Morgan already had the feeling that whatever Hilda was about to say won’t go well with his reputation, especially with Olivia’s state of mind.
So before she could get to say anything, he stopped her, allowing Nicholas to continue with involving the police. Olivia shot Morgan a questioning glance, curious as to why he didn’t let Hilda say anything.
Morgan squeezed her palms gently and lowered his head to lean close to her ear. “Don’t dare to believe any single word that comes out of her mouth, Okay?”
Olivia remained silent, barely understanding anything he was trying to say. The doctor seemed to notice and moved towards Olivia.
“Mrs, he’s right. This woman is selfish and Ostentatious and can say anything just to save herself.”
Olivia’s gaze darted from the doctor and stopped on Hilda, who returned her gaze, with her brows arched together.
Hilda’s anxiousness and fear was getting the best of her, but she pretended to be reluctant, hoping deep down that Olivia would ask her to say whatever she had to say. She seemed to be favored by the young master.
Olivia’s Cold and hateful gaze lingered on her face for a while and she looked away, without uttering a word to her.
“Your mom, would’ve said the same thing to you, if she knew you were with him, Olivia, can you-”
“Stay out of it! Stay out of anything that concerns my mother! You have no right to say anything or speak about my mother, you have no right to do that, you hear me?” Olivia snapped, her face flushed with anger, causing Hilda to flinch slightly, as she didn’t expect the sudden outburst.
Olivia hissed and looked away from her as if she was some kind of disgusting thing, causing an eyesore to her.
Hilda realized that her plan wasn’t going to work, and that Olivia wasn’t interested in whatever she was saying, she knew she had to think fast.
Shortly after Nicholas left, he returned with two police officers, who frowned, immediately they saw Hilda. Hilda didn’t fail to notice the frown on their faces, she gulped hard, her heart pounding so hard that it could jump out of her chest.
Before they could come close to her, she screamed, quickly clutching her abdomen. “My stomach! Ahhhh! What’s happening to me?”
“She’s faking it!” Nicholas pointed out.
Olivia frowned, and turned to look at her, as her face was marred with confusion and shock.
As if there was a secret conversation going on between Morgan and the doctor, the doctor nodded and moved close to Hilda, who was now on the floor, she shifted away immediately.
“Don’t touch me! Someone get me out of here, I need to go to my doctor, ahhhhh! My stomach! My child! My son! Ahhh!”
“If you’re really in pain, you wouldn’t be choosing where to take you to. I’m also a doctor, you know.”
Hilda didn’t even look at the doctor, and continued to scream, clutching her abdomen more tightly.
“Were we called here to witness a crying pregnant woman?” one of the officers, suddenly asked, with a deadpan expression. Causing everyone to look at him, apart from Morgan, who was using his back to shield Olivia’s face.
‘Did they not recognize me?’ Hilda thought, as she heard the question.
“I already told you about the matter, the pregnant woman is the same person who plotted the whole thing.” Nicholas explained, his gaze darting from Hilda to the police.
They glanced at Morgan and exchanged a knowing glance between themselves. “She’s heavily pregnant and seems to be in pain, so we can’t arrest her.”
“Thank goodness, they didn’t recognize me, they won’t arrest me either.” Hilda smiled in her heart and increased her wailing.
“What do you mean, sir?” Nicholas frowned and turned to look at them.
“We can’t arrest her, if anything happens to the child, we are to blame.”
“You can’t arrest her?”
“Yes, but we can arrest her daughter.”
“What?! No!” Hilda suddenly got up from the floor and rushed towards where the police officers were standing.
“Please sir, don’t involve my daughter in this. She’s still so young.”
Nicholas, the doctor, and both policemen burst into laughter at her sudden action.
“Weren’t you crying of an aching stomach a few seconds ago?” one of the officers asked, his stoic gaze washing over her.
A rush of adrenaline and regret washed over Hilda, as she fell to the floor, releasing that she had fallen into their trap and there was nothing she could do to save herself anymore.
She suddenly felt a slight pain in her abdomen, slowly it increased, the pain hitting her harder. She instinctively clutched her stomach, frowning in pain, with her eyes closed.
“Even if you weren’t faking pain earlier, we were still going to take your daughter. We have old scores to settle, remember? And I’m sure you remembered what I told you last time. Unfortunately you’re pregnant, so your daughter will represent you.”
Hilda didn’t seem to hear what they were saying, but she knew they were still talking about her, probably about her daughter.
“Spare my daughter, please…spare my daughter.” She said, between muffled groans, her voice surprisingly low.
“What’s happening to her, is she trying to create another drama?” One of the officers asked, his lips curving up a bit.
Hilda seems oblivious to whatever they were saying, as she was carried away by the immense pain she was feeling. When she couldn’t hold it in anymore, she choked out. “Please help me, my stomach, my…. ahhhh!”
The doctor squatted to her level, using his palm to examine her body. “She isn’t faking it this time, she needs help.”
With that he called the nurses to bring her to a ward, apart from Eva, who stood glued on her spot, with her face lowered.
“We’ll take our leave then. We still need to arrest her daughter.”
Morgan and Nicholas nodded, and they left. When Olivia was sure they’ve really left, she moved away from Morgan’s back.
“Thank you.” She muttered.
“No need, it’s my duty to protect you.” Morgan hummed.
“Even when I’m at fault?”
Morgan paused, he seemed to think for a while before turning to face her. “This is not time to talk about the school’s affair, the nurse is yours.” He smiled slightly and looked away from her.
Morgan turned to leave with Nicholas, leaving Olivia with the nurse, but before he could get to the door, her voice stopped him.
“Where are you going?”
He turned and looked at her, “There are other things to take care of. You talk with the nurse and decide what to do with her.”
“There’s nothing to talk about with her,” Olivia said, her gaze darting to the nurse. “A health practitioner is supposed to save life no matter the situation, but she helped to end it, she aided the death of my mom. There’s nothing to talk to her about.” Olivia stated, her voice resolute, giving no to for argument and she looked away from the nurse.
“Alright then.” Morgan hummed and glanced at the nurse, before looking at Nicholas. “You know what to do.”
“Let’s get going then.” he said, reaching out his hand for Olivia.
