family.” He said then stood still waiting for my objection.
“I guess that’s the right thing to do.” I answered in a whisper as he smiled.
“Wow, for some unknown reason you are getting a little soft.” He said then walked out of the room before I could respond.
Chase moved and sat down next to me.
“Don’t mind him, you are not growing soft at all, you are just showing more concern and care for us all as you should , because we truly are one big happy family.” He said then took my hand in his.
I slightly turned and faced him coldly.
Lovers or not I was still uncomfortable with this lovey dovey shit, that included intimate touches from nowhere.
“Samantha, I have been thinking.” He said softly as I swallowed hard.
By the tone of his voice, I knew he was about to say something serious or complain.
“This war may either end badly or good for us. We have no seer in this house who can see the future and that doesn’t….”
“I know.” I answered, cutting him off.
“Are you afraid that I might end up losing my life?” I asked in a whisper.
“Yes, to be honest, the very thought terrifies me a lot. I know that you are a strong woman who’s capable of protecting herself and everyone around us, but this bastard coming is stronger. If my guess is right he will have to take out Amelia, you and Ian first and fast, because you are the ones who would give him hell.” He said as I smiled warmly at him.
He glared at me then tried to pull back his hand when I grabbed it tightly.
“I’m not laughing at you.” I said loudly as his expression softened.
“A few seconds ago I was thinking the same thing about you, so I do understand how you feel, actually a lot.” I whispered honestly.
He moved his free hand and pressed it on my cheek gently.
“I’m glad to hear this coming from you.” He whispered then leaned in to kiss me when my cell phone rang.
He froze then pulled back with a chuckle.
“Damn.” He whispered and stood up.
“I’ll be in your bedroom.” He said seriously as I let go of his hand.
“Okay.” I answered softly then pulled out my phone and answered it immediately he had walked out of the living room.
“Ian.”
“Samantha.” Came the response.
“Axel.” I called in the form of a greeting.
“Are you busy?” He asked.
“Well I was in the middle of something important but it’s okay.” I answered.
“My men have found a good area and they began their construction two days ago. According to my Beta Neo, they will be done with everything by next week. I remember very well that Chase asked Ian to inform you, that’s why I’m calling you right now.” He said.
“Thanks, I will tell everyone and start preparing for our departure.” I answered.
“Good.” He said then cleared his throat.
“Thank you.” He whispered.
I smiled then sighed loudly.
“If I didn’t know any better I would think you were supposed to be human, for an alpha wolf you really are unique and different.” I pointed out.
“Me, how?” He asked.
“You are gentle and too kind to people you care for, I guess. Most people and beings would expect that from Ian not you.” I answered as he laughed softly.
“I’m deadly and dangerous when provoked.” He proudly stated.
“That I know that’s why you are still the alpha in him.” I answered.
“Hit me up the day that you will start off.” He said.
“Sure. Also why are you in control, did Ian mess up with Amelia?” I asked in concern.
Knowing that asshole, it was possible.
“No, my mate wanted to know me better and for us to spend some time together, I figured why not so I took over. For the past two days I’ve been doing everything fun I can think of , while training her on defense skills.” He said happily as I smiled widely.
“When Ian takes over the next day, it will be his turn to get to know more about Aurora, that way we both are on equal terms.” He went on.
“Are those two on good terms?” I asked curiously.
They both looked like they had pride, how would they act in front of each other.
“Well, that I can’t say, but I do believe they will work out everything between them. If not, I will make them.” He answered as I chuckled softly.
“Okay, then. I will talk to you soon.” I answered, then disconnected the call and walked out of the room.
Axel was always true to his words that’s why whenever he said something I believed him.
I went into my room and found Chase sitting at the edge of the bed, when he looked at me he stood up.
“What?” I asked.
“Would you like to go out for a drink with me?” He asked, surprising me.
A few minutes ago he gave off the aura of wanting to continue making out, now he was asking me out. What was he thinking?
“Felix.” He called snapping me out of my thoughts.
“Sure, I would love that.” I answered.
Whatever, I was going to go with his flow. After all, what would go wrong?
