When she arrived at Cedric’s office, Rosalind knocked on the door.
Hearing a voice from inside saying “come in,” she pushed the door open and entered. “Cedric, I’m here.”
Cedric looked up from a pile of documents and glanced at her, then pointed to some materials on the desk. “Enter these into the computer, and I’ll send you the latest updates on the Fragrant Harbor project. You can handle the due diligence this afternoon.”
“Okay.” Rosalind walked over, picked up the materials, and quickly sent a file to Cedric using her phone. “I had already entered this data while I was on leave, but since I didn’t have access, it remained on my computer.”
“You’ve entered all these sections?!” Cedric was surprised and immediately opened the file to check. “You didn’t slack off at all during your break!”
It was worth noting that this work amounted to nearly half a month’s worth of tasks! Rosalind had only been away from W Group’s headquarters for a short period, yet she managed to complete so much work!
Rosalind smiled. “I knew I would eventually come back, so this work would still be mine. Since I had nothing else to do, I decided to get it done in advance.”
Cedric couldn’t help but give her a thumbs-up. “Rosalind, I can understand why Mr. Walters likes you.”
Her serious and responsible attitude towards her work, simply wanting to do her job well, was something many workers lacked! Cedric understood Rosalind’s mindset; she was worried that if she returned to the company, she might fall behind. So even when she wasn’t at the company, she continued to do her work in sync, ensuring that she wouldn’t delay progress once she resumed.
Rosalind gave an awkward smile. “I cherish this job a lot; it’s the only path for my development.”
“You’ll definitely achieve great things with such dedication,” Cedric nodded approvingly and handed her a set of account credentials.
These were for tracking the specific progress of the Fragrant Harbor project, which required real-time monitoring and confidentiality.
Rosalind hesitated for a moment regarding his directive.
“Given the current doubts about my credibility within the company… is it appropriate for me to handle such confidential information?”
Although Sirena had personally vouched for her, she made it sound like she was forced into it, so many people still doubted Rosalind’s innocence.
This included companies collaborating with W Group.
Rosalind knew that Fragrant Harbor must also be pressuring Ulric!
After all, if confidential information were leaked, the losses would be far more than just a few million; in the eyes of businessmen, profit is paramount.
“Mr. Walters believes you can do it, so you can,” Cedric raised an eyebrow. “This is his personal instruction; he insists you handle it! Do you understand what that means?”
Rosalind was taken aback, clearly not grasping it yet.
She thought Ulric could easily assign this to other core members, avoiding any trouble with Fragrant Harbor. She knew she wouldn’t be upset with him over such matters.
Cedric sighed and stood up, taking a deep breath.
“Mr. Walters is announcing his stance to the outside world!”
“Stance?”
“Yes! By entrusting you with such confidential files, it demonstrates W Group’s trust in you! It also indirectly proves your innocence to them and shows that W Group is firmly supporting you.”
Rosalind was stunned. “But… this will also attract a lot of criticism.”
Ulric had always had an impeccable reputation in the business world, maintaining a clean image without any negative evaluations. Doing this would invite many doubts.
“That’s why you must not let down Mr. Walters’ trust in you.”
