Kylie had a strange dream of her childhood. She was running around on the beach when a few people abducted her and forcefully pushed her inside a dark room. In her dream, she cried a lot for her parents but no one came to save her.
“Mommy, Daddy,” Kylie cried before waking up from her dream. She was welcomed by a white room. Glancing around she realized she was in a hospital and recalled the event from her office. Her pale face became wrinkled as she frowned remembering how Sebastian blamed her and called her names.
“You are up? How are you feeling now?” Sebastian was waiting beside her bed all day. He went out a few minutes ago to receive a call. When he returned he found her frowning. Kylie turned back towards him after hearing his voice and her frown deepened.
“What are you doing here? Weren’t you calling me names earlier?” she asked in fury. Sebastian became conscious of her health. doctor reminded him several times that her brain wouldn’t be able to take any stress. So she shouldn’t be emotional at any cost.
“I am sorry, please calm down. I got angry because I was jealous. Please don’t stress yourself. I won’t do it ever again,” he said as he hugged her head patting it. Kylie was confused at his sudden change of mood. She tried to break free from the man but he was stronger.
“Let me go, I can’t breathe,” Kylie struggled against him. After hearing her words, Sebastian quickly let go of her and sat on the chair beside her bed.
“Are you feeling any discomfort or short of breathing? Do you need me to call the doctor?” he asked in a soft voice. Kylie turned her head away from him. She was heartbroken by his accusations earlier. All her life she loved him from her heart but in return, he always broke her heart.
“Why didn’t you tell me about your depression and panic attacks?” Sebastian asked out of nowhere making Kylie turn her head to meet his eyes.
“How did you know?” asked furrowing her brows. Only Cindy and her doctor knew about her attacks, then how did he know about her depression?
“You fainted because of a panic attack. The doctors here told me all about your condition. Why didn’t you tell me earlier? Or you didn’t have any intention to share it with me?” he demanded an answer.
“Our marriage was nothing but a deal at the beginning so I didn’t think this was important to share my sickness with you,” she replied solemnly.
“When did it start? You didn’t have this condition four years ago,” Sebastian said after thinking for a while. He remembers clearly how cheerful and light-spirited she was before. But when he met her again after four years she was aloof and always engrossed in thoughts.
Kylie became tense, she couldn’t tell him that her condition was related to him. It would be so embarrassing so she chose to lie.
“It started one year ago after my father fell ill,” Kylie said looking away. Sebastian was going to interrogate her more when Cindy rushed in. Sebastian turned to meet with a worried Cindy. But the person behind her made his forehead creased.
“What are you doing here Alan?” Sebastian asked the man who entered the cabin in a tailored suit.
“I am here to visit Kylie. She is my friend and it’s normal for a friend to visit his sick friend,” Alan shrugged his shoulders and then turned his attention to Kylie.
“How did it happen? Why didn’t you take medicine on time?” Cindy asked her after checking Kylie thoroughly for any injury.
“I forgot to refill my tablets in my new office. I will refill it once I get back, don’t worry. It was nothing serious,” Kylie patted Cindy’s hand that was holding her other hand tightly.
“Nothing serious and yet you were on the verge of dying. How could you say it was nothing serious when you are still lying on a hospital bed?” Cindy scolded her friend. To avoid her questioning Kylie turned to the handsome man standing beside her bed.
“Mr. Muller, what are you doing here? Don’t you have shooting today?” Kylie asked with a smile. Sebastian frowned looking at her smiling face. This woman was frowning at him since she came back to her senses. But now she was smiling at another man in front of him. How dare she?
“I canceled all my shooting today. How could shoot knowing that you are lying in the hospital? You need someone by your side to take care of you,” Alan said. Though he tried to keep his voice calm Sebastian could feel the worriedness behind his words. And that made him mad. Why was Alan so worried for his woman?
“Thank you for your kind gesture but I have Cindy with me. She can take care of me. Both of you should go back to our work now,” Kylie said with a faint smile. Her head was throbbing in pain but she didn’t want to show it in front of Sebastian. Both the men frowned at her words. She was simply telling them to leave her alone.
“You will need a man to bring food and medicine. Also, I can take better care of you than Cindy,” Sebastian insisted. He was her husband so it was his right to stay by her side.
“I am your friend, and I promised to protect you, how could you ask me to leave? You broke my heart, Kylie,” Alan tried to put on an act of being hurt but others could easily see through his tactics. When he noticed the strange gazes at him he rolled his eyes.
“Okay, I was just acting and it was the worst act of my life. Since you asked then I will leave now. But make sure to get better for me. I will take you somewhere once you recover,” saying that Alan left the cabin. Sebastian frowned at his retreating back. What did he mean by that? Where did he want to take Kylie to?
