He had initially rejected her request to order his bodyguards to watch over Xenia Zhao.
His reason was that the bodyguards would be unwilling.
She was puzzled when she heard such a reason. As his bodyguards, shouldn’t they listen to him?
since she did not believe him, Corey called the two bodyguards in and ordered them to stay in front of her.
The two bodyguards smirked at the same time. One of them rejected Corey on the spot. He said, “Young Master, the Old Master sent us to protect you, not to engage in such a boring matter.”
Rosiley was astonished!
She could not believe that his bodyguards were so… full of themselves.
Corey laid out his palms to show that he had tried his best.
However, she had found a way to resolve this problem.
She walked directly to the two bodyguards, her tiny face full of smiles. She asked innocently, “Big brothers, are you more afraid of Old Master Lu or Young Master Lu?”
The two bodyguards had looked at each other and replied unwillingly, “Young Master Lu.”
since they were afraid of Sachin, the matter could be easily resolved.
Rosiley asked innocently again. “Big brothers, if Sachin knew that you were being disobedient, it would be quite terrible, wouldn’t it?”
The two bodyguards were speechless.
They could see the slyness hidden within her eyes, and they understood that she was threatening them.
In the end, under the mighty will of Corey’s sister-in-law, the two bodyguards had agreed.
Corey felt like he had no status in the family.
“sister-in-law, they are not full of themselves. They just have no ambition!” He was a little angry at the thought of his two bodyguards listening to his sister-in-law rather than him.
Rosiley knew what was upsetting him, and she patted his shoulder. “Don’t be mad. They are merely intelligent enough to bow to the truly powerful. Only a wise man could recognize the situation they are in!”
He initially thought that she was about to comfort him when she patted his shoulder.
However, she merely mocked him again.
Corey was depressed.
At a red light, Corey slowed down before coming to a stop.
He turned around to examine the painting in the back seat. It was a scene from Jiangnan, a thematic and gorgeous painting. The artist who painted it must have incredible skill.
That artist was his sister-in-law’s mother.
He turned around to look at Rosiley again. When he had first seen his sister-in-law, he was astonished not by her beauty, but by the gentle and quiet aura around her.
Women were always so impetuous. It was hard to find a quiet, peaceful girl.
“sister-in-law, your mother must have been very beautiful.”
It was an affirmative statement, rather than a question.
In Corey’s mind, Mother must have been a very beautiful, talented, and gentle lady.
“Do you really think so?” Rosiley tilted her head to look at him.
“Is it not true?” Corey asked.
Rosiley smiled. “My mother was naturally the prettiest woman in my eyes, but…” She paused. “She was really ordinary. Very ordinary.”
“Impossible!” Corey did not trust her. “With your looks, how could your mother be ordinary?”
“I have all the positive attributes from both my mother and my father, so of course it’s not bad.”
Even though she said so, Corey did not believe that her mother had ordinary looks.
After all, she had made such a beautiful painting.
The traffic light turned green. He turned around to examine that painting again before accelerating his car down the street.
