Chapter 210: Ulric Goes to Ask Malcolm

Perhaps due to her pregnancy, Rosalind didn’t know when she fell asleep…
When she opened her eyes again, it was almost noon!
She quickly took out her phone and saw a missed call from Tilda, but nothing else.
Rosalind knew that Malcolm must have told Tilda not to keep calling, assuring her that Rosalind would call back once she woke up, so as not to disturb her rest.
Given Tilda’s personality, she wouldn’t have thought of this herself.
Rosalind didn’t call her back immediately. Instead, she got out of bed and went to the bathroom to freshen up.
She splashed some cold water on her face to wake herself up a bit. After all, it wouldn’t be easy to fool Ulric. Who knew how many scenes she would need to act out before this drama ended?
Looking at her haggard face with dark circles under her eyes in the mirror, Rosalind suddenly had the urge to join her mother.
After all, in this world, she had no family left. She no longer needed to work herself to the bone to pay medical bills…
No one would ever again scold her harshly while secretly looking out for her.
In the end, she had become a child without a mother.
Rosalind stood in the bathroom for a while until she felt emotionally stable enough to come out.
In the living room, she expected Ulric to be waiting at home to question her, but surprisingly, he wasn’t there.
There was only the usual breakfast on the dining table and a note he had left.
“You’ve been working too hard. Take a few days off; I’ll talk to Cedric. Remember to eat breakfast. -Ulric”
Every word Ulric wrote seemed like an attempt to turn the page on yesterday’s events, as if they had never happened!
If only she could do the same.
Rosalind held the note for a long time before suddenly raising her hand to gently touch her belly…

Wulminster City University, Faculty Office.
“Mr. Burrows, someone is here to see you. They said their last name is Walters.”
Behind his desk, Malcolm, who had just taken a long leave and was packing up to leave the school, paused and frowned. “Walters?”
“Yes! You’ll know who it is once you go out and see.” His colleague smiled and then returned to their seat.
Malcolm thought for a moment and decided to go out.
He had considered that Ulric might come looking for him but later dismissed it as unlikely.
Who was Ulric, after all?
The president of the entire W Group. With his status and background, he could have any woman he wanted. It didn’t seem like he would lower himself for the sake of a relationship.
As Malcolm walked out of the teaching building, he saw Ulric’s black Maybach from a distance.
To be honest, he was quite surprised.
“Mr. Walters, you were looking for me.” Malcolm walked over, calculating that it would be best to say as little as possible to avoid giving anything away. He was just a teacher and couldn’t outsmart a businessman.
“Yes.” Ulric extinguished his cigarette and looked up at him. Despite his handsome face still being deep and refined, it was clear he hadn’t slept all night and looked weary and downcast. “I’m here because of Rosalind.”
“I figured.”
Just as Malcolm was about to say something else, he heard Ulric’s hoarse voice, rough with emotion, say, “I’m begging you, don’t take her away.”
“…”
Malcolm was utterly shocked by these words.
He had expected Ulric to use his status to pressure him or offer him money or threats-after all, that’s how it always went in TV dramas.
But instead… he came to beg?
For Rosalind’s sake, the dignified president of W Group was willing to lower himself this much? Even willing to plead with his rival?
