Without hesitation, Marlon immediately dialed his second uncle’s number. After Marlon explained the situation, the man didn’t respond right away, only saying, “Don’t do anything now. Wait for me to return!”
After he tersely uttered these words, the call ended abruptly.
“Well? What did your second uncle say?” Gerry asked anxiously.
Marlon replied, “He said he’s coming back immediately!”
Hearing this, all the Ford family members breathed a sigh of relief. As long as Ernest returned, this matter could be considered settled.
Ernest Ford was the Ford family’s most capable member, holding a position of great importance and prestige. In Seclela, he was considered a top-tier figure. For the past decade, he had been continually contributing to the region, nurturing many talents for Nine Dragons’ Souls. About seven or eight years ago, he had already become a three-star general in Seclela. With his intervention, there was no problem in this world that couldn’t be solved!
However, there was still one person who looked perplexed – Gerry. His face was gloomy, his eyes narrowed to slits. Seeing Gerry’s expression, Leonel asked, “Dad, you…”
Gerry raised his hand in a stopping gesture, then said, “Keep investigating the identity of Georgia’s husband.”
“No need to investigate!” A crisp male voice suddenly came from outside the door.
Everyone in the room tensed up, with Leonel, being closest to the door, taking the lead in walking out.
Arriving in the main hall, they saw a solitary figure standing in the center.
He was neither tall nor large, dressed simply with an unremarkable appearance, looking like a middle school student. Yet, standing in the Ford family’s main hall, he exuded an air of dominance over the world. His stance was relaxed and carefree, yet proud and lofty.
“Who are you? How dare you intrude on the Ford family!” Marlon, upon seeing such a figure standing in his family’s hall, couldn’t help but ask aggressively. As he spoke, he took a couple of steps forward, intending to intimidate the man with his presence.
But he was stopped by Gerry after just two steps. Gerry’s gaze was fixed on Kayden, examining him from top to bottom, left to right. He wanted to see through this unassuming young man, but no matter how he looked, he couldn’t penetrate his facade.
“Young man, who are you? What brings you to the Ford family?” Gerry asked calmly.
If Karis had been home today, she would have recognized Kayden immediately.
Kayden turned his head to look at Gerry, then said, “I’m the person you want to investigate – Georgia’s husband!”
“Ah!” At these words, many people took a step back involuntarily.
“Guards! Guards!” Cutler hurriedly called out, using his body to shield Gerry.
But several dozen seconds passed, and the outside remained eerily quiet. Not a single bodyguard entered. Everyone suddenly realized that since this person’s arrival, the Ford family compound had been extremely quiet, with no sign of any guards.
“You… what did you do?” Marlon couldn’t help but wipe the sweat from his forehead as he asked.
Kayden spread his hands, putting on a helpless expression as he said, “Those guards outside were all useless, so I just killed them all! Keeping such useless trash around serves no purpose.”
“Ah!” These words shocked the Ford family members even more.
Someone curiously went to take a look, and upon seeing the scene, let out a scream in the courtyard.
“They’re dead, all dead! The courtyard is full of corpses!” the person who went out reported in panic.
Just moments ago, there were guards coming in to remove Cheetah’s body. In the span of a few minutes, everyone had died. So many people dead, yet not a single scream was heard – what kind of supernatural skill was this?
Kayden’s blade work in killing was transcendent. Years ago, he single-handedly slaughtered thousands of foreign wolves, all with silent blade strokes to the throat. Wherever his blade passed, no life remained. Once Kayden decided to eliminate the Ford family, they were at his mercy.
Battlefields that made others pale in fear were places Kayden dominated. How could the mere Ford family stand a chance?
Gerry’s face suddenly changed. He looked Kayden up and down and barked harshly, “Who exactly are you?”
Kayden gave Gerry a contemptuous look and sneered, “The mere leader of the Ford family doesn’t have the right to know my identity! I came here with only one question: why did you kidnap my wife and attempt to kill her?”
The usually solid Ford family now trembled. Kayden’s aura was too powerful. They had thought Gerry’s presence could overwhelm many, but in front of Kayden, they realized how pale and weak Gerry truly was.
Whether it was his gaze, his stance, or the tone of his voice, Kayden exuded an air of dominance, superior to all! Even the high and mighty Ford family seemed like mere garbage collectors in his eyes.
“We tried to kill her because the Ford family deemed her worthy! Do you think just anyone can die at our hands? Forget about your wife, even you won’t be able to leave here today!” Marlon suddenly drew a gun and pointed it at Kayden.
With bloodshot eyes, he said, “Kid, the Ford family isn’t a place where brats like you can come and go as they please! Today, I’ll kill you first, then your wife!”
Marlon turned his head somewhat frantically to look at Gerry and said, “Dad, don’t worry, I’ll definitely kill him!”
Marlon still wanted to prove himself in front of the family members. If he could kill this guy, his family would surely look at him with new respect.
Kayden looked at the cold gun and said coolly, “No one has ever dared to point a gun at me before.”
His expression remained as calm and composed as ever, as if nothing had happened.
“Is that so? Well, there’s a first time for everything!” Marlon said through gritted teeth. “I’m not just pointing a gun at you, I’m going to blow your brains out with it! Send you to meet your maker.”
Marlon pulled the trigger without hesitation. A loud bang echoed as the bullet flew out.
Everyone watched the scene tensely, only to see Kayden not move a single step. He maintained his previous posture, standing proudly. He raised his hand and, using just two fingers, caught the bullet precisely.
He caught the bullet flying towards him with just one hand.
All the Ford family members were dumbfounded. Catching a bullet with bare hands – there really was someone in this world who could catch bullets with bare hands!
This scene shattered the Ford family’s worldview. If they hadn’t seen it with their own eyes, they would believe there was someone capable of catching bullets with their bare hands!
