Though it was only the second time that she had met the friends of Sachin, Rosiley could naturally say hello to them.
“Moorine Shen, Ling Yao, Chu Yuan, how’s it going?”
She had gotten their names right. Ling Yao could not help but exclaim, “Rosiley, you have quite a good memory. You’ve only met us once and yet you managed to remember all of our names.”
Rosiley smiled. “If I hadn’t even remembered them, I would despise myself.”
Hearing that, all the others laughed.
“Ling Yao, you think everyone has the same brain capacity as you so they need to meet a person a few times to remember their name?”
Corey mocked Ling Yao and Ling Yao turned around to kick him in the calf with dissatisfaction. “Don’t you make fun of me, or I’ll tell Rosiley how you wet your bed even when you were nine.”
It was deadly silent in the private room. Then, they burst into raucous laughter.
Ling Yao looked at the others, feeling confused. “Why are you guys laughing?”
Suddenly, he felt a weight on his shoulder. He turned around only to see a handsome face covered with an aggrieved expression. He jumped, immediately moved backward, and shouted, “Corey, what are you doing?”
“Yao, disaster emanates from careless talk. You know that?”
Corey squinted and his eyes flashed with coldness.
Ling Yao blinked, looking innocent. “So do you know it now, Corey?”
Then, not only Corey but everyone else, including Rosiley, understood.
Ling Yao turned out to have been playing dumb. He had pretended to be careless and let the thing that would embarrass Corey slip out. Actually, he had done it on purpose.
Corey admitted he had been tricked. However, he wasn’t in the mood to let the dispute drag on and also wanted to distract everyone from this.
He changed the topic and said to Sachin, “Big Brother, I’ve dealt with Calvin Lu properly. I think he will have a lot to handle.”
Rosiley raised her brow. “Calvin Lu? Wasn’t he the man who dragged me on the street the day before yesterday?”
“Calvin Lu?” Hearing the name, Moorine Shen knitted his brows. “How come he came to Benin?”
“He has been close to a female celebrity recently, so he must have come here to see her,” Chu Yuan answered on behalf of the Lu brothers.
“Yuan, why do you know better than Sachin and Corey? You’re not having someone tail Calvin Lu, are you?” Moorine Shen teased him with a smile.
“I’m not. I just slightly looked into why he came to Benin.” As he spoke, Chu Yuan subconsciously looked at the silent Sachin beside him.
Moorine Shen noticed and immediately turned to look at Sachin. “Sachin, did you tell him to do that?”
Sachin admitted, “Calvin Lu suddenly showed up in Benin, so I asked Yuan to help me investigate why.”
“We thought he had come here for some special reason, but he actually just did it for a woman.” Talking about the fourth young master of the Lu family, Chu Yuan did not hide his contempt at all.
Ling Yao burst out laughing when he heard that. “You were actually worried that he came here bearing ill intentions?! You take him too seriously. Calvin Lu is just a so-called playboy. He likes women and spends all his time on them. How could he have time for other things?”
“That’s right, but…” Moorine Shen looked at the others. “You shouldn’t forget that his older brother Carl Lu is not someone to be taken lightly.”
At the mention of Carl Lu, they felt silent in the private room again.
Except for Rosiley, who was not aware of what had happened in the Lu family, the others all looked a little solemn.
She could not help but start to wonder if Carl Lu was a terrible person.
“Alright. Let’s not talk about him. He’s really ruining our party.” Corey took the lead to say something. He impatiently picked up the glass on the table and gulped the wine down.
