Ulric’s car headed straight for the headquarters. Not long after Cedric’s call ended, his father Caesar called.
“Where are you?”
“Heading back to the company.”
“Come to the hospital first! Your mom is in the ICU again!”
Ulric frowned and slammed on the brakes. “Haven’t you had enough? There’s nothing wrong with my mom, is there?”
He had suspected this before.
Because when they were at the hospital, his father didn’t seem that anxious! It felt like he spent more time watching him.
Ulric had seen his father when his mother was truly at death’s door, so he couldn’t be fooled.
Caesar sighed on the other end. “This time it’s real. Come quickly! I can video call you right now.”

Since he said that, Ulric knew it was probably true.
But he still hesitated for a moment before softly responding and hanging up the phone.
When he drove to the hospital, sure enough, his father was standing at the door of the emergency room, pacing anxiously.
Seeing his son approach, Caesar hurriedly walked over to him. “Ulric, your mom’s condition is very critical this time. I watched her faint right in front of me!”
Caesar had witnessed countless major events in his life, but he could never stay calm when his wife was critically ill.
In the business world, they were a model couple that everyone talked about, so Ulric always believed he would find his other half and be with them for life.
“What caused it this time?”
“…” Caesar didn’t answer.
He couldn’t possibly say it was because he didn’t listen to her and tried to stop their son from seeing Rosalind!
“You should go back abroad. The medical technology is better there,” Ulric said heavily instead of pressing further. “She always gets emotionally unstable here.”
“It’s all because of you! If you were willing to be with Sirena, none of this would have happened! I even compromised and asked you to pretend to be with Sirena publicly while ignoring it privately, but you still refused!” Caesar never understood why his son was so afraid of Rosalind! He couldn’t even pretend.
There were plenty of beautiful girls around!
“So I’m asking you to go back abroad,” Ulric responded without arguing, following his father’s lead.
“Do you think if we leave, you’ll be able to be with Rosalind? Your mom has made up her mind. No one can stop her from doing what she wants! Even if I wanted to stay out of it, because of her health, I have to help her! Ulric, I don’t want to force you, but there’s no room for negotiation on this. Just be with Sirena. If your mom hears this news, she’ll be so happy that she’ll recover.”
“Dad.” Ulric suddenly interrupted him, looking into his eyes. “If I asked you to divorce Mom and remarry someone else, would you do it?”
Caesar was stunned. “This… How can our situation compare? We’ve been married for years and have children!”
“No difference.” He lowered his eyes. “You love Mom and spoil her. I love her too, very much. There’s no difference.”
He had thought there would be a way to resolve this issue, but he didn’t expect things to turn out this way.
Seeing his son’s dejected look, Caesar seemed to think of something and raised an eyebrow tentatively.
“Did Rosalind break up with you?”
