Chapter 171: Summon Him!

Book:Back To Thrones Published:2024-10-15

Staring at Gerry, Kayden calmly declared, “I warned that anyone pointing a gun at me would die. Now, you’re welcome to try it yourselves! You’re all doomed anyway!”
As he spoke, his gaze swept over the crowd. Every member of the Ford family felt a jolt of shock, as if their hearts had been struck. This was no idle threat – the man clearly had no intention of joking with the Ford family. He truly meant to harm them. His coldness was evident in every word and breath.
That coldness now permeated every corner of the Ford family hall.
Never before had the Ford family encountered such intense killing intent or felt so directly threatened.
“Huh!” Seeing no response from the Fords, Kayden sneered contemptuously. “Fine, you’ll all be joining him soon. Since you won’t explain why you tried to harm my wife, I’ll explain it for you!”
All eyes turned to Kayden. This seemingly ordinary man was somehow a threat to the powerful Ford family. Though no one knew his identity, his actions proved he was no ordinary person.
Ignoring their stares, Kayden continued as if talking to himself. “You saw my wife’s business flourishing and feared it might hinder your family’s expansion. So you tried to suppress her. First, you manipulated the banks. When that failed, you turned to the underworld. But even that couldn’t stop her. So you decided on complete elimination. Once you feel threatened, the Ford family ruthlessly eliminates the threat, never allowing anyone such audacity. Is that right, Gerry?”
Hearing this, the Fords were shocked. This man had clearly come prepared, not acting rashly. His analysis was flawless, leaving no room for denial.
“What have you done? Did you kill Damian?” Leonel glared fiercely, demanding answers.
Kayden replied without hesitation, “I’ve said before, I’ll eliminate anyone who threatens my wife. Anyone with murderous intent towards her will be destroyed, no exceptions. If he was involved in kidnapping my wife, then yes, he’s dead.”
Kayden’s aura was unmatched, his dominance unparalleled. Challenging a war god seemed foolish for the Ford family. Their petty tricks were insignificant compared to Kayden’s might.
In this world, who could truly match a war god?
If he wanted someone gone, a word or gesture was enough.
Leonel’s heart sank. Damian really had been killed. Damian, who had made waves in Hiphia ten years ago and even ventured into Devil’s Gorge. He was recommended by Leonel’s sworn brother, whom Leonel trusted implicitly. His brother had said Damian would be invincible in Hiphia and hugely beneficial. Yet, who could have imagined Damian would end up dead without a trace.
This was Damian’s first mission, and it cost him his life.
It seemed the Ford family had greatly overestimated themselves.
“Impossible!” Leonel shook his head in disbelief. Suddenly, a thought struck him. He looked up at Kayden in surprise and blurted out, “Could it be… are you a Warrior?”
Warrior, those who excelled in martial arts. Not all martial artists qualified for this title. There was a clear hierarchy among Warrior: from novice to intermediate to advanced. Above advanced were the Grand level, then the Master level. Beyond that were the Legendary level, though no one had ever seen such a person.
Grand level Warrior were rare in modern society. They could manipulate inner energy at will. Because they rarely appear in public, Warrior beyond the Grand level were known as Hermits.
Hermits, as the name suggests, were far above ordinary Warrior.
Kayden frowned slightly at the term “Warrior”. He knew the concept but was unfamiliar with the specific rankings. Someone had once called him a Master, but he only had a vague impression of this.
For ten years, he had been on the battlefield facing vicious enemies. He hadn’t had time to pay attention to the Warrior world outside.
“What’s that?” Kayden asked with a hint of mockery, seemingly unconcerned.
Leonel was at a loss for words, but his expression clearly indicated that Kayden must be a Warrior. Catching bullets bare-handed and making them fall harmlessly – these were not feats ordinary people could perform. He must be one of the legendary Warrior.
Suddenly, Gerry’s eyes sharpened. He glared at Kayden, trembling with rage, his teeth chattering.
Angrily, he said, “Why waste words with him!”
“Anyone who dares challenge the Ford family’s authority must be eliminated. This has been our family’s creed since its founding, and no one has ever shaken it. Not in the past, not now, and never in the future. No one can stand against the Ford family.”
Gerry gritted his teeth so hard it seemed he might crush them. If Kayden were between his teeth right now, he would surely grind him to dust without hesitation.
Kayden sneered contemptuously, “So, you still have a hidden trump card?”
Gerry shook off his two sons’ support and said seriously, “Leonel, the Ford family faces a crisis. It’s time to summon him! He once promised to ensure the Ford family’s safety.”
At these words, most of the Fords looked confused, but Leonel and Cutler’s faces flashed with surprise. Indeed, at this critical moment for the Ford family’s survival, it was time for that man to step forward and save them from disaster! Perhaps only he could do it.
However, summoning him from seclusion came at a price – not money, but something the entire Ford family was reluctant to face.
“Dad! Are we really summoning him? Please reconsider,” Leonel asked, shocked.
Cutler also added solemnly, “Please think it over, Dad!”
Only the Ford sons and the family leader knew about this person. The other family members were bewildered by these words.
Though confused, they thought Gerry must have a plan.
Gerry looked up, his gaze fixed at a 45-degree angle. He sighed softly and said, “If we don’t summon him now, what are we waiting for? Do you have any other solutions?”
Clearly, Gerry was facing a difficult decision.
