“Soon? Are you sure?” Rosiley did not believe that the police would arrive soon. As Corey was about to explain himself, she interrupted him, “Call your bodyguards in and ask them to guard these two. Let’s go home.”
Corey was speechless.
With widened eyes, Rorey watched as two burly men walked up, glaring at them through sunglasses.
He had private bodyguards!
Rorey was even more certain of the mysterious identity of Corey.
“Rorey, what should we do now?”
“Mom, don’t panic. Calm down first.” Rorey comforted her as she glanced carefully at the two burly men.
She knew that her mother would probably get arrested. In that case, they just had to accept it.
So, she grabbed Xenia Zhao’s hand and explained it to her. “Mom, since Rosiley had already called the police, you probably can’t escape now…”
At this, Xenia Zhao became flustered. “What should I do then?”
Seeing that she had completely lost her composure, Rorey pulled her hand and said, “Mom, please calm down.”
“How do I calm myself down?” Xenia Zhao threw her daughter’s hand aside. “How can I calm down when I am about to get arrested?!”
Xenia Zhao had been a little agitated, but now she was panicking.
Initially, she had been certain that Rosiley lacked evidence to prove her murder of Seneca. However, the matter had completely gone out of hand, deviating from what she initially believed to be the case.
In a full-blown panic, she was no longer as confident and composed.
At the state of her mother, Rorey felt terrible as her hatred for Rosiley grew.
If not for Rosiley’s actions, they would never have done such an illegal act!
No, she could not just allow Rosiley to do whatever she wanted.
“I am going to jail. How? How…”
Xenia Zhao circled around, anxious and afraid.
“Mom!” Rorey shouted.
Xenia Zhao lifted up her head and stared at her with confusion.
“Mom, trust me, I will not allow anything to happen to you.” Rorey grabbed her hand and looked at her with determined eyes.
Looking at her daughter, Xenia Zhao calmed down gradually. “Alright, I believe in you.”
Seeing that she had calmed down, Rorey heaved a sigh of relief. She glanced at the two burly men and whispered to her mother, making sure that they could not hear their secret conversation.
Xenia Zhao frowned initially, as she was unwilling. However, she soon smiled brightly out of joy.
“Alright, I shall do what you ask.”
Her mother’s agreement made Rorey glad. As long as her mother was willing to cooperate, then…
Rorey smiled sinisterly, since she knew that Rosiley would not be satisfied for long.
On the way back home, Rosiley looked out of the window, unwilling to speak.
Corey glanced at her from time to time. He dared not disturb her. She remained still, looking out of the car window.
“Corey…” Suddenly, she spoke.
As if he had just won the lottery, Corey turned around to look at her with surprise before asking, “What happened, sister-in-law?”
Rosiley frowned. “What are you doing? Why are you smiling so happily?”
“Nothing much.” Corey shook his head. “What question did you have for me?”
Rosiley looked at him with confusion before slowly opening her mouth. “I merely wanted to know if your bodyguards always have so…”
She pondered before speaking. “So much individual personality?”
