REDCREST COLLEGE
Ava didn’t concentrate in the few hours of the classes, as she kept drifting off to sleep. As she wanted, she now has a lot of fanbase in the school, especially girls who couldn’t match her beauty. They begged to be friends with her and even though she only needed rich and high class girls, she couldn’t turn them down because of her reputation.
With her head, folded into her arms which rested on the desk, oblivious of the teaching going on. Ava was startled when her name was suddenly called out by the teacher. She sat up, and rubbed her eyes, it was then she knew it wasn’t the teacher who called her but the school’s director.
Ava straightened her dress immediately, slightly ashamed of being caught while sleeping, especially by the director.
“But why was the director in their class and even had to come call her, by himself, when there are hundreds of people to do it? Could it be related to Olivia’s matter?” Ava thought, as she walked her way towards the middle aged director.
Everyone of the students had their gaze fixed on Ava, as she went to stand in front of the director. Just as they were expecting him to say something interesting, his words left them wondering.
“To my office.” He said, his voice devoid of any emotion that could give away what he was thinking. Ava followed suit as soon as he left.
The previously silent class fell into murmur, as soon as the director left.
The tension in the office was thick, as Ava was faced with two police officers, who fixed her gaze on her as soon as she walked in.
“Just like her mom.” One of the officers muttered as they exchanged a knowing glance among them, leaving Ava more confused.
“Thanks for your cooperation, we’ll take it from here.”
The police officers shook hands with the director as they got up from their seats. “Come with us.” They said, as their gaze moved back to Ava.
“Can’t I know where I’m going first?” Ava said, staring at the policemen who paused on their tracks and turned to look at her.
The first policeman had an aloof, yet piercing gaze that was intimidating, while the other one had a disdain and impatient expression etched on his face. He seemed to be really vexed about whatever Ava mother’s did in the past, his expression gave out the grudge.
“You’ll only talk when you’re asked to.” He said and returned his gaze to where he was going.
Ava had no other option than to follow, her mind racing wildly as she thought of all possible and impossible things.
It wasn’t long before they arrived at the station, Ava continued to swallow hard, as she had a bad feeling.

The first thing Hilda did, when she woke up was to look for her purse, she fumbled around for her phone. Once she found it, she quickly dialed Ava’s number, after several rings and no answer, she got down from the hospital’s bed.
Before she could get out of the ward, she bumped into one of the nurses, who frowned upon seeing her.
“Where do you think you’re going to, huh?” the nurse fired.
“I.. I.. I was leaving already.” She stuttered.
“”When you haven’t paid yet? Pay right now or go back there!”
“What? What payment?”
“You really think, our hospital will run a test on a murderer for free? You’re delusional.” The nurse sneered, not bothering to hide her hatred for Hilda.
Hilda studied the lady’s solemn face and knew she wouldn’t let her out without paying. “What do I do right now?” She thought, her mind still drifting back to Ava, to know if she really was arrested.
Hilda can’t bring herself to call Larry in a situation like this, she didn’t want Larry to change his views on her. She was still thinking when she heard the door slammed shut in her face and was locked from the outside.
Shortly after the door was locked, Hilda’s phone started ringing, she glanced at the screen to see Larry’s name.
“Oh no!”
