Although Cheetah had been seeking death, when the gun was pointed at his head, his body visibly trembled.
Seizing upon this weakness, Leonel snarled ferociously, “Tell me, what exactly happened at the old warehouse? Are all your men dead? And what about Damian? Did he escape or is he dead too?”
This was the question that concerned Leonel the most – what had transpired at the old warehouse? He couldn’t find any traces or clues. Now that he had finally caught up with Cheetah, he wanted to get to the bottom of this burning question.
In reality, Kayden had already suppressed the news, so no one knew about the death of three thousand people. In the entire Hiphia, not a soul was aware that over three thousand people had perished at the old warehouse yesterday afternoon.
Logically, such an explosive event should have caused an uproar, but Kayden had managed to completely suppress it. He had that kind of power; perhaps he was the only one in the world capable of concealing such news.
Upon hearing the question, Cheetah’s expression underwent a dramatic change. He shook his head, saying, “I don’t know. I don’t know anything! I know nothing!”
He refused to think about what had happened at the old warehouse. Just the mere thought of that incident would make him tremble uncontrollably.
Corpses strewn everywhere, blood flowing like rivers – who would want to recall such a hellish scene?
Leonel wasn’t a fool. The more Cheetah acted this way, the more it proved he knew something. So he angrily said, “Cheetah! Don’t forget you’re my man. Tell me, what exactly happened?”
Suddenly, Cheetah’s demeanor became calm. He raised his head, staring at Leonel, his expression softening. He shook his head calmly and said, “Go ahead, Mr. Ford. I won’t tell you anything.”
Then he moved Leonel’s gun to the center of his forehead. Then, with a grin, he muttered to himself, “Death might be a kind of refuge. A shot to the head might make it quicker.”
Such words coming from the rough and tough Cheetah caught the entire Ford family off guard.
Seeing Cheetah’s resigned-to-fate appearance, Gerry waved his hand and said, “Forget it. He’s just a useless piece of trash now. Get out of here!”
In truth, an alarm had formed in Gerry’s heart. This time, it seemed they had offended someone they shouldn’t have.
First, their companies started having problems one after another, and then Cheetah suddenly showed up with a warning. This was completely beyond the Ford family’s control. The Ford family’s businesses had been operating smoothly for decades, weathering even the biggest economic crises. But now, in an instant, they were being shut down. This force came from the highest levels. Who else would dare to harm the Ford family?
Moreover, Cheetah’s attitude further confirmed that this person’s capabilities were no less than the Ford family’s!
Continuing to question Cheetah probably wouldn’t yield any results. Judging by his demeanor, someone had likely sealed his lips. If threats couldn’t extract the answers they wanted from Cheetah, there was no use in keeping him around.
“Dad, this guy definitely knows something. How can we just let him walk away like this? If he leaves…”
Before Leonel could finish, Gerry raised his hand to interrupt him. “Enough. Get out of here, quickly!”
“Thank you, thank you, Old Mr. Ford. Thank you, Mr. Ford.” Cheetah suddenly changed his attitude. His earlier claim of not fearing death was only because he had been pushed to the brink. If he could save his life, who wouldn’t want to live?
Cheetah walked towards the exit with obvious relief. For him, this was truly escaping death. It felt so good to be alive.
However, before he could make it out, a loud bang resonated through the room.
With the thunderous sound, Cheetah’s body crumpled to the ground, kneeling limply. A hole had appeared in his back, blood gushing out incessantly. He struggled to turn his head, and in doing so, he saw Leonel holding a pistol. Leonel snorted, gritting his teeth as he barked, “Did you think you could walk away so easily? You might fear others, but you should fear me more! I’m the one who decides your fate. Me!”
Cheetah grinned, revealing blood-stained teeth. He chuckled weakly. Finally, his eyes suddenly became incredibly resolute as he stared at Leonel and said, “Death really is a good refuge. Mr. Ford, you’ve done me a favor by sending me off. I’ll be waiting for you in the hell. Waiting for your whole family.”
“Fuck!” Leonel couldn’t contain himself anymore and exploded with profanity. Then, he fired countless more shots into Cheetah’s body until he had used up his last bullet. Only then did he reluctantly lower his gun.
Cheetah had become a bloody mess, his head tilted to one side, devoid of any signs of life.
Marlon was about to say something, but upon seeing Leonel’s frenzied actions, he closed his mouth.
The Ford family killing people was a common occurrence, but only Leonel dared to do it in front of Gerry. The Ford family prided themselves on not shedding blood, but now that blood had been spilled, it wasn’t a good omen.
Gerry’s furrowed brow relaxed as he turned his gaze to Leonel. He then closed his eyes, putting on a helpless expression, and waved his hand, saying, “Alright, drag the body away.”
Two bodyguards entered from outside and swiftly removed Cheetah’s corpse, cleaning up the bloodstains in the room.
“Leonel, what do you think you’re doing?” Gerry once again fixed his gaze on Leonel’s face, his tone somewhat reproachful.
Leonel replied with an air of fearlessness, “Use those who are useful to us, kill those who aren’t – simple as that. Who knows if he might have betrayed us later? Killing him now eliminates future troubles.”
This was Leonel’s style – ruthless and merciless. He wouldn’t leave those who posed even the slightest threat to him alive.
Gerry had nothing to say to this. He was well acquainted with his third son’s methods, and this wasn’t particularly surprising.
“Dad, what kind of power have we offended? Is that guy really so formidable? He dared to make such outrageous claims, and even made Cheetah feel that death was a relief!” Leonel furrowed his brow, his face showing a mix of shock and concern.
Gerry snorted, exuding confidence as he said, “Don’t worry. No one dares to do anything to our Ford family yet. Even if that guy really comes, the Ford family isn’t a place where he can come and go as he please. If he dares to intrude on the Ford family, I will make sure he’ll die here. In fact, I even hope that guy isn’t just bluffing. I’m rather looking forward to him showing up soon.”
Hearing these words, everyone let out a long sigh of relief. Their confidence stemmed from their powerful foundation. If the Ford family didn’t have such a strong foundation, they wouldn’t have maintained their position as Hiphia’s number one family until today.
However, Marlon still couldn’t help but ask worriedly, “Dad, what should we do now? We still need to resolve this crisis, don’t we?”
Gerry nodded slightly and said, “No rush. Give your second uncle a call and ask about the situation.”
