Bullets – the hardest and most unstoppable weapons in the world, capable of piercing anything. When fired from a gun, they explode with the force of a thousand armies, unleashing immense power.
The fastest way to kill someone is with a bullet. A single shot through the body is usually fatal. Cheetah’s bullet-riddled corpse was stark evidence of this.
Throughout history, bullets have dominated battlefields and taken countless lives. But those who can catch bullets bare-handed or become immune to them are exceedingly rare. For decades there were rumors of people able to catch bullets, but they remained just rumors. Today, the Ford family witnessed it with their own eyes, leaving them utterly stunned.
Everyone’s heart tightened as they stared at Kayden.
With a cold expression, Kayden held the bullet he had caught and gave a chilling smile. To him, bullets posed no threat whatsoever. If bullets could harm him, he would have died long ago on the battlefield. He didn’t even blink in the midst of gunfire and explosions, let alone when threatened by a mere handgun.
Looking at the bullet in his hand, Kayden sneered, “You dare shoot at me? I warned you that pointing a gun at me is a capital offense. Shooting at me is even more unforgivable. You can die now.”
His gaze locked onto Marlon, who shouted in panic, “You’re the one who’s going to die! Maybe you can catch one bullet, but can you catch two, three, or five? I’ll kill you! You must die!”
Marlon fired several more shots at Kayden. But something even stranger happened – the bullets seemed to hit an invisible barrier in front of Kayden and fell harmlessly to the ground.
Only when he had emptied his gun did Marlon stop shooting. His face was filled with terror as he stumbled backwards, saying, “Impossible… this can’t be happening! I don’t believe it!”
His words sounded childish and feeble.
Even with just two levels of power, Kayden could easily handle such close-range attacks. His body instinctively released protective energy when in danger. Like how one’s eyes automatically close when something flies towards them, it was a reflex honed by years of training.
Most people lack this ability, but Kayden had developed lightning-fast reflexes through rigorous practice.
So when bullets flew at him, he had no fear. His neural responses were far quicker than any bullet.
Seeing all the bullets on the ground, Kayden grinned and said, “Huh. You’re already a corpse.” As he finished speaking, he tossed the bullet in his hand.
With a whistling sound, the bullet pierced Marlon’s forehead. It passed straight through his skull and embedded itself in the Ford family’s ancestral tablet, right in the center of the word for “Ford”. A drop of blood from their descendant stained the tablet, making all the Ford family members shudder.
A moment later, Marlon collapsed to his knees, blood gushing from his head wound. Even in his final moments, he stared at Kayden in disbelief, his eyes filled with resentment and defiance. But death was already upon him. His mind went blank, then everything faded to darkness.
Kayden’s casual toss had far more power than any gunshot.
Blood stained the Ford family hall – an omen of great misfortune and bloodshed.
The Ford family was facing utter catastrophe.
“Marlon! Marlon!” Cutler and Leonel cried out to Marlon’s lifeless body, their faces filled with panic. Some of the women began wailing. Soon the entire Ford estate was filled with cries of anguish.
Though there had been arguments before, everyone was devastated to see their eldest brother truly dead. No one wanted to watch their own flesh and blood die.
Gerry was already 78 years old. Seeing his son die before his eyes – a white-haired man burying his black-haired child – was like a knife to his heart. The shock caused his blood pressure to spike dangerously. He began to collapse, but someone caught him just before he hit the ground.
“Dad! Dad, are you alright?” Leonel and Cutler quickly turned their attention to their father.
Gasping for breath and clutching his chest, Gerry cried out in anguish, “My son! My son!”
There was no greater pain for an elderly parent than to outlive their child. Gerry had never understood this agony before, but now he felt it acutely. It was a soul-crushing grief beyond words.
The Ford family had always prided themselves on oppressing others and demanding respect. They never imagined a day like this would come. Gerry certainly never thought he would watch his son die before his eyes. It was the greatest blow a father could suffer, and the greatest shock to a powerful family. To have his son killed in front of the entire clan was a grave insult.
He glanced back at the drop of blood on the “Ford” word. Could it be that the Ford family was doomed?
All signs pointed to the Ford family’s impending doom. Ancient wisdom held that bloodstains on ancestral tablets foretold disaster.
No, it couldn’t be. The Ford family wouldn’t be annihilated! Gerry wept as he desperately tried to convince himself.
Kayden was unmoved by Gerry’s tears. This seemingly frail elder was ruthless behind the scenes, responsible for destroying countless families. Take Georgia for example – she had finally found a chance to earn money and establish her family, but the Fords crushed her efforts in an instant.
The Fords believed no one should profit without their permission and cooperation. Those who refused to share their earnings with the Fords suffered dire consequences.
The Fords were used to this tyrannical behavior and saw their dominance as rightful. But what gave them that right in this day and age? Kayden would never allow such injustice. If it hadn’t affected his wife, he might have overlooked it. But by harming her, the Fords had dug their own graves.
So when Kayden saw Gerry’s tears, he felt no sympathy for the old schemer. Such people deserved no pity.
