Hilda kept fumbling with her phone, unsure of whether to answer or not, but Larry’s calls were persistent. With no other option left she took the call.
“You took so long to pick the call, is everything alright?” Larry’s worried voice echoed in the room.
“Sorry about that, yes everything is fine, I just had slight abdominal pain and went to see the doctor. But I’m fine now.” she stated, hiding the nervousness in her voice.
“Oh alright. I missed Ava’s call multiple times, and now I’m trying to call her back, but she isn’t taking her calls. Have you heard from her? Ava hasn’t called me in this manner before.”
Hilda chuckled, obviously fake, but Larry couldn’t see her expression right then. She was thankful that Ava didn’t get to speak with him, it was certain that she was going to tell him about Lily’s ordeal.
“You worry too much, just get back to work, I’ll check her myself, ok?”
“What about you, aren’t you tired?”
“No, not really, I can still check up ok my daughter.”
“Alright, take care.”
Hilda released a long sigh of relief once the call was ended. Her gaze remained on her phone, obviously thinking of something, soon she tapped on one of the contacts, after staring at the number for a while, before she dialed it.
After a few rings, the number went through and a man’s thick, yet raspy voice fell through.
“Hi, my love. You decided to remember after all these years, how nice of you?” He chuckled dryly.
Hilda swallowed, her palms sweating all of a sudden. “Lorenzo.” She said, in a sweet and coquettish voice.
“Hmm, still sweet and mesmerizing.” He hummed, as if in pleasure. “What do you need from me?” He suddenly asked, changing his tone to be neutral.
“Lorenzo, don’t tell me you’re still mad at me about what I did, are you?”
“Don’t dare or ask me such a question, when you know the answer.”
“I already apologized to you, didn’t I? You said you love me, yet you can’t even forgive me.”
“Don’t make it sound so simple. You always call me when you’re in need of my help, tell me, what do you want from me this time, is your new man not able to provide it?”
“I get it that you’re still angry, just don’t involve Larry in this.”
“Larry, so that’s his name, I see.” he chuckled. “Go on, tell me what you want.”
“It’s Lily-” she paused
“Who’s Lily?”
“Hold on, Lily? Your ex best friend? Or rather love Rival?” he teased.
“Yeah, she’s dead.”
“Wow! You killed her.”
“Why are you so certain that I was the one who killed her? I’m sure that wasn’t a question?”
“It wasn’t meant to be a question about my love, listen up, you should know that, I’m the one who knows you more than anyone, of course you’re the love of my life so I know you more.”
Hilda couldn’t help but feel irritated, hearing him call her my love, was churning her stomach. But as much as she wanted to end the call, so as not to hear his voice, he was the only one who could help her.
“I’m serious Lorenzo, and I’m married, everything we had is now all in the past.”
“Ohh really? Why didn’t I receive a wedding invitation or maybe you can snap your marriage certificate and send it to me. If everything we had is now in the past, what about Ava?”
“Don’t you think you’re doing something wrong? What if Ava finds out, that-”
“Stop it! Please stop it!” Hilda snapped, unable to keep hearing him talk.
“We’re not going to talk about this now, I have more pressing matters. The Ava you speak of, she’s locked up In a cell, I can’t help her neither can Larry help, he doesn’t need to know she’s in the cell because of what I did.” Hilda stated.
There was silence for a while, Hilda already knew that Lorenzo was angry, the mention of Ava being a cell will make him go rampage. But that seemed to be the only thing she could say to get him undivided attention and rapid help.
After a long silence, his voice fell through. “What do you need?”
“Cash, a lot of cash. I’m stuck in a hospital right now, I need to get out and go bail out my daughter.”
“You’ll receive it soon, I have no money on me right now, but I know where to get some.”
“You’re still into that work?”
“Of course, if not, how will I get money?”
“Fine, do whatever you can to help me get Ava out.”
“Hmm, I will. Take care my love.”
Hilda rolled her eyes, as she ended the call.
Just like she had thought, Lorenzo will really help her anytime she calls on him. A smile escaped her lips, at the thought.

Olivia wore a disguise, as soon as Morgan’s car pulled up and halted in the hospital’s parking lot.
With her face hidden behind a mask, and her head wrapped around with a scarf, Olivia was barely recognised.
Just when she thought Morgan was going to bring out his arm for her, the man bent down, as is tying his shoelace and the next thing her feet was swept off the floor.
“Morgan?” Olivia called, with a scolding tone, as she widened her eyes at him.
“Stay still, some people could really know your step.” He hummed.
Olivia stilled, her gaze roaming his face as if searching for something, she looked away when she couldn’t find what she was looking for, her face flushed red. She knew it was an excuse to carry her.
If anything, Olivia felt safe and comfortable in those firm welcoming arms. His manly scent of sandalwood and cologne was a quite a great mixture of fragrance, pulling her into him.
Olivia seemed to be very sensitive to scents and fragrance, even in the earliest stage of her pregnancy, Morgan’s Cologne made her nauseous. But lately, he seemed to love his smell and even went as far as stealing one of his shirts to sniffle at midnight.
It wasn’t long before they arrived at Old Gilbert’s ward, his condition seemed to be really bad, as his usual vibrate face had gotten a bit dull.
Olivia was quick to get down from Morgan’s arm, giving a soft glance before she looked away and went to sit besides Old Gilbert.
They seemed to notice their presence in his sleep, and woke up. His gaze fell at Morgan and he frowned deeply, he was about to say something when Olivia suddenly spoke.
“Dad, you’re awake.” She smiled softly.
Old Gilbert’s face seemed to change instantly and a smile appeared, as he turned his gaze at Olivia.
“I thought he came without you.”
Olivia and old Gilbert seemed to be lost in their conversation, while Morgan stared at them, they treated him like he was invisible.
Shortly a message popped into Morgan’s phone, drawing his attention from them.
“Hi, Morgan it’s me, how are you doing? You miss me don’t you?”
Morgan frowned deeply after reading the message, his grip on the phone tightened, ass anger washed over him.
‘Who dares to get his number just to text nonsensical things to him?’
