…
After the meal, since it was still early, Sachin took Rosiley out for a walk to aid the digestion.
Rosiley looked at the flashing street scenes outside the car window and then turned around to look at Sachin who was carefully driving. She asked doubtfully, “Where are we going? Aren’t we going for a walk?”
She thought they would stroll around the villa. Who knew he would drive her downtown?
“To see a friend.” Sachin spared a glance at her. “They said we haven’t met for a while, and they…”
He paused purposely and then turned around to look at her. A light smile registered on the corners of his lips. “They miss you.”
“Miss me?” Rosiley cocked one eyebrow in disbelief. “Why would they?”
She knew what he meant by friends. They had grown up with Sachin, but she had only met them once. The group could not be considered close to her. Why would they miss her?
Sachin shook his head. “I don’t know why either.”
It was true. On the phone, Corey had only said they wanted to meet her but had not told him why.
Rosiley bit her lips, immersed in thinking for a while, and then analyzed, “I think they wanted to see you, but they weren’t willing to say so, so they used me as an excuse.”
This would be a perfect explanation.
Surprisingly, Sachin agreed and nodded. “I expect you’re right. After all, I’m more likeable than my darling.”
Rosiley was speechless.
She really had not known that he could be so narcissistic.
In a high-class club downtown:
It was a little noisy in the expensive private room.
“Corey, will Sachin and Rosiley be coming?” asked Moorine Shen. He really wondered if Sachin would show up tonight since Sachin seldom came to their parties after marriage.
Corey had been talking with someone. Hearing that, he turned around and frowned, saying tentatively, “He said he would come, so he should be coming.”
“Sachin now has a sweet wife and has forgotten about his friends,” Chu Yuan teased, but he appeared envious.
He was also born into a rich family like Sachin. How he envied that Sachin had been able to make his own choice and marry the one he loved!
“By the way, Rosiley is now the Group’s chairman. Should we pay more attention to her in the future?” Ling Yao looked at the others.
Hearing that, Moorine Shen leaned back on the sofa and looked at Ling Yao leisurely. “How do you plan to do it?”
The others all turned to look at Ling Yao, wondering how he would pay more attention to the newly-selected Group chairman.
In the face of everyone’s doubt, Ling Yao threw his hands up in the air. “Cooperate with Group, of course.”
Just that?!
Everyone shook their heads and sighed in disappointment. They had been thinking he would come up with an excellent plan.
“Yao, do you think it’s so easy to make two companies cooperate?”
Corey thought it necessary to discuss the issue with Ling Yao, the youngest among them.
“Is it difficult?” Ling Yao asked in reply.
Moorine Shen laughed and looked at Ling Yao somewhat helplessly. “If two companies want to cooperate, first they have to have a common project and gain benefits together from it. Most importantly, the top decision-makers of the two companies must be willing to cooperate. Then, they can do it.”
Ling Yao frowned. “Aren’t you all top decision-makers in your own companies?”
In this room, apart from Corey and him, everyone had their own companies. Wouldn’t it be really easy for them to cooperate with the Group?
“That’s right.” Chu Yuan nodded and thought about it. “Why don’t we bring it up when Sachin comes? We’ll see what Sachin and Rosiley think.”
“I guess so.” Moorine Shen agreed to his idea.
Ling Yao immediately became speechless. They had wanted to work with Group! Then why had they acted like they despised the idea in the first place?
Corey patted his shoulder and comforted him. “Yao, actually, they were just looking down on you when you said you wanted cooperation since you don’t get to decide anything at home or in your company. They were basically looking down on you… for your ignorance of your status.”
Ling Yao did not know what to say as many words that he could not speak aloud popped into his mind.
