Shock! Disbelief! Stupefaction! Mya’s expression became incredibly complex, her eyes wide open as if trying to burst from their sockets.
In that instant, her mind was a whirlwind, echoing a barrage of questions: ‘Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing?’
The scene before her completely shattered her worldview. In her mundane life, this spectacle seemed far too exaggerated. Had she not witnessed Leon’s horrific death, she might have thought she was witnessing a movie set. She stared in astonishment at the kneeling elder, then shifted her gaze to Kayden, her expression akin to discovering a new continent.
Kayden looked toward the entrance, sneering as he said, “Carson, you even take the Scott family’s Ghostbusters here. It seems you’re truly desperate to bring me back!”
He deliberately emphasized the word “bring” by raising his voice.
Carson immediately understood Kayden’s implication, lowering his head and urgently explaining, “No, Mr. Kayden, we truly are here to invite you back to take charge. The Scott family has faced significant upheaval, and Mr. Jason sincerely requests your return.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the line of black-clad figures behind him knelt in unison, chanting in unison, “We respectfully invite Mr. Kayden to return to the Scott family!”
Their unified shout echoed like a roaring river, tumultuous and powerful, reminiscent of a mighty dragon crossing the sky, shrouded in cloud! The reverberation of their fierce aura filled Moon Viewing Restaurant.
Kayden’s expression remained unchanged, merely sneering dismissively. Finally, a hint of impatience flickered across his indifferent face. He calmly rose from his seat and sternly declared, “Enough! Go back and tell Jason Scott that his grandson, Kayden Scott, has been dead for ten years. The current Kayden has no ties to the Scott family. He should stop coveting the power and wealth I possess.”
The Scott family of the East, the top one of the four prominent families of Seclela, would never covet the power and wealth of others. Were it anyone else speaking, the words might have been met with derision, but coming from Kayden, no one dared to question.
His power was unparalleled, commanding respect from all, and his wealth could rival nations. No one wouldn’t covet that.
Carson appeared troubled, hesitating to speak, “But, Mr. Kayden, the family truly…”
“I don’t want to repeat myself!” Kayden interrupted Carson decisively, his tone firm and resolute.
As soon as he finished speaking, he tightly grasped Mya’s hand and strode toward the exit.
The black-masked figures blocking the door swiftly parted to create a wide path.
After Kayden had completely exited, Carson slowly lifted his head. Sweat now beaded on his forehead, and his back was soaked with perspiration.
He trembled, both his body and heart shaking.
After taking a deep breath, his complexion eased slightly.
Confronting Kayden’s aura, Carson felt an unprecedented fear.
Despite having weathered many storms, Kayden’s presence was the most formidable he had ever encountered.
He was a man who dealt with death regularly, unintentionally exuding an oppressive aura of lethality.
“Carson, what do we do next?” a masked figure stepped forward to inquire.
Carson trembled as he raised his hand, weakly saying, “Help me up. My legs are weak.”
Once Carson was assisted to his feet, he sighed deeply and continued, “Let’s report back to Mr. Jason. Mr. Kayden has no intention of forgiving the Scott family. His hatred for the family is beyond what we servants can soothe.”
With that, Carson couldn’t help but wipe the cold sweat from his forehead.
Meanwhile, Kayden and Mya had exited Moon Viewing Restaurant.
Since leaving, Mya was tightly held by Kayden, and even after they had distanced themselves from the restaurant, he still hadn’t released her hand. Mya followed him in silence.
Watching Kayden’s back, Mya found herself somewhat enchanted. Though he wasn’t particularly tall, his presence gave her immense security. Especially when he had gripped her arm as they left the restaurant, it felt like being in a relationship, filling her with satisfaction and joy. All the shock and fear vanished in that moment.
It was as if, as long as he held her, she could forget everything and let go of all burdens!
She had never felt such satisfaction before. It was truly uplifting!
She even began to wonder if she had fallen for this man she had only met twice.
It was indeed a bit crazy, but this stranger was simply incredible to Mya. Those who entered Moon Viewing Restaurant did not seem like good people, yet they all knelt before him.
The shocking scene, the sensation of being in a movie, the feeling of a beautiful girl meeting a handsome and dominant CEO in a novel-if she hadn’t experienced it firsthand, she wouldn’t have been able to articulate the joy swelling within her. It was like the sweetness of honey, overwhelming her with bliss.
At that moment, Mya even imagined names for their future children.
But who exactly was Mr. Scott? Was he truly like the rich young heirs portrayed in TV dramas?
His extravagant gestures and style hinted at an extraordinary background.
He must be a distinguished heir from a wealthy family! Her understanding was limited, and she could only speculate to this extent.
Suddenly, Kayden halted and lost in her thoughts, Mya accidentally bumped into his back. The impact hit her nose, causing her to let out a yelp.
Kayden turned around unperturbed, releasing her hand, and said coldly, “Alright, this is far enough!”
Mya rubbed her nose and asked, “What does this mean?”
“I think you don’t need me to take you home anymore,” Kayden stated directly.
Mya blinked, “But I haven’t treated you to a meal yet.”
“It’s fine. Another time,” he replied, turning away and heading home.
Watching Kayden’s retreating figure, Mya swallowed hard and called out, “Hey! Can we have a meal together again? I’m afraid that after today, I won’t be able to reach you again.”
Kayden remained silent, but Mya ran after him, blocking his path. She took out a pen from her bag, grasped Kayden’s hand, and quickly wrote down a number.
After finishing, she cheekily stuck out her tongue, saying, “WhatsApp is this number too! Remember to call me when you get home, and add me on WhatsApp! I’ll treat you to a meal next time.”
