Realizing the situation, Mya quickly said, “I genuinely want to treat you to dinner. I was afraid you’d leave, so I used this method to keep you here. Please don’t misunderstand.”
Kayden responded with a simple nod, then freed himself from Mya’s grip, saying, “There’s no need for dinner. You should head home.”
“I won’t!” Mya stubbornly grabbed his arm again. “I absolutely must treat you to dinner. You’re really important to me. If you don’t come, I’ll feel guilty about it forever. I’ll wait outside your house until you agree to this dinner!”
With that, Mya pouted, looking quite adorable.
Mya was strikingly beautiful, able to embody both a goddess-like allure and a sweet charm. She had the perfect blend of sophistication with her long legs and sexy figure, fitting all the criteria of a strong woman. Yet, in casual attire-like her jeans and fresh university-style look-she resembled a college student.
Hearing her insistence, Kayden found it hard to refuse and ultimately relented. After all, he hadn’t eaten all day.
Soon, they arrived at Moon Viewing Restaurant. Instead of reserving a private room, they chose to sit in the bustling main hall.
The restaurant was packed. The owner and waitstaff were busily attending to customers.
After ordering a few dishes, they settled in to wait for the food. Mya rested her chin on her hand, her large eyes fixed on Kayden. After a moment, she curiously asked, “By the way, Mr. Scott, can I ask what you do? Why do you always dress this way? With your status, you could easily dress differently!”
Kayden glanced down at his clothes. Indeed, dressed like this, many would mistake him for a loser-Ernest being a prime example. Yet, this simple style suited him. It revealed aspects of the others that he didn’t know. If he didn’t dress like this, how could he gauge if people were judging him solely on appearances?
Since regaining his memory, he had concluded that most people indeed judged based on looks-Mya included.
The main reason for his attire, though, was that he had worn this style for three years. It had become second nature. So, he replied, “I’m used to it. I wear what’s comfortable. It’s not important.”
Mya immediately gave him a thumbs up, impressed. Here was a man who could casually pull out a billion and yet spoke so modestly. She beamed, “You’re right! The dressing should be like you say-casual. While others wear expensive brands worth hundreds of thousands, there’s a saying: one’s status is just clothing. But that saying is a lie. What matters is wearing what feels right. Comfort is key.”
Kayden didn’t respond. Mya continued, with a hint of mischief, “So, Mr. Scott, can I ask a more personal question? Are you married? Is your wife that top stunning beauty in Hiphia?”
Mya was a bit of a gossip, a trait common among many girls!
After Kayden left Hiphia, Mya had done some digging and discovered he was the son-in-law of the Adams family.
Kayden furrowed his brow, asking, “What? You looked into me?”
Mya, flustered, waved her hands in denial, sincerely explaining, “No, no, no! I didn’t investigate you. I was just curious and asked a few friends.”
Kayden fell silent, not angry, and took a sip of his tea.
At that moment, a group of drunken young men at a nearby table noticed Kayden and Mya.
Mya was indeed stunning, a goddess in their fair-skinned, beautiful, with an ideal figure. Although Kayden wasn’t unattractive, his casual attire diminished his appeal, making them seem mismatched.
“Did you see that? The guy next to her is a loser, but that beauty is stunning,” one red-faced man pointed at Mya.
Another, Kevin, sporting bleached hair and a buzz cut chimed in, “She is pretty. Too bad she’s with such a nobody.”
He purposely raised his voice, as if he wanted Kayden to hear.
“Look at him-a loser who can snag such a hot girl. I’m someone with status, yet I’m stuck with this dumb woman,” he added, shoving the heavily made-up woman beside him, who whimpered and snuggled closer.
The group burst into loud laughter, their jeering echoing through the restaurant as if they were looking for trouble.
“Do you know why that guy is with such a pretty girl?” Kevin laughed.
“Of course, it’s got to be some body part he has going for him! If you don’t have any advantages, there’s no way you’d date such a stunning woman!” His words carried a suggestive tone, implying Kayden was being kept.
Kayden could ignore their taunts, but Mya couldn’t. This was an attack on her. Unable to hold back, she slammed her hand on the table and stood up, her face stern as she marched toward them.
Seeing Mya approach with a fierce demeanor, Kevin smirked, “You’re talking too loudly. The beauty heard you. Look, she’s coming over now.”
“There’s nothing to worry about. She can join our little gathering,” One of Kevin’s friends added.
Kevin stood up, a lewd grin on his face, and said, “Hey, beautiful, want to get to know each other? My dick is huge, and my skills in bed are top-notch. If you’re interested, you can keep me.”
Before he could finish, Mya splashed her drink across Kevin’s face, turning him into a soaked mess.
Caught off guard, Kevin gaped as Mya raised an eyebrow and scolded, “This is a dinner. Behave yourselves and keep your mouths clean!”
Kayden couldn’t help but furrow his brow. He hadn’t realized Mya had such a fiery side. Initially, he thought she was just a refined girl often bullied at work, but now he saw her strong-willed nature in a whole new light.
Kevin, feeling the stares and hearing the mocks from around the restaurant, realized his dignity was drenched along with him. Anger surged as he yelled, “You’ve got guts! How dare you splash water on me?”
