In the cave hall, the temperature suddenly soared, becoming so scorching that it felt like standing at the mouth of a volcano. Sweat instantly turned to steam, nearly suffocating everyone present.
This was the first time the General had taken the initiative to attack, and his terrifying power indeed shocked everyone.
Leo roared, wildly swinging the Divine Dragon Sword, forming a continuous Lightning Net!
Kakumei and his disciple, having lost their weapons, had been watching the battle. Now, they were terrified and hastily defended themselves.
Kakumei summoned the Jade Tablet again, releasing layers of auspicious light to protect himself.
Zephyr produced a small golden bead, which, once placed above his head, emitted thousands of golden rays to shield him.
In a flash, the enormous Firedrake almost covered the sky. With a single sweep of its massive body, it engulfed Leo and the others.
Thunder roared in the cave hall as various powers clashed fiercely, creating chaotic flashes of light.
The first to fall was Zephyr. The golden bead above his head suddenly shattered, and he was thrown back, spewing blood.
Next was Kakumei. The Jade Tablet lasted only a few more seconds before shattering. Kakumei followed Zephyr’s fate, flying back with blood spraying from his mouth.
Only Leo remained, stubbornly resisting in the fiery storm.
The Firedrake let out a final roar, directing all its remaining power at Leo and swallowing him whole.
Leo activated a defensive Talisman, his body engulfed in violent flames.
Suddenly, a triumphant laugh echoed through the cave hall: “Ha ha ha! You vermin, I only need one hand to crush you all.”
As the flames dissipated, Leo emerged unscathed.
“Master, how are you?” Leo asked, looking towards Kakumei.
Kakumei shakily stood up, pale and gasping for breath: “By Buddha’s grace, I’m not dead yet.”
Zephyr also struggled to his feet. Though clearly exhausted, he stubbornly gritted his teeth: “I’m alive too. As long as the demon isn’t vanquished, I won’t dare die first.”
The General was stunned. He hadn’t expected these guys to survive his full-force attack in anger.
The General prepared another powerful strike, raising his right hand.
“Wait,” Leo suddenly called out.
The General sneered: “What? Any last words?”
Leo smirked: “Save your last words for yourself. I still have a trump card. If you dare, stand firm and take this move.”
The General laughed dismissively: “Fine, let’s see how you struggle.”
Despite his words, the General felt uneasy. He had already suffered twice at Leo’s hands-once due to arrogance and once by surprise. This time, he resolved to be cautious.
Leo raised his sword in a grand gesture and took a deep breath as if gathering strength.
The General grew more alert, focusing all his attention on Leo.
Leo secretly rejoiced: This fool is falling for it again.
Using a secret voice transmission spell, he whispered to Kakumei: “Master, it’s me.”
Kakumei was momentarily stunned but remained expressionless as he replied in kind: “Mr. Bloomer, what is it?”
Leo asked: “Master, do you know any fatal weaknesses of The Drought Zombie?”
Kakumei quickly thought and replied: “I’ve read in ancient texts that The Drought Zombie’s weakness is its heart-a blood-red crystal similar to a demon’s core. But I’m not sure if it’s true.”
Leo gritted his teeth: “We have no choice but to bet on this. Master, can you distract the General for a few seconds?”
Kakumei nodded: “I can handle that. Leave it to me.”
Leo was delighted: “Good. I’ll count to three and then act.”
Kakumei nodded and subtly signaled Zephyr.
Zephyr hesitated but quickly understood his master’s intent and nodded quietly.
The three prepared themselves.
The General grew impatient and shouted at Leo: “What are you waiting for? If you don’t act now, I’ll come over and kill you myself.”
Leo glared: “Impatient to die? Fine, here I come.”
Suddenly he shouted: “One, two, three-go!”
Hossu shook violently, and three thousand threads shot forward like serpents towards the General.
Caught off guard while focusing on Leo, the General was instantly bound tightly by the threads like a wrapped dumpling.
Furious, the General struggled mightily!
To everyone’s shock, the threads began snapping one by one under the strain.
In this critical moment, Zephyr quickly took out a copper mirror from his waist and wiped its surface with his left hand.
A beam of pure white light shot out from the mirror, enveloping the General.
It felt as if an immense force from above pinned him down.
At that moment, Leo launched his attack. With a clear shout, he merged with the Divine Dragon Sword into a roaring dragon that soared through the air.
Golden light filled the sky as if shaking heaven and earth.
The General’s eyes widened in terror. For a moment, he forgot to struggle.
He watched helplessly as the Divine Dragon Sword pierced his chest.
Blood splattered in a dazzling crimson bloom.
In that instant, the General realized in horror that the sword had struck his only fatal weakness-his heart!
He felt his heart shatter explosively. All his immense power vanished without a trace.
With a final anguished scream: “No! I refuse to accept this!!”
The General’s body cracked open with countless bloodlines and then exploded into chaotic blood light with a loud bang.
Kakumei and Zephyr were stunned for several seconds before cheering joyfully: “We did it!”
Leo retrieved the Divine Dragon Sword and said: “Master, it’s getting late. We should head back.”
Kakumei nodded: “Chief Newman must be worried. We should return quickly to reassure them.”
The three swiftly exited the tomb cave.
Outside, the valley was pitch black and filled with thick fog again.
Kakumei sighed: “Damn it, more fog. This is really wearing out my old bones.”
Leo chuckled: “No need to clear the fog this time. I have an easier way.”
Kakumei was surprised: “Oh? How will we proceed?”
Zephyr was curious too: “Yeah, are you going to fly us? Wait, no-the path isn’t clear; we might crash into a mountain.”
